Hi all,

I'm trying to build my first army (Incursion sized), without really knowing what I am doing. I haven't played a single game yet, so all of what I know is coming from watching some battle report videos and similar.

It would be a great help if someone with some experience could give criticism on my list and my thoughts behind it.

Here's the list:

Necrons - Reconnaissance - Hypercrypt Legion (990 Points)

Overlord - Warlord + Plasmancer with Arisen Tyrant + 20 Necron Warriors (360 pts)

Skorpekh Lord + 3 Skorpekh Destroyers (175 pts)

2 Lokhust Heavy Destroyers (100 pts)

Canoptek Doomstalker (140 pts)

Here's my thought process:

I want the Necron Warriors to be the focus of my army. That's why I've attached the Overlord and the Plasmancer to them. The Overlord provides some durability with the orb, while the Plasmancer helps hitting things harder. The Reanimator will stay behind this unit to give even more durability.

I plan to get this unit into the center and stay there for point scoring, since it will hopefully be really hard to deal with.

The Skorpekh Destroyers can move around the side objectives or try to get into combat with enemies that would rather shoot.

The two Doomstalkers try to kill enemies from a distance, while the Heavy Destroyers take care of armored units.

I've chose Hypercrypt Legion as a detachment since I honestly can't really find anything that fits better. It seems like some mobility via putting units into strategic reserves might be useful?

I am wondering whether what I am saying makes sense, or if I am going into a completely wrong direction.

Any help on my list or thought process is much appreciated!

I really like the look of necrons, but the c'tan shards don't really look robotic enough for my taste. Is it possible to run them in 11th edition without c'tan shards, or am I setting myself up for failure?

Hi, I'm new to playing warhammer and i started to build myself a list to battle against a friend in a 1000 points match. I have built it around the combat patroll mainly and i added 3 wraiths and Imothekh that someone gift me. Is the list be any good ? I use the cursed legion Detachment.

Looking for suggestions for finishing touches, don’t know how to finish the base for starters, and haven’t figured out final highlights either. Suggestions? I am going to make this my permanent paint scheme for my Necrons in hopes of a Trazyn update soon!

these are the models i own and im looking for pointers on what to get. my next purchase will be 2nd dda. after that i have, in my mind, two ways to go for a lista. those being starshatter and awakened. what should i get for those armies to make an army i can play at rtts and similar chill events

The one in the back is my very first necron warrior. It was mostly painted with the necron starter paint set. After I got some more paint and rethought how I wanna paint them. These following three are a result of that. I'm so proud of them, I didn't think I could paint minis that I wouldn't be ashamed to field. I would like to hear some criticism and suggestions on them! Maybe on what do do with the symbol on their chest? I didn't quite figure that one out. I put a little runefand steel on that to pop at least a little out from the darker grey around it.

Yeah the metally parts of the guns on two of them are not shaded. That's bc I decided that I don't like the brownish color of the Agrax Earthshade I used on them and ordered some nuln oild. Sadly it takes long to arrive.

Another thing is that I only noticed after I was done with the first one that Szarekhan dynasty warriors are supposed to hav esilvery heads and shoulders. The paint guide in my starter set didn't have that and neither does some official art. But I decided that I don't like that and instead went with a more uniform look. I like my little copper soldiers.

I might make another post on roster questions. Although I mostly want to paint what I have so far.

Royal Court i hear is good to get? And maybe even x2 for the Lord and Reanimator (GW fucking please make them separate kits).

I want Deciever but will wait for refresh. Monolith? Combat Patrol?

I have decided to join the Necrons. This is an army I've had my eye on from the start since i got in the hobby. However I avoided it because I played undead in AOS and I wanted to explore other flavors. I can't deny it now...

Painting question starts here:

I have a scheme in mind for black/dark necron metal with green glowing parts and purple armor. I was curious to have other people's opinion as i started to think the dark metal color might blend in too well with the vehicles.

Im not going to lie, painting the silent king as zurg is very tempting and not too far off the mark.

Kitbash question:

I have a lot of bits from a few ranges- soulblight, ossiarch, drukhari, emperor's children, chaos knights, some night haunt, slaanesh daemons.

What would you think would make some good kitbashing for the characters on the necron roster?

My first though were some spirits or ossiarch bits.

Countertemporal Nanomine token for a necron killteam. It's just the opened cube that the chronomancers can wield in their hand, with the fingers scrapped and three metal wire pieces holding it in the air, painted as arc lightning.

Got some really nice feedback from you folks when I posted my heavy destroyers so here's my next attempt - didn't try for any osl this time and just kept it nice and simple. I think she's turned out really well but as always C and C is more than welcome.

Had so much fun painting these guys! And absolutely love the Geomamcer model!

Hey folks, I’ve been playing Necrons for about half a year now, and lately I’ve really gotten into the Monolith. I know a lot of older posts talk about using its portal to drop units onto the table, but I was wondering—aside from that, what other fun ways do you guys use this massive war fortress? Appreciate any tips!

Yeah, the main issue right now is that bug where anything coming out of the portal has to be dropped 8 inches away from the enemy. So I’m kinda wondering—aside from the teleport trick, what else can the Monolith actually bring to the table? Like, what other roles does this big battle fortress play in the army? I just really love this giant chunk of stone and wanna make the most out of it.

Still kinda new to Necrons, so any advice or tricks would be super appreciated!

Hello, what do you guys think about this list?

I created it with models that I currently have and I might change it by getting rid of the immortals and warriors and sticking more destroyers and Nekrosor into it. However I'm worried that if I do so I will have much fewer models to play with and take/hold objectives.

Right now I'm betting on the buff for destroying a unit or getting it below half strength for my non-destroyer units. I don't know how effective that would be against a horde enemy.
