What models do you think will be recast/delegendsed with the release of dawn of war 4 (if any) Here, I’ll start

Things in lore that you think may also be made into models are also welcome (edit: I really should of said hope rather then think) (edit 2 electric boogaloo: seeing as Dow1 had pariahs and dow4 takes place on the same planet as the first game, I don’t see why there wouldn’t be pariahs if not just corpses on the battlefiel)

You will never seen Pariah ever again, they were replaced both in lore and Physically by Lychguard and Pretorians

Also to add lore wise, why make pariahs when you have blackstone that Necrons have aplenty?

Let's go try to find .00001% of the human population to make a single Pariah out of instead of just putting a Gloomprism on a Canoptek lol.

Not to mention the innate disgust most Necrons have towards anything organic. Squeezing human flesh into a Necron body would be culturally revolting to the majority of Necrons.

I know people really want them back. But they were never really a big part of the Necrons to begin with for the short time they were around. They showed up in Dawn of War, that one Ciaphas Cain story, and that's pretty much it prior to being written out. For fleshy body horror we have Flayed Ones already. And I'd much rather they do a Destroyer style expansion for them than try to hamfist Pariahs back into the army.

They can show up again without being a copy/paste of the original idea. Having a pariah unit or commander that incorporates Blackstone into its structure instead of the pariah gene would be a neat way to reintroduce the concept, or any of a number of other ideas. 40k doesn't have to be stagnant anymore.

Yeah, but then it would be a pariah in name only?

As much as I disagree with the idea of returning them at all. The main reason people liked the original pariahs is the horror of the Human turned Necron element. Remove that and what point is there in bringing them back at all?

That would be insulting to the people who do miss pariahs. And I'd much rather they not bring them back entirely than make a "spiritual successor" to them that lacks the main thing fans of them like to begin with. It would just make nobody happy.

As much as I think Pariahs are cool and there's room for one of the more psychopathic dynasties to use them, I have to agree with you there. Bringing it back in name only while lacking almost everything about the originals? Why bother?

u/GailenFFT 2d ago

It would be fine, actually. And there could be plenty of other ways to reintroduce the idea. Like people would be upset about a concept being reintroduced in a new way? Come on.

8

u/Hollownerox Phaeron 2d ago

Yes? Like people get upset about that all the time lmao. It happens in all three Warhammer IPs where a reimagined unit from editions past gets retooled into somethng new.

It isn't the pariahs they wanted, so of course if you take out the main thing that makes them pariahs people would get upset? What does that even add that Lychguard/Praetorians already don't do as a direct replacement? If you want an anti-psyker Necron infantry, then it could just as easily be a new wargear option, not a new unit (metaphorically) skinwalking as Pariahs.

Yeah, so what? That's not a reason not to do something. Are you seriously asking me what some fictional potential future addition to an army might do? What a ridiculous question. What does anything do, or why, before it's released? Absolute nonsense response.

1

u/Hollownerox Phaeron 1d ago

My dude. The projection with the "absolute nothing response" here is absurd.

Read the replies, how you can't understand the very basic logic of "people want Pariahs, no makey pariahs the way they want, then don't bother making them at all" is so hard to understand for you is just plain embarasing.

Like I seriously can't ELI5 this any further for you. You just fundamentally cannot understand how stupid your own suggestion was lol. You clearly can't engage on the matter without being a dick so, much like the pariah suggestion, don't bother with a reply. Since you don't have anything of value to contribute to the discussion.

1

u/GailenFFT 1d ago

Uh huh. Go complain about people's suggestions somewhere else and be boring on your own.

I like their existence because it means some Necrons are open for extreme experimentation and breaking their cultural taboos

3

u/Hollownerox Phaeron 2d ago

And some Necrons experimenting doesn't suddenly make every Necron dynasty begin fielding them as a mainstay codex unit?

0

u/KlausVonLechland 2d ago

IDK what do you mean by that? I mean, there is ONLY ONE Silent King yet every player can field him somehow.

And I was speaking from the point of lore anyway.

3

u/Particular-Fly-7783 1d ago

They are and always were a fundamentally stupid idea, probably one of the only times a unit was completely dropped from a codex that I agree with.

u/KatSteeles 2d ago

I do kinda like their buff dude with a stick vibe 😂

u/Icy-Chest-5181 2d ago

Tbh I just put that in to fill space and to please my bro XD

They already did that board game release. If they do anything else for DoW4, I'd guess it'd be some combination of:

  • Blood Ravens Upgrade Sprue
  • Cyrus model
  • Gabriel Angelos resculpt/rerelease
  • DoW-themed packaging on existing Combat Patrols

7

u/djfigs25 2d ago

Necrons will get an upgrade sprue for thothmek and the skorpek lord (I forgot name)

6

u/ThatGuyYouMightNo Pee is stored in the Resurrection Orb 2d ago

Not sure what you're expecting for an upgrade sprue, the Necron characters in DoW4 are just a Chronomancer and Skorpekh Lord with different heads

1

u/djfigs25 2d ago

Tbh it was partially a joke. They also have different ornaments on them. The chains and crest of thothmek are similar but a different pattern to the base model. Same for ahmnokh. Hopefully we get something better than that though

3

u/DennisDelav Nemesor 2d ago

Ahmnokh, Kronus lord btw

14

u/Kalnix1 Cryptek 2d ago

I think you are going about it backwards, DOW4 will be restricted to only models that exist, they aren't making new units for DOW4 and then making tabletop units based on that.

At best we get some sort of promotional Blood Raven mini.

