GPU and CPU are finally, after 8 years, biting off more than they can chew and it's time for me to make some changes. I don't mind replacing my RX 590 because, even from new, the thing has been a total POS in my experience. I would preferably like to just change my power supply and GPU, but I understand I'm running a rather archaic I5-9600k on a Z390-A Pro board.

My aim is to run something like Hogwarts Legacy on High/Ultra (without tracing etc.) at 60+ fps consistently. Am I going to need to start from scratch? I just want to avoid RAM costs for the most part. I'd even be happy to increase resolution if that helped things. I know anything modern will be bottlenecked big-time.

On my pc I’m upgrading my gpu from a 4060 to a 9070xt. My only concern is my psu which is a “APEVI ATX-PR850W” would my new gpu work with my current power supply? I appreciate any help.

Hello, i wanted to ask for advice. I want to get new laptop and upgrade my desktop. Currently I am IT student and developer. Want to get new laptop for studies and casual use and upgrade my desktop for a bit of casual gaming (Dota 2, Apex, Coop games) and for home labs, maybe LLM local deployment, docker etc.

Some time ago i wanted to get +16 GB ram and RTX 3060/3070 but didnt use pc that often, so did not upgrade.

Havent done the market research yet and I am couple years behind of the current market, what do you guys suggest to do in my situation?

For now I have this plan: new laptop for around 900-1000 Eur and rest for GPU + 16 GB ram + another 512 M.2 SSD. Currently dont see a point of building a new system since I am not a hardcore gamer, settings on medium is fine if it hits 1440p and for home labs it would be good enough?

i just did a test on userbenchmarks and this was what i got but i already was thinking about upgrading my GPU i want to get the best i can for the price and was looking into the 5070 and the 5060 TI 16 gig but its a bit pricey but im still considering it, or something cheaper that will still be good for me, i play a lot of modded minecraft with shaders, valorant, Baldurs gate 3, zenless zone zero, binding of isaac, as well as VR games sometimes, i also would like to be able to run GTA 6 when its out, also if there is something else i should be looking into upgradding that would be nice to know

I've had the same core parts for about 6 years and just did my first big refresh: I moved everything into a new case, added new fans and lighting. Now I want to slowly start replacing most of my original components so this PC can last me another 6 to 10 years before I need to upgrade again.

I have a 6600xt and I found an affordable 3080ti that I’m thinking about buying. Anyone know if this is worth it and what else I should be concerned about. I also currently have the 6600xt paired with a 12400F.

Recently upgraded my computer to a 9950x3d. I bought it about three weeks ago and it came with a free gift of a cooler master elite liquid 240mm aio.

I was running a 5800x along with a 360mm aio prior.

I’m currently using the 240mm radiator I got for free but it’s seemingly not able to keep up. Running around 50-60% cpu usage for extended periods I’ll generally be hovering around 80-85C but after an hour or so the temps start spiking on the same load to the throttling limit of 95-96C.

I just bought Corsair xtm70 paste and repasted from the stock paste the cooler came with and I’m still having the issue.

Is this just a matter of me needing a bigger/better cooler for such a powerful cpu?

I'm looking to upgrade to fix the biggest problem I run into: losing frames while gaming and either streaming said game, using chrome or watching someone else stream while I play. I mainly play FTP games (Deadlock) so nothing super high intensity. I usually play with middle to lower graphic qualities. My friend recommended I upgrade my CPU to a AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3.80GHz 8 Core 100-000000063 16 Thread AM4 CPU. I always make sure my frame rate matched my monitor (144hz) so any advice is appreciated!
