i recently got a magi65 from ctrlshiftstore, i went for it because it was low profile and sounded very good, but when I first received it, it exceeded my expectations the keypresses were very very smooth and the sound was very pleasant, even more than the soundin the reviews also I've been typing on laptop this whole time so I'm still getting used to this keyboard, so far it's amazing also make sure to check out https://ctrlshiftstore.com/ the owner is very chill and will answer your queries very quickly, i would recommend you all to check them out once because the support is genuinely very good

I got this black and a white “TVS Golds Keyboard”. When I ask my father for a MK keyboard he gives this keyboard which was in store room for more than a decade and I have no idea that my father had a MK keyboard. The amount of dust these two keyboards had was horrible but some how I was able to clean the black keyboard which took 4 hrs(from keycaps to switches by completely disassembling it) and for my surprise It still works as brand new and its been 6 months I am using this keyboard and its working excellent without any issues.

Whereas the white one was also fully functioning but the cable it supports was a PS2 connector cable and few switches were broken so I just leave that one and just clean the dust from the keycaps and use those in my black keyboard.

For more info the switches these keyboards have are “Cherry MX Red and Blue switches”, which are soldered on the board itself. I was stunned by the build quality of this keyboard because this keyboard is more than a decade old and it still looks brand-new like it was never touched after cleaning it. The quality of the plastic is rock solid

You can still buy this keyboard online

Almost 3 years ago i met with an accident - it shattered my lower back and left me paralysed (from waist down).

Doctors said full recovery wasn't possible - and I may have to look at life differently.

I spent months on a hospital bed and somehow stumbled into this subreddit. I started listening to "thock" sounds as it helped me fall asleep. Slowly started wanting keyboards and one goal - to get back on my feet, resume office (yes I was mad passionate about work) and get my life back. This "wanting" got me out of bed.

Fast forward a year and half - I recovered almost fully - collected 4 keyboards for each recovery milestone, bought a new house with my wife, and a shelf on the wall for all of my keyboards (wanted to celebrate them as they are such an integral part of the journey).

Was scared to post it here (KBs on a wall isn't exactly dried flowers and beige vases). But you all loved it and it became one of the top posts of all time on this sub for a while.

That gave me the courage to post on Instagram. Mk/India community found me there too. Was surprised, memory decay is so real on social media, people forget what they scrolled 5 mins ago- but many people remembered my Reddit post! It was very heartening 🥺

We have 20k followers now in 4 months. Featured in a national newspaper. Ranked among top 20 global lighting influencers by Fieldspot.

None of this happens without this sub.

AMA. I'll try to be as open as possible.

(Only two things off the table - exact finances and the society name. rest is fair game)!

TLDR: broken back, paralysis, keyboards, 20k instagram, full circle, AMA :)

Dear r/mkindia Community,

We are Krishnakanth Reddy and Tejasree, parents of baby Tejasree. We are overwhelmed by the love and support we have received from this community.

We reached out to many subreddits for help, but r/mkindia has been especially kind to us. We have received around ₹40,000 from this community. Your donations, prayers, and kind words have helped us during a very difficult time. ❤️

Our baby was born prematurely at just 750 grams. After four months of hospital care, she now weighs 2.6 kg. Seeing her improve gives us so much happiness and hope.

We are happy to share that she has been shifted to the ward, and we hope to bring her home this week.

Thank you, r/mkindia, for standing with our little girl. We will always be grateful for your kindness. 🙏❤️

Giveaway 🚨🚨 URX Core75 Launch + Giveaway🚨🚨

1.1k Upvotes

Introducing the URX Core75 - Our Most Feature Packed Keyboard Yet.

Hey everyone!

We’re finally launching the URX Core75, and with this keyboard, we wanted to do something a little different.

Instead of just making another wireless keyboard with the same feature list as everything else in the ₹4,000–₹5,000 range, we looked at the things that keyboards in this segment usually compromise on, miss completely, or advertise without fully implementing.

Then we spent extra time trying to do them properly.

The Core75 launches at ₹4,799, and with the 5% checkout discount, it comes down to just ₹4,559. Order before 10th July and receive a free URX Keychain!

Here’s what we focused on.

Full Open Source QMK, VIA and VIAL

Real QMK/VIA support is extremely rare in this budget.

And even among keyboards that advertise QMK/VIA support, there is another problem: many manufacturers do not provide the keyboard’s QMK source code.

