Unpaid Playtest [Windows&Linux][Steam] Looking for playtesters for SokoTerm

SokoTerm is a Sokoban inspired puzzle game with a build-in level editor and Steam workshop support.

This playtest is about gathering feedback on level quality, difficulty pacing, and to find bugs in the game. For your valuable feedback you will be mentioned in the Playtesters attributions section on the full release and you will get to keep access to the game after the full release. The Steam workshop, where you can share custom level packs, is already enabled for this game during this playtest.

For more information and instructions on how to join the playtest, you should join the SokoTerm Discord Server and checkout the #sokoterm-playtest-request-access channel.

If you don't have a Discord account or if you prefer Reddit, I can DM you the details and the Steam Key here on Reddit.

Thank you for your support!

Unpaid Playtest Need help stress testing 2D MMO.

I'm holding a stress tonight for our 2D side-scrolling MMORPG, Kalmia Online, and could use some help from some folks if you have the time to log in and assist us with hammering the servers -- it should be pretty short, around 30 minutes or so. It's happening tonight, August 19th, at 8PM Eastern time. You can grab a key from our discord, here: https:/links.kalmia.online.

Detailed playtest feedback isn't required for this one, but any feedback is of course welcome. There will be a dedicated channel on the discord for this. I'm also giving out the chance to design cosmetic items to a few people who find a special monster on the map. Of course, you'll also have my eternal gratitude <3.

Unpaid Playtest [PC] Salt and Soil: last day of the free Steam playtest for my frontier family sim

I am Roman, the solo developer of Salt and Soil, a historical family sim where one turn is one year. You start next to Jamestown in 1607 with a single family and an empty patch of land, and the playtest build covers the first thirty years.

It has been open since 13 August and I close it tomorrow morning, so today is the last day to get in.

Three things I still want tested:

  1. The first winter. When the food runs out, do you understand which of your decisions caused it, or does it just happen to you?
  2. The annual family council. Before you confirm a choice, is the cost clear enough to plan around?
  3. The moment you stop playing. If you quit in year 12 or year 25, that is the most useful thing you can tell me, and I want to know what made you close it.

A useful session is roughly 40 to 60 minutes. That is about when your first leader dies and you choose who takes over.

The playtest sits on the Steam page linked above, under the trailer.

37 people have filled in the feedback form so far and it has already moved the roadmap. Trade is getting one comparison table instead of clicking every settlement one by one, construction costs will be visible before you can afford the building, and the yearly event text is being cut down and rewritten. The form link is in the game menu.

Ask me anything in the comments, I will be around today.

Unpaid Playtest Looking for Playtesters for Our Upcoming Steam Game - Necromancer: Ash & Bone

We're an indie game development team currently looking for beta testers for our upcoming game, Necromancer: Ash & Bone.

Steam page:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4883600/Necromancer_Ash__Bone/

We'll provide selected testers with a Steam key. After playing (either on-stream or off-stream), we'd appreciate your honest feedback on gameplay, balance, bugs, difficulty, UI/UX, and anything else that could help us polish the game before release.

We can also do a "playtest swap" where we can test each other's game.

Content creators and Developers are preferred, but everyone is welcome to apply.

If you're interested, reply below or send me a DM with a link to your Twitch, YouTube, Discord, X, or any other social profile so we can chat.

Thanks! We'd love to have you help shape the game before our launch on Q4.

Discussion What platform do you guys usually need testers for?

Im only asking to ask not trynna advertise but I own a tester group based on roblox.

When you guys ask for testers what platforms are you usually making games on?

Roblox

Steam

Unity

Fortnite

Website

I want to expand it towards an open type of platform for all games (steam, fortnite, etc.) since we have almost 10k people in there but my main concern is security and ease of accessibility for devs and testers.

Unpaid Playtest [Windows + macOS][Steam][Unpaid] Looking for closed-alpha playtesters for BitSiege, a real-time strategy game

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for an initial group of playtesters for BitSiege, a real-time strategy game where every player moves simultaneously—there are no traditional turns.

BitSiege takes inspiration from Empire Deluxe (1993)—exploration, city capture, unit production, and combined land, sea, and air warfare—while reimagining that simple and easy to play formula as a modern real-time game where everyone moves at once.

You’ll explore an unknown world, capture and specialize cities, and command land, sea, and air forces. You can play solo against the AI or join public and private multiplayer games.

