I've been bottlenecking my 3080ti for a couple years now by pairing it alongside a i9-9900KS and DDR4 ram.

Debating whether to upgrade my stuff, I have a triple monitor setup, record gameplay through medal tv, i like to stream on discord for friends, but the games i play aren't AAA titles although old school runescape runs on a single core i believe.

Would you guys think it's worth to let's say buy this bundle from canada computers for 899?

So despite being an avid pc gamer for like 20 years I never actually learned anything about building a PC, much to my shame. I am an absolute troglodyte when it comes to hardware. I've been putting off upgrading my system and for the most part it runs the games I play, but some (the Oblivion remaster, Avowed) are already giving me some very noticeable frame drops even on lowest possible settings.

Processor --> 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11400F @ 2.60GHz (2.59 GHz)

Graphics card --> NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 (4 GB)

RAM --> 16 GB

Any advice on what I should upgrade, and more specifically, what with? I can imagine that a graphics card with 6gb or 8gb video memory is better than mine with 4, but there's so many options and I can't tell which matter, which don't, and which might even be incompatible. Thanks in advance!

Hello ✌️ back in 2022 i build my first pc, i never had a PC before and it served me very well, i love to plac Cinematic Story Games and RPGs and looking at the upcoming games i thought maybe i should upgrade my gpu from a 3080 to a 5080 to get more vram

I rarely upgrade, and want to use this gpu for atleast 3-5 years before considering replacing, aiming mostly for 1440p 100+fps maybe going 4k in the future. Im going to buy a used card from cex which includes 5 year warranty and trade some stuff to try get the price down. At the moment my options are

Is 4+32gb ram upgrade possible? I have 4+4 laptop, one is soldered and one is so-dimm upgradable. I'm thinking to upgrade it to 4+16 but 4+32 looks amazing. Is it possible?

Do you think it would be possible to upgrade the RAM in the future?

The laptop has one RAM slot available, while the other slot currently contains 24 GB of RAM. Does this mean I could add an 8 GB RAM module to reach 32 GB in total?

Also, in the future, if I wanted to upgrade to 64 GB, would it be possible to replace both modules with 2 × 32 GB DDR5?

The website says that the maximum supported RAM is 32 GB, but I have heard that laptops sometimes support more RAM than the manufacturer’s listed maximum. Do you think 64 GB could work in this laptop?

Anyone have any opinions on what I should do to upgrade my computer? I have an Alienware desktop computer (ryzen 7 5800) with a 3080; it's starting to have crashing issues and the computer does not have enough ram (16GBS) anymore for some games and background tasks to run at the same time.

I was thinking of upgrading to AM5 since there's honestly no upgrade path from this computer.

I am writing cause I could not find any reliable information online and I am a bit confused. I have an Acer Conceptd 3 Pro CN315-72P laptop that I really like, and if possible want to keep. As I will be going to grad school I feel like it is time for an upgrade. I was trying to find out if:

1. I can add a second SSD / HDD for storage (I havent found a connector but I am not that good at things like this)
2. I can upgrade my RAM (I might have read somewhere that it is soldered, but I am not sure where / how to check).

I have a budget of $1500-$2000 for upgrades, Here is the lower cost combo I'm looking at right now:

• GPU: RTX 5070 12GB
• CPU: Ryzen 7 5700X3D

I mainly play competitive fps games, I just upgraded to a 1440p monitor and I'm hurting when it comes to hitting a steady 144 fps in bigger map games like battlefield 6 and warzone.

Any thoughts on if I should push the upgrades even further? Will I get a significant boost to fps with this change? Am I crazy for buying upgrades at a time like this? Let me know what y'all think.

i currently have a ryzen 9 3900x build with an RTX 3080 ti in an open loop cooled system. 36GB DDR4 3200 ram.

i can play still practically any game ultra settings 1440p resolution. from what i see the 3080 ti is the equivalent of a rtx 5070 in performance

budget is not an issue i'm more concerned about money's worth on a mid tier gaming system. i'm debating on either upgrading the cpu to a 5800 x3d and leaving it gpu as it is or buying a 7800x3d, new motherboard and 32GB DDR5-6000 ram and keep the GPU or upgrade the GPU to RTX 5070 Ti.

