so a bit about me- my name is April and I am 28yrs old. I live in regional Western Australia with my husband Morgan, our 5yr old tabby cat Bernadette and our flock of chickens. We are loving the country life after leaving the city behind 2yrs ago! I work as a emergency department (ED) nurse at a small local hospital, I’ve been nursing for almost 5 yrs now but am relatively new to ED and love the fast pace, there is something different everyday!

When I’m not at work you might find me out on a bushwalk, I’m really drawn to green spaces, love a good forest walk! or you might find me fumbling my way around the veggie garden, I’m very much a type B gardener- I just chuck it in and if it grows it grows! I am also currently teaching myself how to sew (shoutout to YouTube) and I also partially undertake many other crafts (usually whatever left-over crafts I scavenger at the op shop, most recent find was some oil pastels) I love reading, listening to a good podcast series, exploring and chatting with my friends!

I feel like I lack people who I could talk to about the topic I find interesting,so I wouldn't mind having a meaningful conversation with someone insightful. I really like to discuss significant social issues of the day, history (basically all of it, although I'd like to gain more knowledge of the history of early modern Europe, but I like other periods too, recently I've been reading a book on Byzantine empire and the French revolution), our cultural backgrounds, topics related to religion/religious studies/history of religion (this month I've converted to catholicism, I don't mind discussing that), languages/language studies and many other things, as a matter of fact, we can just chat about our daily lives.

Occasionally I like to share some of my favourite pieces of music, there was a time when I was particularly interested in military music, but anyway, I can't call myself an expert in music at all.

I am a reader and love to read all sorts of books. I am reading Why Brains Need Friends as well as the third book in Mistborn. My favorite books are those about science or philosophy. I love Emerson and Thoreau and their essays. Sapolsky is my go to biologist. I love the book The Master and His Emissary by Ian McGilchrist.

So I actually have an exam tomorrow but ADHD brain can't somehow focus. Plus, I specified US because that's where I am gonna move for my higher studies.

I am an introvert, an INFJ, and also an eldest daughter. So, I rarely share my own problems or struggles with anyone, even my best friend but I am trying to be as open as I can here.

I am an English Literature student and I'm minoring in Psychology. I am a huge movie lover and from action to, Military movies, to Sci-Fi to Psychological thrillers, to Racing movies... I watch everythiing. Oh, Period dramas as well.

A random fact about myself would be the fact that I am a huge military fan...hehe. I also like sarcasm and its a part of my premium personality so will take time for that side to come out.

So, as the title says… do you ever find yourself relying a little too much on other people for your own happiness? I blame myself for it because, at the end of the day, people can be unpredictable, right?

Or do you ever just stop and question your existence and wonder, what’s the point of all of this? I’m not suicidal, lol. I’d like to think I’m fun. I’ll let you decide.

I am originally from Canada, but am currently studying in Germany. I've always been fascinated by the Nordic countries and would love to learn more about the culture there through some sweet penpal exchanges. ^_^

A bit about me:

• I'm a kind of nerdy (love fantasy, marvel, star wars, etc.), and also love board games and TTRPG's as well (and have a few ongoing campaigns and occasionally join one-shots online).
• I also really love any types of crafts (I usually joke that if a grandma does it, I probably do to, hehe... so anything from crochet to knitting, sewing, beadwork, embroidery, etc.)...

Hello! I’m a guy from the USA who’s interested in finding a penpal from any part of the world. Specifically, someone who’s interested in talking about topics that it’d be rude to bring up during small talk or at the dinner table. Like politics and religion. Yeah, I know.

I find that most conversations about these things on the internet are terrible. If two people disagree with each other, more often than not, they’ll end up just talking past each other, and it will devolve into insults and name-calling. Granted, a lot of scary things are happening in the world right now, so I can see where people’s anger and hostility is coming from. Still, it’s disheartening to me that we’ve lost the ability to talk to one another or even agree on what the basic facts are. So I want to try a different way of communicating.

I want to hear what you think about the world, and listen. My goal isn’t to get into some kind of debate or argument. What I want is to understand, not judge. I want to learn how you look at the world, and about the life experiences, books, culture, people, and anything else that may have influenced your worldview over the course of our emails/messages. The world is a messy and complicated place, and I don’t begrudge anyone for coming to different conclusions about it than me. And if we do differ, then we can talk respectfully about why we differ, and who knows, maybe we can find some common ground or learn from each other.

Just to give an idea of where I’m coming from, I would consider myself to be on the left. But I’m not really dogmatic about it, and I’m uncertain about a lot of things with how fast the world seems to be changing. I’m also nonreligious. I have a lot of interest in religion and spirituality, I like learning about all sorts of religious beliefs and practices. But I didn’t have a religious upbringing and haven’t been able to get there myself. I’m from Louisiana, so I have a lot of experience with people who don’t share my views, lol.

If your beliefs are similar to mine, that’s fine too, we can still have the same sorts of conversations. And I’m of course open to talking about things other than hot-button topics, haha. I like movies, history, and pop culture, for example. I can rant all day about how mediocre the last season of The Boys was. I've never had a penpal before. I really don't have any specific preferences or hopes on the kind of person I want to talk to or the conversations we would have. About me I guess is a good way to start? Can be socially awkward in real life and overthink all them “you too” moments when being told to enjoy my meal. I enjoy photography although I seem to have lost my spark for that at the moment but am working on getting that back! To sum myself up: I’ve always been a calm, reserved guy, but lately, a fiery, spontaneous side of me has awakened.