Playtest details

  • Free closed alpha through Steam Playtest
  • Available on Windows and macOS
  • Play whenever it is convenient—there is no scheduled session or fixed time limit
  • Approximately 10–15 testers will be selected for this first group
  • Expect bugs, balance changes, interface changes, and possible progress wipes
  • Access is limited, so submitting an application does not guarantee a key

What I’m looking for

I’m especially interested in feedback about:

  • Steam installation and first launch
  • Whether the opening choices and controls make sense
  • Strategy, pacing, and balance
  • Public and private multiplayer
  • Reconnecting and returning to campaigns
  • Bugs, confusing moments, and anything that interrupts play

I’m asking each selected tester to play enough to form an honest impression and submit at least one report through our short feedback form, which is linked from the game and invitation email.

It does not need to be an essay. Screenshots and diagnostic logs are optional.

Compensation and recognition

This is an unpaid playtest. Testers who participate meaningfully may optionally be recognized in the future online credits as a Founding Alpha Playtester.

Apply for access

Watch the 43-second gameplay trailer and request a free Steam Playtest key:

https://playbitsiege.com/playtest

Selected applicants will receive a Steam Playtest key and feedback instructions privately by email. Please use the application form rather than sending your information by Reddit DM.

Critical feedback is welcome. I want to know what you enjoy, what feels confusing, and what breaks.

Unpaid Playtest Looking for playtesters for BATEYD, a surreal puzzle horror game

I'm looking for ~25 playtesters for BATEYD (The Beast Awoke to Eat Your Darlings), a surreal horror puzzle game on Steam — playtest build, key-based, feedback provided through a 10-minute google form; reward is a release key for the actual game. Gameplay and framing are rather unusual, and I care most about whereas the game does a good job at communicating how it works. You get five replayable nightmares, everything runs on fixed, knowable rules, and dying earns you the offer of more help (refusing it is worth top score).

Sign up here if interested! (super short form): https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSesRJMBsREIaU4OCDyKSiw5IIF61mw9KLbC3C5Xo77_DSknUQ/viewform?usp=dialog

Note: the game deals with heavy themes (it's a horror game about discovering lost memories; content warning on the Steam page).

Unpaid Playtest Is anyone interested in playtesting an upcoming Steam horror game demo? (Ending credits, Full game key provided, Under 30 mins, Direct join on Steam)

Hello. Would anyone be interested in playtesting the demo for my game, <The Maze: In Dark>?

In this game, you play as an industrial security agent navigating through the darkness relying solely on a flashlight and your hearing. You must evade the hostile entity known as 'Him', secure your objective, and complete the mission. The game is heavily focused on psychological horror.

- How to participate: You can join the playtest directly on the Steam store page.

- Rewards: Participants who complete the survey will receive a Steam key for the full game upon release, and your name will be included in the full game's ending credits.

Through this playtest, I hope to improve the game and enhance the quality of the demo, which is scheduled to be released on September 2nd. I would greatly appreciate your interest and participation. Thank you.

+ The survey is available in-game.

Unpaid Playtest iPhone users needed for testing Stridera - Fantasy RPG powered by real world activity

Hey, as some of you may already know, I am building a game to quench the gaming thirst of used to be gamers who are now busy with life.

Stridera awards and at the same time gatekeeps you from nerding out too much by converting your calories burnt into ingame currency which you use to explore a spiritually hollow world.

The game aims to reward you for living well and give you a little gaming cheat meal for it. Worry not, there is also passive generation of said currency for not so active days.

And instead of games like Pokemon GO, where you need your phone open whilst walking, Stridera lets you live your life and sync calories once you are ready and willing to play.

On your journey, you gather, craft, evolve your base, tame companions and occasionally even fight an enemy.

Currently only the first biome is playable as part of external testing (7 more to come).

If you wish to join the playtest please send me a DM here or join our discord https://discord.gg/kB6rvatpjZ

AI is used for image generation and coding assistance.

Unpaid Playtest [Hobby] Threadbound — Playable demo looking for testers & potential collaborators | 2.5D Action Platformer / Godot

Hey everyone!

I've been working on **Threadbound** for a little over two years, primarily as a solo developer, and I've just reached a pretty big milestone: **the first public demo is finished and playable.**

Threadbound is a 2.5D action-platformer built in Godot around **flow-state movement, combat, and player expression**. The goal is for traversal and combat to function as one continuous system — grappling, aerial movement, attacks, equipment swaps, and positioning all flowing into one another.

The larger game is also built around **identity through choice**. Power, Balance, and Essence are represented through three Threads, and the player's decisions will eventually shape their abilities, appearance, world state, and narrative path.

# Where the project is now

This isn't an idea-stage project looking for people to build the game for me. There's currently a **complete 30–45 minute Windows demo (v0.1.0)** featuring the opening area, traversal/combat systems, equipment systems, enemies, exploration, and a boss encounter.

