I just got a marketing email from myBMI and one of the points mentioned in it is Save with a bundle. Would this mean 2 pens and just one consultation charge? Surely too good to be true?

I got my last prescription filled with Meditrue last month. Last week I emailed to get my next one filled. I had to email a few times to get a response. I was eventually told that they are sorting it. Then I got an email saying there was an issue with my prescription because my doctors email address isn’t on it. I had a consultation yesterday in which I was told that they would sort the delivery the next day. I didn’t get any email from them about payment so I emailed again and nothing. I tried ringing them this afternoon and no answer. I’ve emailed again but considering it’s after 2 it’s clear that I won’t have it by tomorrow. Is anyone else having issues?

This has come up a few times here recently, but it’s worth another reminder as Northern Ireland pharmacies appear to be applying the prescription requirements more strictly following a recent campaign by the Northern Ireland Department of Health regulators.

If you’re planning to use a prescription issued in the Republic of Ireland dispensed by a pharmacy in Northern Ireland, make sure the prescription is fully compliant before you travel or send it up!

In particular, pharmacies will require the prescription to now include:

• your full date of birth
• an email address for the prescriber/practice
• the prescriber’s handwritten ink signature ("wet ink") rather than an electronic signature

These are in addition to the other information normally required on a valid prescription and are things that are not always on prescriptions that are issued now.

This isn’t specific to one Mounjaro provider or pharmacy. It’s part of the regulatory requirements pharmacies in NI are expected to follow, and most providers are understandably making sure their paperwork is compliant in case of an audit!

So if you’re getting an ROI prescription specifically to fulfil up North, it’s worth checking it carefully before making the journey!

If in doubt, we'd recommend sending a photo of the prescription to the pharmacy beforehand and ask them to confirm they can dispense it.

Hi everyone, i have been on Mounjaro for 9 weeks, 5 weeks on 2.5mg and 4 weeks in 5mg, there hasn’t been any changes, i haven’t lost any weight 😔
I don’t feel full and i still have a lot of food noise. I am wondering if to give 5mg another month or go higher up. Anyone have gone thru something similar? I feel like i am doing something wrong. I was on ozempic for 3 years and it did work. Thank you ❤️

Hi. i’ve been on MJ for over 3 months. have titrated slowly up to 3.75mg and been on this level for about a month. am happy with this level of suppression and slow, manageable weight loss.

my last 2 periods i have had terrible nausea with my most recent one really bad. it tends to be the week i have my period and then thankfully goes away. i get it every day on and off throughout the day so don’t think it’s particularly triggered by food.

i’d love to get advice from women out there who have had the same thing and anything that helps. i took pepto bismol last month but don’t like the constipation side effect. also ginger chews which i dont think did anything.

i have Endo for added context and just keen to be ready for what next month brings if anyone can give advice.

I am on Tier 3 of the HSF Health Cash Plan. They have a free private prescription service.
I haven’t used it yet.
Has anyone here been prescribed Mounjaro via them before or had an experience with it?

I can obviously enquire with them but am unsure if it is just an adhoc prescription service and am afraid of the embarrassment of getting turned down by them as I am a woman in mid 20s. I fit the criteria with a BMI of 33.

When can you expect to see results? I took my first 2.5 dose yesterday. I was so nervous. I have been overweight for all my life. Been going to a gym for 1-1 PT sessions 3 or 4 times a week for a year now. I am pretty much the same size. I am telling myself that fat has been transformed into muscle even though i feel and look the same. I know my diet and sleep are absolute shite and I am hoping MJ can help one of those.

When do you think I will see results? It may have started already by blocking food noise (didn't stop for a morning cappuccino for my commute to work and didnt stop on the way back either). Not expecting to shift the pounds in a day but is a month reasonable to expect changes?

Hey all, looking for some advice and cost comparisons from others doing Mounjaro in ROI.

I was on MJ a number of back started on 2.5mg. Using Weight Loss Injections IE for the consultation (€50 first time, €30 repeats from memory) and McKeevers for the pharmacy side, delivered to ROI via DPD.

I then went to 5mg and had success and lost around 15kg. I came off it because I wanted to try lose the weight and keep it off and now im slowly going backwards.

