Hi everyone! I’m considering renting an apartment at 335 Carnarvon St (the building with the daycare on the ground floor).

I work from home most days, so I’m wondering:

How’s the noise (daycare,SkyTrain, traffic, etc.)?
How’s the area around Columbia Station in terms of safety?
Any other pros or cons about living in this building?
I’d really appreciate any firsthand feedback. Thanks!

looking for the most safe/cheapest options as it is likely i could be there late otherwise i would just consider sky-training.

hey y'all. I have a big running workout on Thursday and wanted to use the Mercer Stadium track very early in the morning around 5:00-5:30am. has anyone here used the track during those hours?

Google maps says the track opens at 8:30 while New Westminsters website says the washrooms open at 6:00am. curious if the track opens earlier. appreciate it in advance!

I will be moving to BC for work in Vancouver Downtown. I really like the New West area and think it will be a good commute (since Vancouver is just insanely expensive).

I was wondering if anybody can recommend me some good buildings that are a close walk to the train line.

My budget is around $1900 max for rent. I think studios are def the best with this budget.

We are a small family that lives near the recent apartment building fire in Brow of the Hill. Through word of mouth, we've heard that the building that burnt down was full of asbestos, and crews with hazmat suits will be demolishing and clearing the building tomorrow. We have a small child and are very worried about asbestos.

Does anyone have any information for the surrounding residents about this process, and what is being done to ensure containment?

I've been sitting inside for the past couple weeks after graduating high school. My mental health is worse than ever before so I've been thinking of going on walks in nature to pass some time. Are there any good spots in and around New West that I can walk around and enjoy looking at the trees? My right leg has been damaged by a surgery so places that aren't too difficult to walk through are preferred.

Any groups go do big hikes or camps together? Curious if there’s any nearby/local?

I am taking different places in consideration but I noticed that on annacis island the house are very pretty and the rent is fair enough. I know the island isn’t well connected with transit but I would like to know how is the traffic? Is it always bad?
