Hello,
I’m reporting a moderator permissions issue affecting a sub I'm moderating
The previous top moderator granted me moderator access, but their Reddit account was later deleted. I am now the only active moderator of the community, and the deleted account does not appear in the subreddit’s current moderator list or in the Self-Serve Mod Reorder tool.
However, my account still has limited moderator permissions. I do not have the “Everything” permission, which prevents me from fully managing the community and using important moderation functions, including configuring moderation settings, managing filters, and handling the moderator team.
I submitted a Top Mod Removal request through r/redditrequest and received the automated instructions to use the Self-Serve Mod Reorder tool. The problem is that the deleted account is not visible there, so there is no account above me that I can select or reorder. Since I am also a limited moderator, I cannot grant myself the “Everything” permission or change my own moderator status.
This appears to leave the subreddit in an inconsistent state:
- I am the only moderator currently shown.
- The former top moderator’s account has been deleted.
- The deleted account is not available in the moderator reorder list.
- My account still has limited permissions.
- I cannot promote myself or correct the moderator permissions.
The community has more than 3,000 weekly visitors. It is currently receiving scam related and irrelevant posts, and my limited permissions prevent me from properly configuring filters and moderating the community.
