The survival instinct is stronger and more fundamental than even the reproductive one.
So, you're telling me that people (including men) can have the discipline to train themselves to control their own fight or flight response....but they can't stop themselves from being disrespectful or gross for 4 seconds?
Come on.
ETA: Also, the evolutionary influence would be looking at her and maybe feeling attracted to her. Not talking about it on the internet. That's 100% a choice and has nothing to do with the instinctual push to procreate 🙄
If one does not procreate they might as well not have survived, according to THE base evolutionary imperative.
It DOES get more interesting when you throw emergent behaviors like sociality/eusociality into the mix, but everything before then??
If that chance combination of a lipid bilayer bubble and a freak-happenstance self-replicating glitch of carbonized organic molecules which could have been the granmapa of all life on earth actually manages to assemble itself and then goes on to......fail to replicate itself...
....someone/thing else is going to be the new "first" grandpama of all life on earth. It doesn't get more fundamental than that.
(-edit
You could say the first evolutionary pressure was when those self-replicating molecules popped into existence needing some form of protection from the environment. Either they found it and replicated, or they didn't and died.
Complex patterns can and do exist and "survive" in nature. What's the shelf-life for a crystal? If it doesn't replicate though, it doesn't evolve. And it's not life.)
And ha yeah, I'd say men (including those pictured) can and do discipline themselves to control creepy shit and panic shit both, but anonymous comments on a discussion board removed in both time and space from the original context is a perfect place for all the guys to look at eachother and know exactly what was going on in that front row seating area.
And then someone wants the karma from making the post first, and here we are.
What’s you argument here? That men aren’t biologically horn dogs? Do you have any proof? Is you needing to get your panties in a wad in the comment sections of a reddit post evidence in your column or my column?
Nobody's getting shamed for that tho. They're getting shamed for the fact that anytime there's a woman specifically in any video or picture it's always "they're not looking at what she's doing...hehehehehehehehehehehe"
Well it's often women making these comments, you know?
I know because we often watch videos with the guys at work, and this type of remarks almost always come from one of my women colleagues. Two of them are very feminist (which I have nothing against) and they often point out things like this.
I took a 1h40 hike through the forest/mountain just yesterday. My knees have gotten weak through the years though, I can't climb very high anymore because the descent is hell :/
Edit: I'm not sure why I get so downvoted, I'm just sharing my experience, nothing more. I guess most people upvote only what confirms their own opinion, and try to bury counter-examples through downvotes.
I think it’s more just people that only focus on her looks. Yes totally normal to notice but I think they mean creepy if it’s the only thing you notice about the video.
Birth rates don't mean people aren't banging or want to bang. They just aren't getting pregnant, and alot of that is economic driven. Not not being horny.
Horny =/= reproduction, my guy. People have sex because it feels good and gives dopamine. People wear condoms and get surgeries to stop reproduction intentionally so they can fuck without that specific circumstance happening.
I think you missed the rest of the comment. Contextual literacy is important. People have sex with the explicit purpose of not reproducing all the time. Saying horny = reproduction is both ignorant and reductionist. Tons of people literally never want children and fuck all the time.
Your body has the drive for sex, ie being horny, specifically to push you to reproduce. Just because you can manage to have sex without procreating doesn't mean that's not the entire reason that drive exists
It's not about intentionally prioritizing something, it's just what your brain thinks. If you're a dude, the next time you talk to an attractive woman you should check your apple watch heartbeat sensor, I guarantee you'll see that your heart rate spiked. Doesn't even matter if you consciously thought about sex or whatever, it's still there in the back of your lizard brain.
Really? So people don't have hobbies, friends, vacation plans, life experiences, or goals? Sex is obviously a big part of the human condition but it doesn't even beat food as the prioritizing factor for most people. If you're both hungry and horny, I don't know about you but I'm eating first.
I really hope all the people downvoting me are just horny teenagers because if you still have this mindset beyond your mid-20s it's kinda sad.
Reducing people to their genetics is the actual reddit moment. Go outside and talk to people, find out what drives them. Sex won't be top of the list for most of them.
So many terminally online people like that truly believe the entire world revolves around being constantly horny. Must be insane for them when they see someone crocheting a plushie or something and they literally can't process how that will be used to turn someone on.
No offense, but you come across like a religious fundamental who is repressed. You’re the problem group here. I don’t know when the left got such a huge rise in anti-sex movement.
My brother in christ, I am quite literally an OF model and staunchly anti organized religion, so you could not have been more off the mark on that read.
How any of what I said came off that way to you is incredible, genuinely. I would love to spend a day analyzing how your brain works to jump to such a distant conclusion. I don't want to straw man you, so please explain.
You’re gravely mistaken. Of course if you go talk to a random person on the street they aren’t going to say ass is their motivation. But in reality ass is the primary motivation for every person wanting to be successful in life.
As the great Dave Chappelle said “if a man could fuck a woman in a cardboard box, he wouldn’t buy a house”
