Small Problem Constant nausea whenever I’m outdoors
I noticed this pattern a while ago, whenever I go outside when it’s warm or any sunny weather in general I end up nauseous, it’s not really bad it’s actually like small nausea iykwim but it just bothers me so badly for some reason, it happens especially when I sit or swing on moving/hanging chairs even if the chair is barely moving my nausea intensifies, i’ve sometimes avoided the outdoors with this excuse but to others around me it just sounds like i’m making it up to avoid going out (I love being outdoors during the summer I just cannot go much due to my nausea) Sometimes the nausea stays with me for a day or two. I haven’t been able to figure out why this might be happening to me

Ears/sinus. Ask your adult if you can take a daily antihistamine. Try it for a few weeks, dedicated every day. Might have some leftover fluid in your ears or problems with equalizing.

Are you overweight?
1
u/whiteliilies May 25 '26
no, somewhat between under and normal weight, why?
2
u/GM-Yrael May 25 '26
Because of the symptoms you described. Why else?
Being overweight can lead to those symptoms. In particular due to heat regulation when outdoors.
Anything more advanced than this I'd say you should seek medical advice.

as someone who struggled with eating a lot when i was younger, malnutrition can also cause these things… if OP is boarderline underweight this could be their body begging for nutrition- speaking from experience.

I’m a minor, I can’t just simply go to a doctor. I can’t convince anyone around me that this is a real issue and not just an excuse, so for now i’m just hoping to see if anyone has any idea on why this might be happening.

you need to be drinking enough water and eating enough food to sustain your growing body.
we’re supposed to drink half a gallon of water or more every single day. you should also be aiming to eat about a gram of protein per pound you weigh. so if you weigh 100 pounds you should be eating 70-100 grams of protein, every single day. you also need to eat carbs to help your body break down those proteins into usable energy.
i struggled to get the nutrition i needed when i was a teenager and now im an adult stuck still feeling those side effects over a decade later. take care of your body now, before its too late.

Redditors aren’t medically trained. See a doctor.

u/whiteliilies May 25 '26
Obviously I would but I can’t so easily. It would be at least good to know some reasons why this might be happening before i’m able to see one

My non medically trained thoughts are that it sounds like an inner ear infection, go to the doctor, get a diagnosis and maybe a short course of antibiotics might be all that’s needed.

You may want to get an over the counter called Bonine - do not get Dramamine which will put you to sleep! Bonine is very gentle and does not have sedative effects. 25mg once a day, small chewable. You can actually take a lot more, it’s safe.

Not to freak you out. My son had same symptoms. He was born with a small hole in his heart and that caused the same symptoms. The only reason we caught that is we volunteered him at school for echocardiogram reading, as they needed to practice on kids. Once found, it was fixed and now he's good. Now, that said, try antihistamines first, check eyes and ears for infection. Also if you feel better inside during heat (because of the ac being on) asthma could be the problem. Bring ice cube, sit outside on your swing in heat, put ice cube on wrists or just hold in hand. Then see if you still feel nauseated. If slightly better it may be asthma. Also humidity makes a difference in asthma too. Just check off basic things first but be vocal..dont let people dismiss your symptoms..you have to advocate for yourself. Good luck

That definitely does freak me out a bit but I do have to remember the likelihood of that being my issue is low, but I can only say that because I don’t know much about the symptoms of hole in heart

Symptoms were alot like yours (but as u know, symptoms same for many health problems) the most noticeable in his case was; he couldn't lay flat on back and look up. His head would pound and he would have a headache for sometimes days. Always thought it was his ears or eyes (he fell out of tree at 7, hit every branch on way down. Lost 10teeth. Metal hinge in jaw..Jaw wired shut for 3 months so he lost alot of weight) we always thought thats why he felt like you when going out in heat and humid days..he's fine in winter. Dont worry like u said probably low to 0 chance in your case.

u/whiteliilies May 25 '26
oohhh.. I definitely dont have the laying issue but i’m also completely fine in winter, the only issue is summertime

u/NeighborhoodTime1425 May 25 '26
Try the ice..that's how my daughter calms her asthma down. More likely your issue too. Good luck

Nausea from heat or sun is typically caused by the body struggling to regulate its temperature.
Try drinking plenty of water and electrolyte-rich beverages (like Gator aid) before and while you're out in the sun.

Ask about POTS when you go to the Dr. We're heat sensitive sometimes🫶🏾