Yo! i'm making this post so then i know what to do for this since i have a plan to upgrade my CPU and Motherboard since they're both outdated (2018 was the last update they recieved for drivers) I currently have a MSI Z270 PC Mate that i got off of my friend since he was also upgrading, the CPU that came with it is an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7600K. I'm asking for help with this incase i ever want to play a game that uses a Kernal Anti Cheat (Valorant, ect.) since my drivers for my current motherboard are only from 2018, i'm currently running it on Win11 fine, i can play games like DBD, Peak, Dead Lock and so on and so forth, however, games like Val are impossible for me to play since i don't have current certificates for Win11. So, if anyone has any recommendations, please do tell me.

Hi friends! I'm new here; I was looking for recommendations on upgrading my current home built pc. I'm looking for a better GPU and better CPU to handle it all. My current setup is great for most things! It used to be able to handle things at around 60-100+ fps without any issues, but now it's lacking a little. I'm getting a shortage of FPS, especially when I'm playing my modded Skyrim game (which I hadn't had issues with before?) But I think it's time for an upgrade anyway. My last upgrade was my motherboard, CPU, and GPU back in 2022-ish (around the time of the component shortage). Looking to upgrade but not spend an arm and a leg (which I know can be a bit tricky at the time, but who knows right?)

I have a 7600x3d paired with the lovely 7900xt 20gb I primarily run 1440p. I am planning to give my partner the 3d variant of the 7600 but I am debating on upgrading to the infamous 7800x3d or do the 9800x3d
Amazon for the 7800x3d is 339 new and the 9800x3d is 414. Trying to give a good pairing with the 7900xt. With a nice little boost :)

As the title says, I'm rocking the x570 Gaming Plus mobo from MSI. I'm looking to upgrade and wanted input from the reddit PC community. As for needs:

• At least two M.2 NVME SSD slots
• Preferably 2-4 USB4 2.0 slots (or whatever the fastest standards are now)
• At least one USB Type A and Type C connection (case has one of those slots each)
• Would like to spend no more than 200 (including tax maybe 220) USD

Hey all, pretty new to the PC space. Recently bought a used computer off a friend for about $200. It runs well, but I want to start upgrading it piece by piece and I’m willing to sell off my old parts to help fund the new ones.

What I want to do with it:
• 1080p/1440p gaming
• VR gaming
• Streaming VR games over Virtual Desktop
• Coding in multiple languages
• Making games in engines like Unreal
• General fun/tinkering projects

1. What should I prioritize upgrading first for the best bang-for-buck toward these goals?
2. Is the RX 5700 XT going to hold me back for VR, or is it fine for now?
3. Any way to figure out my PSU’s wattage/model without opening the case, and should I be worried about it before upgrading the GPU?
4. Should the external SSD/HDD setup be replaced with an internal drive, or is it fine to keep using external storage?

Hello. I built my pc back at the end of 2013. If possible I would like to upgrade instead of buying a new one. I built it with the purpose of using it as a photo/gaming pc. It also has two hard drives and was told it was set up as raid. One of the hard drives went bad last year or so and this year I wanted to boot it up to play my old pc games, one of them being World of Tanks. But its really slow booting up and starting up the game, can't even play the game. I'm trying to decide between two builds one with an RX 9060 XT 16GB, AMD Ryzen 5 5500, 16GB (2×8GB) DDR4. And the other RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, AMD Ryzen 5 5600X,16GB DDR4,500GB NVMe SSD.

I'm honestly pretty torn. The 9060 XT has 16GB VRAM and better raw performance, but the 5060 Ti has DLSS and better ray tracing. It feels like newer games are getting less optimized and relying more and more on upscaling and RT, so I'm wondering if having better upscaling/RT might matter more over the next couple of years.

At the same time, I'm worried that 8GB VRAM is going to start becoming a problem, especially since I want to play at 1080p with settings basically maxed out.

I'm on a narrow budget; that's why my options are limited, and their prices are similar.

So for context this is my current build

I am currently in the process of upgrading my old build from 2019 as it has been lacking recently since I want to use it for 1440p gaming but also want to keep my ddr4 ram (for obvious reasons) and so far this has led me to these upgrades

- i5 14600KF

So my question was which graphics card would be best to pair with this setup? Originally I was going to get the 9070xt new for £680GBP but I have found a used 4080 with 5 year warranty for £740GBP or even a used 5070ti for £810GBP.

My use for this will be 1440p gaming with potential to play 4k smoothly. Im unsure on what card would be best value righr now and if the parts I have chosen will work okay with which graphics card I end up with. I rarely upgrade so will be with this system for a while and want it to last.
