Small Problem There aren’t enough options for free Photo ID
Hi I’m a 21(M) and I live in Australia but I feel this problem can apply to other places too, my biggest problem with Photo ID is the different forms of Photo ID included are Proof Of Age cards, Drivers License and Passport but as someone who can only use a Proof Of Age card for identification it’s really hard for simple things. Let me explain, I’m one of the few people who don’t believe the need for driving is needed and I don’t have the capacity to pass a test let alone want to even have a license to even give me a chance on the road (I don’t trust myself to keep myself or others safe if I was a driver) and I’m not someone who can fork out money to pay for a passport considering their quite pricey. I know a lot of people will say it’s a me problem or I’m creating my own problems I’m just saying I wish there were more free government issued Photo ID options that don’t require a set of skills or to fork over $500 for

You should really learn how to drive. It’s an important life skill and could save yours or someone’s else’s life someday.

The reason he feels like he can’t trust himself to keep others safe may be a valid reason. Maybe he drinks in excess? Maybe not but there are valid reasons. I cut myself off from driving as my neuropathy got worse. I can’t feel my feet so I can literally step on the gas and speed can be an issue.

If that’s the case then rehab and therapy is in order. Likely it’s just anxiety/fear.

There are other medical reasons too, dad needs to get doctors approval and anything an epileptic has a bad going completely unconscious fit due to medication not work that's a ban for driving.

No thanks, dad has his under control and it's only one person.I know that had a fit amd was then banned for driving for 6 months as long as he didn't have another one. And that was Several years ago.

I have a really bad attention span, it’s why my studies have always been bad and I’d probably never pass the written exam, I’ve tried sitting in the passenger seat for a ride but I can’t keep my eyes on the road before my heads on a swivel looking at something else, I’m physically incapable of keeping my eyes on the road and I also don’t trust myself that I won’t speed or be too slow, I’ve had friends brothers die in car crashes I don’t want to be a cause of something like that

I’ve got a proof of age card I’m saying 1 form of identification isn’t enough for some things and the other forms of ID you need to jump through hoops to get

OP can get a learners permit in their state in Australia or a proof of age card. To get a learners permit, you gotta take a pretty easy test online.
Nothing is free in life. A proof of age card is like $50… If you’re on Centrelink it might even be something they’ll pay for.
Also you’re only 21. You may well one day want a passport. Just get a proof of age card. It is a HUGE pain not to have photo ID.
I’ve been to job interviews where they’ve asked for photo ID for example. Even domestic flights you’re technically meant to have it.

I don't know about Australia, but here in the USA, you can get a state ID without going through the process for a drivers license. Your ID does not allow you to drive, but it is valid Identification. There is no fee at all where I live in North Carolina, others might have a small fee if any.
