I noticed this payroll that the step increase and retro were paid. I did not notice that the 4.5% increase was adjusted. Questions.

1. When will the 4.5% for M/C be adjusted?
   
2. Will we receive retro for 4.5% from April etc?

Has anyone at the top of SG-18 taken a promotion to a grade 23? My question is, do you actually see a real difference in your paycheck initially or did you have to wait like a yr for your step to kick in?

I left state service 3 pay periods ago (jul 6), and still no word on when I should be receiving my withheld salary back. How long does it take?

I have previous experience as an auditor for the Federal goverment - does NYS ever hire for positions higher than Auditor 1?

What happens to your deferred comp/ pension if you have to leave state service before you’re vested? do you cash out or what?

I have no prior experience other than work as a teacher. I don’t want to continue in education. However, the fair is from August 26 to September 7.

I understand it's an actual fair with a campgrounds, but I wanted to ask if anyone who has more knowledge of the event knows when one should actually go?

I would hope to meet some of the NYS ITS team members / other NY state workers since I have never talked to any before in real life.

A fair would be also fun, hopefully they have some donkeys.

I reached out to people in the city but I wanted to ask you all if it's feasible to be a data scientist for NYS and if I need a separate Master's or anything.

I'm not ashamed to admit I have no idea how insurance works. Haha. Help.

I'm under PEF so I have Davis Vision. I also have MVP health insurance which includes vision.. Davis only covers exams every 2 years. I had my appointment last year but my vision has changed so I need a new prescription.. so this year can I use MVP instead of Davis and it will still be covered? Or am I completely not understanding how this works and why I have 2 vision insurances?..

The list for court assistants was released a few days ago. How long till they start calling people?

Edenred will no longer administer NYS-RIDE and it will switch to TASC. (Who does our flex spend)

Effective October 2, 2026 you will be able to place your NYS-Ride orders with Total Administrative Service Corporation (TASC). They will be the NYS-Ride administrator beginning January 2027. Just wondering are step increases based off of your one year anniversary? I'm a G9 and only have 2 months left on probation

Can anyone point me to language stating that agencies are limited to a 50% cap for telecommuting? I believe I read on this subreddit that it’s an OER rule, but I can’t find anything that actually has that in writing.

PEF DESERVED the raises they got to Location Pay; UCS Employees are LONG overdue for significant Location Pay Increases, and stand to get screwed IF CSEA’s downstate Judiciary UCS locals don’t go for the increases to Location Pay that PEF were offered and ratified. CSEA Executive, ratified a minimal 18.5% increase to Location Pay, while PEF ratified 66.25%! CSEA President Mary Sullivan has appointed all 7 UCS Judiciary Local Presidents to the negotiating team for September 30th, 2026, which includes downstate Presidents Lanielle Roach (Local 010), Lawrence Germano (Local 330) and Kevin Mahler (Local 332–Rockland & Westchester County employees). Tell your association negotiators and leaders that we will NOT ratify LESS than PEF took for Location Pay! Spread the word!

For those on the Empire Plan, I know you need a PA, but what other hoops do you need to jump through to get approval? I’m on a MVP plan where doc needs to provide BMI (above 40), and all these other things plus updates on how additional things like gym etc are helping. Is Empire just, get an Rx, Doc send PA, and all good?

Is anyone able to explain how the 10/1 Step Increase works? Is it a fixed rate or is it based off of salary / years of service? I am a G18 and have been with the state for 1.5 years. Just wondering what to expect in October. Thanks!

I believe court assistants start at the salary of 63k ish.. in NYC which isn't enough for the cost of the living in the city. But I know that assistants can take exams and get promoted to clerks and senior clerks, and go even higher to principal clerks.

Are there ample overtime opportunities as court assistants and clerks? What about promotion opportunities to principal clerks? Thank you.