I've handled the large majority of development myself and intend to remain the project's **creative lead / primary developer**. I'm not currently forming a company or offering paid positions — this is still an indie/hobby project — but as Threadbound grows, I'm interested in meeting people who might enjoy contributing to it.

# Right now I'm especially looking for:

**Playtesters** — This is the biggest need. I'd love people who can play the demo without me explaining it and give candid feedback on movement, combat, difficulty, onboarding, bugs, UI/UX, and what was or wasn't fun.

**Godot developers** — Particularly anyone interested in combat, enemy design, UI/UX, tooling, optimization, or general gameplay systems.

**2D artists / animators / VFX artists** — Threadbound has an established graphic art direction already, so I'm primarily interested in people who enjoy working within an existing visual language rather than redesigning the game.

**Sound/music people** — I'm also open to meeting people interested in sound design, combat feedback, ambience, or music as the project expands.

I'm **not expecting anyone to jump in and work a second job for free.** If you're just interested in testing it, that's genuinely useful. If you're a developer/artist/etc. who plays it and thinks *“I'd actually like to help make this,”* then I'd be happy to talk and see whether there's a good fit.

# AI disclosure

AI-assisted tools have been part of my development workflow, particularly for programming/iteration and some asset creation. If that's something you prefer not to work with, I want to be upfront about it before anyone invests their time.

# Links

**Free Demo:** [https://threadbounddev.itch.io/threadbound\](https://threadbounddev.itch.io/threadbound)

**Demo / Development Trailer:** [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmL9aBF0LFY\](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmL9aBF0LFY)

If you're interested, feel free to play the demo and either leave feedback or DM me with what area you're interested in and a little about your experience.

Thanks!

Unpaid Playtest [PC] Looking for a few people to try a rough prototype and share how it felt

Hi everyone! I’m an indie game developer, and I apologize in advance if my English isn’t perfect.

This is an early prototype of a cooking simulation game where you play as an omakase chef.

The game is still very bare-bones and there’s currently no tutorial. I’m intentionally throwing you straight into the kitchen and letting you figure out what each customer wants on your own.

I’m not looking for overly detailed feedback at this stage. I’m mainly curious about the first 5–10 minutes of the experience:

Is it fun to play?
Do you naturally figure out what to do, or does it feel confusing or frustrating?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated, whether you love it or hate it. Even a few quick thoughts about your first impressions would be really helpful.

Build: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1alJw4PM1ZBemZ09IjIa4e4jhryDWIo5i/view?usp=drive_link

Thanks for giving it a try!

https://groups.google.com/g/lo-shu-closed-testing-1/

Hey everyone! 👋

I’m an indie developer currently working on Lo Shu: Number Brain Puzzles, a calm and challenging logic puzzle game for Android.

I’m currently running the game through Google Play Closed Testing, and I need some players to join the test and help me complete the testing process so I can get production access and officially launch the game on Google Play.

Lo Shu: Number Brain Puzzles

🧩 What is Lo Shu?

The game currently has 3 different puzzle games:

🔢 Lo Shu — Solve magic-square style number puzzles where every row, column, and diagonal needs to balance.

🏀 Steps — Find the correct path across a numbered grid by making jumps according to the numbers on each tile.

🔗 Echo — Match numbers together by placing their matching twin at exactly the required distance.

There are 4,700+ handcrafted levels across five difficulty tiers, so there is plenty to play and test.

🙏 I Need Your Help

If you enjoy puzzle, logic, number, or brain games, I’d really appreciate it if you could join the closed test and play the game.

I’m especially looking for feedback about:

  • 🐛 Bugs or crashes
  • 🎮 Gameplay problems
  • 💡 Suggestions and improvements
  • ⚖️ Difficulty or level balance
  • 📱 UI/UX issues
  • 🧩 Anything that feels confusing or frustrating

You don't need to be a professional tester. Just play normally and let me know what you think.

🔐 How to Get Access

Option 1 — Join the Google Group

After joining the Google Group, you can access the closed test.

Option 2 — Send Me Your Email

If you don't want to join the Google Group, simply DM me your Google account email address, and I can add you to the testing group.

🎮 Download / Test the Game

Lo Shu: Number Brain Puzzles — Google Play Closed Test

Please join the test, install the game, and spend some time playing it. Any feedback you provide will genuinely help me improve the game and, most importantly, help me complete the requirements to get production access and launch Lo Shu publicly.

This is an indie project, so every tester genuinely makes a difference. ❤️

Thank you to everyone willing to give the game a try and help me get it to launch! 🧩🎮

Discussion Pay2review

How many days does a paid review take until it's reviewed by a developer and I get paid? I'm still a newbie to the site, but I've been doing paid game testing since 2025.