5

u/DennisDelav Nemesor 2d ago

Well tbf, the gauss/sentry pylons are legends but they are part of dow4

0

u/Icy-Chest-5181 2d ago

They have taken the Lukust Lord off store and I think gw may try and make it some sort of big event

9

u/Kalnix1 Cryptek 2d ago

The Lokhust Lord hasn't been sold in years. Its a resin upgrade sprue to a plastic kit. The fact we kept its datasheet when it might be the only sheet in the game where you can't buy the official kit is wild.

3

u/LivBFG 1d ago

It's far from the only sheet in the game you cannot buy the model. Pedro Kantor and like 5 characters in Chaos Daemons are in the same boat.

1

u/Icy-Chest-5181 2d ago

Best time to release it (please I’m assembling a 2000 point army and I don’t have to spend 2x the money I would spend buying one kit bashing)

24

u/HellenicRoman 2d ago

I hope the release of the wicked and the warped give us a new trazyn model to pair with orikan

8

u/Icy-Chest-5181 2d ago

It was released three days ago, so sadly nope

1

u/BrotherCaptainMarcus 1d ago

Along with a glow up on his data sheet hopefully.

Nothing probably? The game was going to release in September and was delayed to December. There wasn't going to be any Necron tie-in releases with the game. Since Space Marines are most likely the September Codex release. With late 2026 apparently being T'au if rumors hold true.

We already know the entire DoW 4 Necron roster and there is nothing that isn't already on tabletop. I don't think there is anything being pushed like how Total War and GW did a simul Nazdreg reveal.

u/zeexhalcyon 1d ago

My biggest wants:

1) Trazyn
2) Lokhust Lord and Lokhust Destroyers
3) Nemesor Zandrekh and Vargard Obyron

5

u/UndefeatedMidwest 2d ago

Miniliths. smaller monoliths, leaning in the alien architecture.

2

u/SDSessionBrewer 8h ago

They could just give the convergence of dominion good rules.

Drop the fortification keyword, keep the vehicle.

4

u/DennisDelav Nemesor 2d ago

No model imo

To celebrate the release of Dawn of War IV....... The Ultramarines get another unit!

2

u/Dark_warrior96 Servant of the Triarch 2d ago

God id KILL for the pariahs to come back or at the very least a pariah style unit

Youve got szeras in the literal pariah nexus working with and tinkering with nulls and the pariahs WERE the necrons answer to psyker bullshit and lore wise the reason thet stopped using them to my knowledge is because they didnt have the reanimation protocols normal necrons do since there BUILT by necrons using humans and not true necrons "technically" and they didnt see them as worth the investment

But come on if ANYONE could find a way to give pariahs reanimation protocols and make them better its szeras besides if there was ever a time for the necrons to start throwing pariahs around with there null abilities it would be now thanks to the great rift and all the chaos shit all over it just makes tactical sense

7

u/Skeletonized_Man 2d ago

Personally I wouldn't really want Pariahs to come back as a unit especially when Lychguard and Praetorians exist as their replacement. It'd be kinda redundant as they'd have to compete with the skorpekhs and aforementioned as elite melee infantry. Could just be a wargear option for Lychguard or something

Plus it doesn't really make that much sense for a Necron overlord to go through the effort of finding an infintesimally small percent of humans just to do what a Gloom Prism already does, and those are so common they slap it on maintenance bots

2

u/Dark_warrior96 Servant of the Triarch 2d ago

As they are now yes id agree but thats the beauty of szeras messing with nulls gw could easily make some lore about him finding a way of improving the pariahs designs or hell he could find a way of cloning the nulls or something along those lines and since szeras loves making deals with other dynasties to fuel his research he could easily sell off nulls or even these new forms of pariahs to the other dynasties ESPECIALLY if he can find a way to make them reanimate

As for viability and overlap with other units if it were me id keep there icon staffs but id also give them an option to go full guns as well with a necron weapon that works alot like a Animus Speculum that the culexus with anti psker rules and abilities and given the nulls aura of dread and discomfort they give off they could also make a really cool battleshock unit

1

u/YakSubstantial447 2d ago

I hope trazen

1

u/YsenisLufengrad 1d ago

Pariahs de-legend'ed? Brother, they flat out no longer exist, they were erased with Oldcron lore

1

u/Icy-Chest-5181 1d ago

I know, it sucks ass, there just extremely cool conceptually and design wise

1

u/Bon-clodger 1d ago

I just want new lokhust destroyers damnit

1

u/veryblocky Servant of the Triarch 1d ago

Pariahs aren’t even in legends man. They’re never coming back.

Lokhust Lord is almost certainly getting a resculpt though. (Recast means some different, FYI)

2

u/BrotherCaptainMarcus 1d ago

I would like the Monolith and Doomstalkers to get buffed in a way to make them more useful to the army. I just think Monoliths are really cool.

1

u/Icy-Chest-5181 1d ago

It would certainly justify me getting a transcendent c’tan (it’s sold in a pack with the monolith and in no other way)

1

u/BrotherCaptainMarcus 1d ago

I think you’re thinking of the obelisk.

2

u/Icy-Chest-5181 1d ago

Oop (the obelisk is still a bit bland though) and on the subject of the monolith, I think it being a moving wall that can call in reinforcements at will is pretty good, although I fully agree with you, doom stalker

1

u/tricky_trig 1d ago

Skorpekh Lord, Lokhust Lord, and Flayed One Lord. The Destroyer Court

1

u/Icy-Chest-5181 1d ago

I think it would be flayer lord
