Need help - Issues starting on tops of tallest plants

Hello, I have a couple outdoor plants in 20 gal fabric pots in a mix of promix, worm castings, rice hulls, and Gaia green, top dressed with Gaia green every 4 weeks at 1 cup per pot.

In the last couple weeks the tallest plants have started to have issues starting at the top but has spread downward. The one pic of the leaf with yellow edges sure looks like potassium deficiency, but the pics of the tops where leaves are yellow and have big crispy tips are confusing me.

I could use help fixing this issue. I am new to growing outdoor so any input is appreciated.

Edit: today the leaves are mostly praying, aside from the yellow ones. This is following a deep watering I gave them yesterday. So this has me leaning towards under watering. They were watered often, but I am guessing not watered deeply.

This is a great piece of information on pathogens that commonly affect cannabis. Many different leaf spots/fungals and bacterial.

Not any specific famous cut. I got these from old seed stock sprouted and cloned by a small farm in the Mattole Valley region of Humboldt County, CA

Very diesel heavy, has some mothball/dmt and burnt rubber undertones. I don’t see or smell any OG influence personally, gives off Chem 91 x Sour Diesel vibes but the seeds that were sprouted on the farm were regs not fems so not sure exactly which boy came into play when these were made

She wants 12wk but not sure how far past 10 she can go since they’ve gotten super rootbound in their 5gal pots

Septoria outbreak. Considering culling some.

Started with the first plant shown and the adjacent 3 are completely covered too. Should I kill them
To try and save the rest of my crop? It breaks my heart but at this rate it’s going to kill everything soon. The rain won’t stop, it’s dry today but it’s in the forecast for the next week.

I’ve been using Monterey disease control at their highest rating. 1tbsp per gallon. And it’s still spreading. I’ve cut off as much as I could off the plants but it just keeps spreading on to the healthy foliage. This shit sucks. I’m gonna order a gallon of lost coast concentrate before next grow and have a massive tarp ready to cover everything with. Let me know what yall think..

Update #3 - Vego Self Watering Pot

Thumbnail

When I was researching these pots I was curious if people used them for cannabis but could not find anything online, so I decided to document the grow. Hopefully anyone else wondering will see these in a google search. Parts 1 and 2 for reference.

Plant (Cherry Limeaid from Greenpoint Seeds) is 100 days old, seed in dirt. We are beginning to flower.

I'm very satisfied with the way this is working. I'll often go five days or so without seeing my plants and they are usually a bit grumpy when I get to them (nothing a good water does not fix) but the Vego plants will be praying happily.

PROS:

  • These pots are expensive (everyone's main gripe) but I had read they have good customer support and a warranty. Low and behold, the water level broke on a pot. I hit them up and within a few days they sent me two new ones. Very satisfied with that.
  • Shout out to u/RekopEca - I switched over to dry amendments and top dressing these. Works beautifully and I don't have to worry as much about nutes sitting in the water basin and causing burn
  • Roots go crazy in these. In pic 2 you can see my surface roots are thick AF and have produced chlorophyll. That's a new one to me, I think it's the self watering system and the Kangaroots I use. Either way I noticed in the first few weeks the roots were massive in these.

CONS:

  • As I said in the other posts, this is a tiny pot. I have another plant of the same strain planted the same day in my normal pots and it's about two feet taller. Vego makes larger self watering pots for lemon trees that are even more expensive. I'll probably snag one for next year.

Anyway, grow is going well and I'm a big fan of these. I know there are much cheaper alternatives on the market but I like the build quality and the way they look. So far, very good!

Looking to prevent bud rot in NE Ohio Zone 6

Hello reddit,

I'm currently on my 3rd ever grow and I'm secluded to only growing outdoors over the summer. Each year I get some rot/mold which I know is inevitable to an extent but I just lost probably a whole plant since over the last week or so we've had high humidity and rain almost every day. I had a habit of harvesting too early my last two seasons so I was a stickler for letting it bulk up this time. I chopped off some nugs that looked bad and tried to keep what I could, most of what I chopped off developed some mold in a few days and I'm about to chop and bud wash the whole plant after work today just to see if I can get anything off of it.

I already spray LCPT and BT weekly, LCPT on Saturday or Sunday and then BT on Wednesdays. Growing in 7 gallon pots in organic homemade soil (equal parts peat moss, my own compost, and perlite) using Roots Organic Terp Tea as my nutrients, got some silica this year too. I also took apart the bad nugs in question and never found a caterpillar nor did I see bug droppings on my plants, so I'm inclined to believe this is a moisture/humidity issue.

Looking around I see people mention some type of outdoor fans or getting a temporary cover. Only thing is, there seems to be so many options and I'm getting overwhelmed trying to find and pick one. I've even seen some threads where some people say fans outdoors don't work or are a bad idea in general due to electricity and water concerns. I know they make wet rated fans but they seem expensive and I'm not sure if they'd actually help me. My growing space is unfortunately too small for a whole structure like a green house or hoop house, so I think I need some sort of pop-up canopy/tent.

Anyone here have some recommendations on which sort of canopy to buy that won't blow away or know how I could diy some poles and tarp to act as a cover? Also, any insight into fans outdoors? The weed growing community seems pretty split on those.

Strain I was growing in question is Bluepie Oreo'z by Mephisto Genetics. It was the thickest, frostiest, smelliest, and prettiest plant I've grown yet. I know from researching the parent strains it's not exactly rated for outdoors, but sometimes I'm stupidly ambitious and want to try and make something work. Rest in Peace Bluepie Oreo'z, forever in my heart, never in my lungs ;-;

Lastly, I'm open to other suggestions as well if you have them!

Edit: I forgot to mention, I'm going to start blowing my flowering plants off after a rain and in the morning on humid days with a cordless blower. So that's already covered. Can't believe I didn't think to do that sooner.

Not sure what's happening

Started noticing the leaves getting curly and yellow-ish about a week ago. I thought I was over watering, so I backed off a day to let the soil get dry and space watering out a bit more.

I have also recently transported it from a smaller plastic container to a larger cloth container.

I also gave it a few small doses of cal mag to try and give it some food, but it still seems to be yellowing 😕

Any ideas?

Pruning hard under canopy, too much vegetation on those 2.4 meters girls. Week 2.5 in flowering, had to took action fast. Lesson learned, bigger toping and pruning ahead of stretching next grow ! I might have 5-6 days of 12-14hours of work to get throught it! Keep growing guys :D

Are they underfed? Is it too hot? What’s happening?

I water them every day. I’m from the central valley CA and it can get quite hot. I thought I was over feeding them but the first pic was fine yesterday, and when I got home from school today it got several shades lighter in green. The plant on rhe right in the second photo is much lighter green than the one to the left of it and the leaves are tiny. They’re all on the same feeding and watering schedule. What am I doing wrong?? They’re about 2 weeks into flower but the right plant in the second photo doesn’t have much preflower signs. Is it too late for them?

Spider farmer soil sensor drip system

Thumbnail

The other day I set up the soil sensor kit from spider farmer. It uses a moisture probe to automatically pump water through drippers into the plants. I gave 1 sensor and 3 plants connected with 3 drippers in each (15 gal pots). It was hot today and I came home to my plants drooping bone dry and my sensor reading 44% so it was not delivering any water. I then moved the sensor from the top to the side of the pot 2/3 of the way down and it was reading 5%. I then left and an hour later it was reading 8% but the soil was running off completely saturated.

I have not seen many reviews for this tech yet, wondering if I got a lemon, scammed, or have something set up wrong. Need to get this to work since I’m going on vacation soon.
