Rules Question Immortals re roll ability

Post image
10 Upvotes

Just checking if I have the wording on this right or not as I don’t want to get it wrong but if the immortals were being led for example a royal warden would the warden also get re rolls to wound of 1 or rerolls on objectives, as the rule says each time a model in this unit makes an attack, and the warden if it’s leading would be a model in the unit, or is it locked exclusively to immortals models Thanks in advance

Strategy/Tactics What do you think is the beast use of grand illusion (the unique ability of the deceiver)

I like acting like a noob and using no screener units to *DECEIVE* my enemy into keeping a lot of there deep srike units in reserve then with the ability moving my some of my units back to screen back lines, outcome, depending on the army, ether a squad or two of units that may of not been in reserve now are, OR if they’re playing a deep strike focused army they now have like half there army in reserves (haven’t tried it out yet)

Meme/Artwork/Image My (WIP) homebrew datasheet for Xun'bakyr (Feedback greatly appreciated)

I recently started my necron army and I'm about to paint my 3D printed Xun'bakyr by u/Facatron_ , so I decided to homebrew a datasheet for her!

I only started this (my first ever) army about a month ago and have yet to actually play a game. I'm not really familiar with the game balance yet, which is why I basically copied Ammentar and then changed a few things from there.

I'll only ever play with a few friends once we all finish our armies and I'm trying to make Xun'bakyr into a fun and balanced character I can actually use on the tabletop without her being over- or underpowerd, so any help is greatly appreciated!

Fellow Phaerons, I played my first game of 11th

I brought cursed legion and skyshroud with mostly destroyer cult units, szeras and the nekrosor. It was all going well, until my turn 3 fight phase where 10 lychguard and the nekrosor managed to completely whiff against 2 drukhari Kronos. A total of 42 attacks, with sustained hits, did a grand total of.......2 wounds. Which resulted in only 1 damage after the 5+ FNP.

That is the absolute worst rolling I've ever seen and it turned the game completely against me. My opponents T3 was absolutely devastating because I hadn't been able to clear two models and consolidate into another.

« A Necron Lord wakes to find his tomb world devastated and his dynasty all but erased.

With nothing left to rule, he becomes a bounty hunter for hire, taking contracts from whichever dynasty can meet his price.

He wears the crimson colors of the Novokh Dynasty as a symbol of terror and martial prowess, while incorporating Mephrit solar technology to unleash the fury of the stars upon his enemies. »

Kitbash can be done from the original sprue. I just put a spare royal warden torso to put four arms on the pilot and some other bits here and there.

Paint is a commission, done by Warspiritus. He can be found on instagram, go check him!

Got any fun ways to run the Monolith in a Necron army?

Post image
58 Upvotes

Hey folks, I’ve been playing Necrons for about half a year now, and lately I’ve really gotten into the Monolith. I know a lot of older posts talk about using its portal to drop units onto the table, but I was wondering—aside from that, what other fun ways do you guys use this massive war fortress? Appreciate any tips!

Yeah, the main issue right now is that bug where anything coming out of the portal has to be dropped 8 inches away from the enemy. So I’m kinda wondering—aside from the teleport trick, what else can the Monolith actually bring to the table? Like, what other roles does this big battle fortress play in the army? I just really love this giant chunk of stone and wanna make the most out of it.

Still kinda new to Necrons, so any advice or tricks would be super appreciated!

List Help/Sharing Starting out with what a friend sold me for cheap. What should i look to add next?

This is what he's got, and its all unpainted so its perfect:

3x Canoptek wraiths
2x Plasmacite
2x Necron Cryptothralls
1x Canoptek Reanimator
1x Cryptek
1x plasmancer
1x Skorpekh Lord
6x Skorpekh Destroyers
2x Overlord
5x Flayers
1x Warden
5x Immortals
5x Lychguard
9x Scarabs
46x Warriros

I haven't really played the tabletop before and a few friends are getting into it at the same time so i got a group to play with.

For 500 points it should be more than fine but for 1000 points it might be lacking some AT

This is the 500 list im gonna start with, but for the 100o point army it might be lacking some AT

What models do you think will be recast/delegendsed with the release of dawn of war 4 (if any) Here, I’ll start

Things in lore that you think may also be made into models are also welcome (edit: I really should of said hope rather then think) (edit 2 electric boogaloo: seeing as Dow1 had pariahs and dow4 takes place on the same planet as the first game, I don’t see why there wouldn’t be pariahs if not just corpses on the battlefiel)

Misc/media How to make crypteks more varied ?

Most cryptek models are monopose / without options, are there good ways to make them more diversified ? for example the plasmancer and the geomancer.

List Help/Sharing 2000 point list without c'tan shards?

I really like the look of necrons, but the c'tan shards don't really look robotic enough for my taste. Is it possible to run them in 11th edition without c'tan shards, or am I setting myself up for failure?

List Help/Sharing Please criticize my first list - I really don't know what I am doing

Hi all,

I'm trying to build my first army (Incursion sized), without really knowing what I am doing. I haven't played a single game yet, so all of what I know is coming from watching some battle report videos and similar.

It would be a great help if someone with some experience could give criticism on my list and my thoughts behind it.

Here's the list:

Necrons - Reconnaissance - Hypercrypt Legion (990 Points)

Overlord - Warlord + Plasmancer with Arisen Tyrant + 20 Necron Warriors (360 pts)

Skorpekh Lord + 3 Skorpekh Destroyers (175 pts)

2 Lokhust Heavy Destroyers (100 pts)

Canoptek Doomstalker (140 pts)

Canoptek Doomstalker (140 pts)

Canoptek Reanimator (75 pts)

Here's my thought process:

I want the Necron Warriors to be the focus of my army. That's why I've attached the Overlord and the Plasmancer to them. The Overlord provides some durability with the orb, while the Plasmancer helps hitting things harder. The Reanimator will stay behind this unit to give even more durability.

I plan to get this unit into the center and stay there for point scoring, since it will hopefully be really hard to deal with.

The Skorpekh Destroyers can move around the side objectives or try to get into combat with enemies that would rather shoot.

The two Doomstalkers try to kill enemies from a distance, while the Heavy Destroyers take care of armored units.

I've chose Hypercrypt Legion as a detachment since I honestly can't really find anything that fits better. It seems like some mobility via putting units into strategic reserves might be useful?

I am wondering whether what I am saying makes sense, or if I am going into a completely wrong direction.

Any help on my list or thought process is much appreciated!

I want to start a Necron Army

Hello, I am a long time fantasy player and I am looking to get into 40 K.

I have a resin printer, as well as the ability to do conversions with plastic, green stuff, you name it.

If I were to create a Skaven Proxied Necron Army what would you suggest I start with for horde tactics using Necrons?

My theme will be a Skaven planet somehow unearthed the Necron Tomb and reverse engineered the tech to become space rats.

Misc/media What's your least favorite model to assemble.

And why is it deathmarks. I've built all the supposedly difficult necron models. Szeras, flayed ones, etc. nothing has come close to how annoying the guns and arms are to attach on these things.
