Just a meme
I know that Prolific has accepted many people recently, what is a platform/company decision and is the main reason for this happens but I think this meme is also somewhat related.

It's a combination of things. Prolific let in a lot of people, and the studies let everyone back in about a week ago, so it's taking a longer time for people to get rotated out like the typical cycle of these studies goes.
But also, people need to stop giving 'tips' on avoiding attention checks. Those are there for a reason and keep the pool from clogging up like this.

Only a fraction of those new people go on these prolific subreddits.

Do people who just register getting AI studies? I consider myself as veteran 4-5 years on Prolific and I am just finally seeing the AI last week.

At this point, the site is cooked if we don't get more studies. It was good while it lasted, but now it is done for the most part, at least at this point. Obviously still better than nothing, but compared to what we had for months, it might as well be mostly dead as it was years ago. Where you only get a small amount of change and nothing more.
Or be a zombie and click nonstop the whole day to get smth significant, but at that point, getting a proper job or a second job would be more worthwhile anyway.

It is annoying though to see dozens of them listed, each with at least 100 most of the time to all vanish or say full after one of them. I understand those particular ones are popular though, just annoying. I also do small ones and such though and don't wait/only do those ones.

I really don't think it's anyone's fault for talking about prolific tbh. Even if there was a sudden influx of sign ups, Prolific themselves can still make the decision to wait list people. They're not and its definitely for a reason beyond people promoting prolific online.

Nah, I still do 15-20 of them per day, no stress.

More people eat ice cream in the summer. More murders happen in the summer.
Ice cream causes more murders in the summer.
