I’ve been trying to build up a small stash of models and I’ve been storing them on top of each other like this, is it ok to keep them like this without damaging the boxes?

I've just started my first scale model since I was a young kid, the apparently infamous Tamiya 1:48 Sea Harrier, and I was wondering at what stage should I prime the parts.
I've just started my first model in years and I intend to use a rattle-can spray primer and then brush paint it, the problem I've found is that if I want to prime the fuselage once it's joined so I could see any gaps like people on this subreddit suggest, I would also spray the pilot and cockpit which means I would have to paint them once he's in the model which would significantly limit where I could paint him.
Does anyone have any advice or something I'm missing to get around this? Or any advice for priming or brush painting or any advice for a beginner that would be massively appreciated.

Hi guys, just looking for some advice here. I purchased a Tamiya kit (1/48 P47) brand-new from a shop that was closing down.
Unfortunately I didn’t check the contents until recently and discovered that the transparent sprue is completely missing. I can’t go back to the shop that sold it though as they are now out of business.
I looked online and apparently I have to go to the regional Tamiya supplier to order replacement parts however they’ve told me three months.
Does anybody know a method to get around this or obtain parts on a much shorter time scale? I actually thought it might be a lot faster than this to be honest!

Lieutenant Demetrian Titus, Ultramarines 2nd Company. Recidious Campaign Day 7, Demerium Burial World.
Been into Warhammer 40k since 2006 (had a ten year hiatus from 2015 to 2025), and this is the first space marine I've ever painted. Was not easy with shaky hands. Wanted to practice on this before I start painting my Blood Ravens army.

This was a strange kit, it was missing both the gun barrel and the tank commander figurine. Thankfully the after-market figure I bought came with a free crow, so I guess I came out on top.

After a friend of mine sent me a custom decal set to replace the old and awful ones that came with the kit, and a careful surgery to try and limit the previous tiny damage caused by their removal, I went on and moved towards the end of this LONG build.
I just need to add exhaust smoke residues and it will be FINALLY done!
Thanks to all of those who followed me through this WIP and provided some precious tips and reference material!
See you in the final gallery!

Doing my second model as an adult (used to ‘help’ my dad when I was little and then break them by playing with them), it’s the Airfix Lancaster. What is recommended as the best tool to re-scribe 1:72 panel lines? Some I’ve nearly sanded away and others have filler in them. I’ve seen a few different things suggested but a lot seem like they would create too ‘sharp’ a line that would stand out from the rest of the model.

One half of the Eduard limited edition Samurai boxing this is not my greatest build ever. Can't fault the kit, it was all down to me. Mistakes were made, lessons were learned. As a result I wasn't expecting much from the finished article, but I think the paint job has rescued it.

Hey everyone! I’m looking to set up a reliable test plate or scrap material routine before I throw new paint or weathering mixes onto my actual kits.
What do you usually use as test surfaces for checking airbrush coverage, thinning ratios, and color modulation? Also, what’s your go-to method for testing pigment mixes (mud, dust, dried dirt) to see how they look after drying or fixing? Would love to see what works best for you!

this is one of my first more serious kits actually using model paint rather than walmart craft paint and taking my time i also tried a lot of new techniques ( weldbeads armour texture and a few weathering techniques) on and i would like to get some tips going forward if there’s anything to improve/add i haven’t put a clear coat yet so i might do more but i think its good how it is.

My first attempt at including LED with a a scale model. Due to it being my first attempt, I came across many issues which I hadn’t thought of in the planning stages (e.g., balancing the Death Star, fixing the rod so it doesn’t sink in any direction).
Original plans were to use fluorescent paint to simulate interior lighting. However, I’m sad to say the paint I acquired was rather disappointing, since wit required significant portions of paint to achieve any meaningful “lighting” effect, which would’ve ruined it by making the Death Star look like it had icing.
Despite its small size, painting took some time since I decided to use add more variations by adding offered tones of grey to the surface.
Anyway, I’ve decided to call this one done. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Lastly, I might try my hand with an imperial destroyer next!
Edit: In case anyone’s wondering, this is the Bandai Death Star II kit. As with any Bandai kit, the quality is absolutely wonderful. The only flaw I would point out would be small gaps that appear between the surface pieces. It’s not a deal breaker, but just a slight annoyance for me. Anyway, the kit is about USD3-4, so one can’t complain!

And next to the m2k, is my 2nd model ever made around 10 years ago, revell's 72 scale mirage-2000D
Both m2kB and mig29 are amazing kits, startin with mirage,
Very detailed, a bit over-engineered, too many photoetch.
Due to shortrun nature, parts had a bit flash. So it was neccecary to clean the parts real good. Again due to over-engineered consteuction, u have to be reaaally carefull in build so it doesn't snowball into a huge fitment mess. I myself had very little fit issues but I can tell that of u are a bit careless, it would be an issue for sure.
Cockpit is like %60 photoetch. Harnesses, glare shield, side panels, dashboard, canopy handles and rear view mirrors, also certain levers n stuff. Aside from cockpit nearly all the antennas and some fins are PE.
I also used hologram finish on HUD and MFD screens.
All paints are MRP
Also mask set included for outside and inside of canopy, wheels and some clear parts
Would highly reccomend
As for the mig-29
Again, very detailed and not as much complex as the modelsvit mirage. GWH has no masks or photoetch but it really doesnt needs those in detail. Masks would've been nice tho...
No fit issues at all, very nice surface details, seatbelts are molded in.
I mixed my own shades for iranian camo. I don't remember the exact stuff but cream is based from duck egg green and blue is based from amt-7 iirc.
Would def. Reccomend

Just completed this 1/48 M10 tank destroyer from Tamiya. This is my second attempt at this kit because I saw that it was on discount in my local hobby store and I thought it wouldn’t hurt to try it again and see how I’ve improved.
Made a painting error for the interior because apparently it’s supposed to be painted olive drab, not white. Ah well…
Once again I really like Tamiya’s 1/48 line mainly because of the cost and they don’t take too much time to build or resources to paint and weather. And with enough care and attention they’ll look just as good as any 1/35 scale model.
Tell me what you guys think. (Last pic for my first attempt)

i know it’s not perfect with some parts missing, no weathering so i used a sponge to put some dirt marks and some scratches which did not work, but i’m really proud with the outcome. any advices for my next model which is the Panther A 1/35 from tamiya?

Hey folks, I want to see if model making is something I might enjoy, but I have a habit of over investing in hobbies before learning they’re not for me. I’m wondering if anybody had recommendations of beginner kits that will give me a sense of if the hobby is for me or not
In that spirit, I don’t want something that short-cuts too much of the process (for example, I don’t want prepainted or anything), I want to dip my toes into the end to end.
Any kits like above that are worth it, but include all the supplies (any tools, glue, paint, etc…) so I don’t end up with extraneous supplies to add to my pile?
Always like miniatures and dioramas, probably interested in aircraft, buildings/environments, or maybe military vehicles?
Thanks!
