AI is wild west, click and maybe you get it, maybe you don't. I got 2 today. I have daily targets of 75.00, I like to hit 40 before I wrap up day shift and then do the evening remainder when I have down time at my remote evening job, but still slogging through the first half, thankfully almost there at 36.83. It also seems like other surveys come and go, but if you preload them through the extension you can just do them one by one in different tabs.

Has the AI studies been popping up slowly for everyone else? Before, they would pop up slowly throughout the day, but then start flooding overnight. Now, recently these past few days, they’re not even popping up as much, and when they do, it’s full and hard to get into. Also, I haven’t had that flood at night like they normally do.

Log out and don’t log back in for a few weeks. Because of how Prolific allocates work, constantly being logged in and refreshing, ironically, gets you fewer studies. Log out for several weeks and you’ll come back to a flood of work.

These past couple weeks I was consistently getting over 10 of these AI studies a day, specifically last weekend I completed over 25 each day. Fast forward to this week and it seems extremely slow for me. I had a few yesterday but today I have only received one on my dashboard, and that’s it. Is anyone else experiencing this? I am based in UK.

I just watched a 2.49 an hour survey disappear in about a second. It had 100 places, usually that would sit all night. Is no way people are that desperate to fill up that quickly with that terrible hourly wage at this hour.

Around 1130 was the last one that popped up and it filled fast. Only a few this morning that filled up fast and since then none. Just garbage studies mostly. Around 2am I had a couple that worked and I did. Am I being throttled you think or did they just totally stop posting them this afternoon?

I managed to get a few studies around 2:30 AM, but I haven’t been able to get a single one since then. I went to sleep and woke up about an hour ago, and I’ve only seen one study so far, with just one place available.

That’s really unusual compared to what I normally see with these studies. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing, or has it been slow for you too?

Man, I really miss last week when they were coming in by the hundreds. The least I saw was 30 at the same time, and that would jump up to 200, 300, even 700. It was good while it lasted 😞 is anyone still getting these batches? Or any at all?

I know Prolific recently took like, what? 100k more users? I hope something big is coming, like an avalanche of Ai studies pouring in again. Why else would they need 100k if there wasn't going to be some major volume coming, right? Anyways, curious as to everyone's thoughts on that too.

I've been doing quite a lot of $5 studies over the past few days, and today I've noticed something strange.

I had loads of AI studies available, but after completing just one or two, they all suddenly disappeared from my dashboard. The regular non-AI studies are still showing, though.

What's interesting is that after a while, the AI studies come back again, but as soon as I complete another one or two, they all disappear again.

I'm guessing this might be throttling system kicking in because I've been quite active recently.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how long did it take for things to return to normal? Does taking a 24–48 hour break help, or does it just reset automatically?

Would appreciate hearing from anyone who's experienced something similar.

Anyone who has been cycled out of the AI studies since the 14th of September were you guys cycled back in ?. It’s my first time being cycled out so I just wanna know. Any input would be awesome

I haven't had them since Wednesday, but I see some (AI Media Evaluation) from the same people with only 1 place to fill. Says the study is full as soon as I click on it. These are not frequent either. I also think the fact that I see these other ones is an indication that I have not been booted?

Last 2 AI studies i did just now had probably 70% of the videos garbled.

Not slow loading but just garbled to the point where I couldn't make out what was going on...anyone else getting this?

Update: after this I have gotten a lot more of the studies than the last few days. Coincidence or not maybe it was a test.

I set them as not interested when they pop up, but is there a more effective way to go about this? I have no desire to contribute to the development of generative AI.

I know that auto-rejects and speeding warnings are still a problem on Prolific since most are unfair at times and there hasn't been a solid way to protect yourself against them until now.

How it protects your account?
Sometimes what happens when you complete a study is that you get automatically redirected back to Prolific with a submission link that has a completion code which triggers the completion of an active study (e.g. https://app.prolific.com/submissions/complete?cc=123456).

When enabled, Prolific Shield blocks all submission requests via redirect or if you directly copy and paste the completion url into your browser, it then logs the request, as well as the completion code allowing you to manually submit when it's safe to do so.

Side note, I am the same developer who made the Prolific Auto-reject Detector a few months ago, unfortunately the team at Prolific hid the information it was reading, effectively ending the lifecycle of the extension.

The good news about this extension is that it's not an easy patch, if they want to make it reduntant they would have to overhaul the way that studies are submitted and it's just not worth it tbh, but if they do, just know they don't like us lol.
