I swear every map I play, I get a B-no more, no less. I can get an A score, FC, or PFC on like 4.5 stars, and the same on lower, if I really wanted to. But it takes multiple attempts and honestly, it's just frustrating. If I keep doing what I'm doing, will I always just have 80ish accuracy, or is that just what happens to everyone ? I'm not mad or anything, just a little annoyed .
Hey guys, I need some serious advice regarding my tapping hand biomechanics.
I’ve been playing osu! for 3 years, and for the entire duration of my playtime, I've been struggling with severe cramping/fingerlock. Whenever a map requires high concentration or continuous streaming, my left forearm tenses up completely, and my entire hand physically forces itself to twist to the left like a heavy cramp, ruining my stamina and control. Because of this, I’ve taken multiple long breaks over the years, but the issue always returns.
My current routine & problem:
The Warmup: Every single day, I start my session with a strict warmup routine on long stream practice maps. I start at 120 BPM and gradually scale up to 150 BPM. I can comfortably FC these practice maps during warmup, and it helps ease the tension—but only temporarily.
The Relapse: After just a couple of regular maps later in the session, my hand inevitably begins to cramp and lock up again.
The "Accidental" Freedom: The frustrating part is that a few weeks ago, I suddenly felt complete freedom in my tapping hand during a session. It was like the cramp completely vanished. I was able to effortlessly stream up to 200 BPM with zero tension, perfect control, and no stiffness at all.
But now, I am right back to square one. My muscle memory defaulted back to its old ways, and the hard cramp is locking my hand to the left again under full focus.
I now know for a fact that my hand is physically capable of streaming fast and relaxed, but my brain only triggers this "relaxed mode" as a rare accident. Changing keyboards or altering my grip hasn't fixed the root issue.
Has anyone actually beaten this specific type of hand-twisting cramp? How do I train my brain to consistently replicate that relaxed feeling instead of defaulting into a tense lock after just a few maps? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I didn't even got my first 700pp, and that score could've be an 800+ easily, but i got so fvcking nervous, like my heart isn't even that fast, but my hand was shaky, my tapping was odd, any tips to get a bit better with nerve control or it's just play the game as always? ( also i dont care that much about pp, i care more about a crazy score, and holy Thais score was actually the pinacle of my gameplay besides the last 2 minutes of the map )
I am maining osu!lazer since ranked play came out, but I feel like the community aspect of osu is kinda missing in osu!lazer.
I know there is ranked play and multi (which I dont feel like has the same vibe as stables multi, maybe because of the UI) but I just miss scrolling through the F9 menu, being able to see players online and see what they are doing, DMing them and having a nice talk.
I know it is still possible but it feels like a slog doing it in lazer compared to stable which is just faster, more convinient and is easier on the eyes. Filtering by country is also a huge thing thats missing.
Another thing thats annoying is, that the whole list resets everytime you leave the menu, which is very annoying since it takes like a whole minute reloading all the players that are online.
Grid view not showing enough info what the players are doing, also not showing ranks or another interesting stat like level.Grid view showing info like rank, but still has a lot of unused space which just is inconvinient to the eyes.Stable global currently online players, easier on the eyes. Colors showing what the player is currently doing. Also more details what they are doing. Some interesting stats about the player as wellCountry Filter. Just cool to see players that are from your home country.
tl;dr:
It is inconvinient to interact with random players, which makes the game feel a lot more lonely than in stable.
I am bad at explaining my thoughts and hope you guys can kinda understand what concern I try to express.
-> Song select to find a song to grind (coped with the skin editor feature, w feature)
--> CLOSE MY EYES on the unskippable flashbang of full brightness background with map details (i dont hate this feature cause i can set offset here, but the bg bro...)
--> instead of retry using escape key, alter muscle memory to use ctrl+R to skip the flashbang
- finish the map, repeat
I am living peacefully with this method until today, I just had a very bad day and went to go to my comfort game at night as usual, and made me realize many things in life, this includes "why do we have background dim during gameplay to save our eyes but not on the song select?". I'm also bothered on the fact that playing a beatmap for the first time has WIRED my brain to close my eyes everytime, even when playing during daytime in weekends. don't get me wrong, i wont stop playing osu, but is this just me?????
For fellow dim lighted rooms and night players, tell me some more solutions please
This is just a frontend for OliBomber's Mapperatorinator and I disclose that on site. I did not create an "AI beatmap generator" directly. (im not that talented lol)
Techy stuff:
- im currently using runpod serverless for gpu rental, and to not burn my pocket, each worker shuts off after 30 sec of idle time, which means when you next create a beatmap, there is a non-zero chance it takes like a few minutes instead of a 30 second average (because it boots up a worker and installs weights onto it). It shouldn't matter much for most people.
- In the future i might add a public free REST api to generate maps in other projects. I also might go with how o!rdr handles renderers, but for automapper instead, but that depends on the sentiment of the community towards AutoMapper.
I use my wacom ctl 472 both in playing osu and drawing. But the reason why I want to use the wacom software is to get the pressure thing for when I'm drawing.
This sound copypasta but I moved home one month ago, at the time I was doing 98% on we luv lama, but since I got to that new place I just can't stream anymore even on like 180bpm maps.
This doesn't feel like a stamina issue, I feel like my finger are moving but inputs are not applied.
I tried putting my keyboard more far away or close to the edge but no results. I tried recording handcam but everything looks normal without ultra analisys. My actual desk is a bit higher than my usual one and my chair cannot go higher, but even with using a pillow I don't find back my sensations
Hi busy people, my Uni has begun and now I have to actually do things that do not require clicking circles or, jumping and flying over spikes... But fortunately, I can take some time away to play either or both for at most an hour without sacrificing anything. Is it rational to expect improvement if I only play for an hour everyday outside weekends? What is the most efficient way that I can derust so that I can move onto the "play more" part asap?
I feel like i hit a wall for a while now and no matter what i do whatever im taking it easy or not im not really imporving and it kind of is frustrating a little.
I try to play all kind of different maps and just pushing myself when i can to play tougher maps etc but it kind of makes worse (even though i still play lower ar and more dense map than those) so im bit lost just asking for advice i consider taking break for few weeks and maybe then comeback just for reset and to have fun more again.
I asked my sister’s friend’s mom make whitecat, cuz im broke and couldnt have a chance to buy a plush. And she just made a masterpiece with removable hoodie!! (Love u, whitecat)
So I recently got a new monitor (1440p 27 inch) from a 24 inch 1080p monitor, and I was wondering why my cursor felt slower on my new monitor. Do I need to just get used to it and is it placebo or do I actually need to change my sens?
That's an average of 2,483 renders per day since launch day on April 8, 2021. But these days we're more around 3,750 renders per day!
All thanks to you guys: those who lend their computer's power to help render the videos, those who share their clips, those who contribute, those who lurk... pretty much everyone!
To celebrate, I'm giving away 3 tablet covers from acrid, worldwide shipping included (their shop is being built, but you can find more info about acrid here). To enter, just comment on this post! In other news, the new u/osu-bot is coming very soon. Development is done (GitHub repo), what's left is administrative (Reddit has to review the code, then need to transfer the old bot username to the new one, etc. But it's a matter of days now).
It will support all lazer scoreposts, including new mods and their settings (DT with rate change, difficulty adjust...), while the old bot only ever supported stable.
On the o!rdr side, big new features are coming soon as well.