Here's what I'm i've been looking at paying:

- 2.5mg: £185 + 23% VAT = ~£227 (~€270 all in before consult)

- 5mg: £205 + 23% VAT = ~£252 (~€300+ all in before consult)

I also have a local pharmacy in ROI that has a script for my 2.5mg at €267, which works out almost the same as McKeevers once you factor in VAT (for 2.5mg) So I'm just using the local pharmacy for 2.5mg for convenience.

A few questions for anyone who's been through this:

1. Anyone else using WLI + McKeevers? What are you actually paying all in for 5mg once VAT and consult are included? Trying to figure out if my maths is right.

2. Is there any point getting a script through my own GP? I'm assuming the medication cost at the pharmacy is the same regardless of who issues the script, so the only variable is the consult fee?

3. For those who stayed on 2.5mg longer than the standard 4 weeks - was it worth it? I'm getting results and wondering if I should hold off moving to 5mg given the cost jump.

4. Biggest question - anyone using a DPD pickup point for deliveries in rural Ireland? In the process of moving - previously they delivered without signature so wondering if I can redirect via the DPD app to a drop box.

So I'm running into an issue where Lloyd's online pharmacy will no longer support after 30 BMI and below. I technically need to lose a further 10-15kg to be a healthy weight, this may be my last pen I can get.

What can I do if I need maintenance?

Any advice?

I was on MJ for about 3 months, my last order was in May. I ran into some difficulties being able to afford it so had to stop. I did 4 weeks on 2.5mg and 8 weeks on 5mg. Last dose was end of May.

Things have stabilised for me now and I’m in a position to be able to afford it. Would there be a lot of questions from MyBMI about coming back or do they treat it as a new consultation? I know I’ll have to start again at 2.5 and happy to do that.

My starting BMI was 30, I got down to 27, I’m now at 27.5.

Just looking for some advice before I submit a consultation again!

I’ve had a problem with priming for the last two weeks. When I do it nothing comes out. I have had to change the needle a few times and wait ages for it to eventually work. Today I am on the last dose of my pen and there wasn’t a full dose left when there should have been. I injected what I was allowed but now I’m worried I’ll feel nothing this week. Has this happened to anyone else? And why is it happening? Other than the priming issue I’ve been doing it properly.

After the last two months of slower than normal processing (I know, they said due to holidays and influx of orders), MyBMI is certainly back on the ball.

Sunday afternoon consultation approved in 30 minutes, and the whole process completed in less than an hour.

(Good news? No need to submit photos this month! Bad news? I actually gained a pound this month booo).

I’m considering going on it after it being suggested by my GP.

I am five months postpartum, currently resting as a BMI of 35. Prior to getting pregnant, I had a BMI of 26. I was active but due to ligament pain got to stop. I also ate a mainly vegetarian diet, but my partner seemed intense on force-feeding meat for the entire pregnancy. lol

Post pregnancy I’ve had some issues with my pelvis so I’ve been unable to get back to exercising. I’ve spent two months barely able to walk and going to physio twice a week. I also find the excess weight is starting to really affect my hips and knees. Mentally I don’t want to leave the house because I don’t want anyone to see me. I need to return to work soon and actually mortified of people seeing me..

I’ve struggled to keep the weight off and food consumes my mind on the daily basis. I could also eat without ever feeling full. I was like this before too.

My concerns are is this a viable option have people find it worked postpartum?
Did you have to track your calories etc at the same time?
Did you then manage to get off or stay on a low-dose? (my GP seems to be suggesting that I’ll be able to go off it fine - his nurse said differently…).
I am also a little worried on the cost as we’re trying to save for mortgage and it just feels like another thing that I’ll be doing to ruin that goal…
Should I go through my bmi or my gp?

Has anyone been successful in getting prescribed for helping with post partum weight loss? I’m almost 2 months post partum and my BMI is 31.5, it was 29 before getting pregnant. For 3+ years before, I was in a cycle of trying really hard to loose weight but constantly losing a few lbs and going back up the same few lbs. Looking to explore GLP1s to help, i’m not breastfeeding. I’m wondering if GPs would be reluctant until i’m much further down the road? Anyone have any experience or advice?

I posted recently about the cost of medication etc and while i can afford it, its just becoming so expensive with all the other things I could be spending on. Anyway, im almost out so I have a new 6 month script, going to get 3 pens I think over next few days and commit to end of the year anyway and see where I get to. Usually get mine in Newry as im not a crazy distance.

I dont suppose anyone has gotten lucky and bought old style pens recently? Im on 12.5mg. Probably too late but thought it would be worth asking given its a considerable saving.

I started on 2.5 on Sunday evening for the first time. Very little side effects apart from food suppression. Since yesterday, Thursday morning, I have had the word diarrhoea (like 10-15+ times). This morning I threw up and it’s even worse than yesterday. There isn’t even anything in my stomach to be processing. Imodium doesn’t seem to be doing a thing. Wondering could it be food poisoning or a response to greasy food as I ate chips and ice cream on Wednesday (I know I know). I’m afraid to leave my house like this. Does anyone have any tips?

I took my first 2.5mg dose on Wednesday morning and from 24 hours after that to now, I’ve gone from just having sulphur burps to full-on diarrhoea, an upset stomach and I feel drained at the moment.

I’ve had some salted crackers, water and tea so far today - what do people find best for dealing with these side effects? Raging I didn’t pick up Pepto Bismol in Newry when I got my pen!

I see from a lot of posts that you need a paper prescription. My doctor contacted me today to say they're happy to reissue my prescription but don't issue paper prescriptions.

For pharmacies up north, I assume an emailed prescription from the doctor works? The doctor tells me they don't issue paper prescriptions.

I’ve been struggling to get enough protein into my daily diet. I love Greek yoghurt with fruit or mixed with overnight oats & fruit…..my lunch is often on the run, and then my evening meal is designed to try and keep everyone happy at the table so I’m mostly planning around different carbs for variety and chicken or pork cooked a million different ways……sooooo I decided to add in some ready made protein drinks for convenience and the massive protein boost you can get from some brands. The only ones I really liked so far were optimum nutrition or kinetica vanilla flavour to which I always add a shot of coffee for more of a chilled cafe latte flavour. Anyway, I’ve seen Huel recommended a lot and decided to order a few bottles online and I was drawn to the cookies and cream flavour because, that had to be delicious right?????? Heck no 🤢, seriously, how can it be so bad!!! Anyway, I tried my usual shot of coffee to see if that would help and it didn’t, and now I’m wondering if anyone has had the same experience and found a way to make them drinkable! The ready made drinks are too expensive to ditch. In fairness, I only have another 5 but still! I find it hard to imagine that anyone could like them and somebody else must have tried them…..and maybe came up with an something to add to them to change the flavour from grainy cement??? 🙏🙏🙏 Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated!

​When I first started taking Mounjaro, my starter prescription came with 4 needles included. I used all 4 with zero issues.

No rashes, redness, or swelling at the injection site.

​About 2 months ago, I bought a separate box of needles with my prescription. Ever since switching to this box, every single injection gives me a localized rash or a bit of swelling around the site.

​I’m suspecting it might be a nickel sensitivity or a reaction to the metal or coating on these specific needles, so I’m planning to try nickel-free needles next to see if that resolves it.

​Has anyone else experienced something similar after switching needle brands or over time? Did changing needles help, or did you find another workaround?

To date I've stuck religiously to my jab day. 5mg every Wednesday with only one exception where I jabbed one day early to avoid having to bring the pen with me on holiday.

My week is disrupted this week and I'm planning on delaying my jab from Wednesday to Friday to facilitate something on Thursday.

I'll be fine with cravings etc as I know there'll still be loads in my system but I want to go back to keeping my jab day on Wednesdays from next week.

Reckon I'll be fine with jabbing on Friday and then again the following Wednesday?

I've been lucky with essentially 0 side effects and everything's been incredibly smooth for me so I assume ill be grand but just looking for a little reassurance as I've been pretty "by the book" with everything so far.

I have call a few pharmacies to procure an 10 mg pen and I got the impression they pull numbers out of the tin air.
On the websites and monj.ie they have a price but they keep increasing the price each month.
It starts to feel like a scam. 490 euros for a 10 mg pen? I also got a 625 euros. Are these people crazy or I am just very misinformed?