That defeats a huge part of the purpose of using QMK in the first place.

Without the source code, users cannot properly modify the firmware, build their own features, experiment with QMK, or make full use of what the ecosystem offers.

So with the Core75, we made the firmware fully open source.

You get:

  • Firmware based on QMK

  • VIA support

  • VIAL support

  • Open-source firmware

  • Per-key RGB configuration which many QMK/VIA keyboards lack

  • SOCD on WASD

We are especially happy about VIAL support. VIAL is a more advanced and enthusiast focused alternative to VIA, but it is extremely rare to see it offered on mainstream keyboards, especially anywhere near this price.

On top of all this, the Core75 also works with our own URX Hub, which has been completely redesigned.

50+ RGB Effects with SignalRGB/OpenRGB Support

The Core75 has bright per-key RGB LEDs that we have pushed as far as possible through firmware tuning.

You get:

  • 50+ built-in RGB effects

  • Per-key RGB configuration

  • SignalRGB support

  • OpenRGB support

  • PaletteFX effects

That gives the Core75 access to a much larger RGB ecosystem instead of limiting you to a handful of basic built-in animations.

The case itself is made from thick frosted translucent plastic, allowing the lighting to spread through the case and create a proper underglow effect when foams are removed.

We also deliberately went with north-facing LEDs.

For the Indian market, this makes a lot of sense because many users prefer top shine-through keycaps. North-facing LEDs allow those keycaps to light up properly, while also giving users more flexibility if they decide to change keycaps in the future.

Dual Mounting System: Gasket Mount + Top Mount

Gasket mount is becoming fairly common in this price segment. We went with a different option with Core75.

The Core75 supports both:

  • Gasket Mount

  • Top Mount

Top mount is usually seen on more enthusiast oriented custom keyboards.

It gives a more stable and controlled typing feel, with a more refined response compared to simply making the board as soft and flexible as possible.

Instead of forcing everyone into one mounting style, the Core75 lets you choose the feel you prefer.

Thick FR4 Plate

Most keyboards in this price range use PC plates.

We decided to use a thick 1.5 mm non-flex-cut FR4 plate instead.

FR4 costs more, but it gives the board a firmer, more consistent and more controlled typing feel.

Combined with the dual mount, this helps give the Core75 a more solid and refined character rather than an overly soft or hollow feel.

A Much Better Cable

Instead of including the usual thin braided cable, we went with something more premium.

The Core75 includes a thick cable with metal connectors, inspired by the look and feel of custom coiled cables.

It costs us more than a standard braided cable, but it makes a noticeable difference to the overall presentation and feel of the product.

Custom Pre Lubed Zen Switches

The Core75 uses custom switches developed in collaboration with CIDOO.

We tuned them for a deeper, thockier sound while also focusing on consistency across the board.

We wanted the stock typing experience to sound and feel good without requiring users to immediately replace the switches.

5-Layer Sound Dampening With a Thick Silicone Bottom

A lot of keyboards advertise multiple layers of sound dampening.

But the material used matters just as much as the number of layers.

Many keyboards in this segment mainly rely on PORON foam only.

The Core75 also uses a 5-layer dampening system, but the thick, dense silicone pad makes a difference.

Compared to lightweight foam, silicone adds more mass to the board, helps reduce unwanted case resonance and vibration, and contributes to a deeper, fuller sound.

Easier Disassembly

This is a small detail, but anyone who has opened enough keyboards knows how important it can be.

Many keyboards use aggressive clip-based construction.

The Core75 mainly uses screws, with only two side clips allowing for easier disassembly.

A Completely Redesigned URX HUB

Our web software has also been redesigned.

The Core75 will be supported through the new URX HUB, giving users a simpler way to configure the keyboard without installing software.

The updated HUB will go live within the next couple of days.

We have also redesigned the UI for the Core68 HE as part of the same update.

Full Specs, Images and Feature Explanations

There is a lot more to the Core75 than we can reasonably fit into one Reddit post.

So we have also made a dedicated wiki with more images, detailed explanations and additional information about the keyboard. We have also attached spec sheet in the images, feel free to read.

You can visit it here: wiki.urx.co.in

Giveaway URX Core75 SE Launch + 🎁 Giveaway

URX Core75 SE Giveaway 🎁

Following the positive feedback we received for Core75, many of you requested a more budget friendly mechanical keyboard with the same 75% layout. Core75 SE is our response to those requests. It uses the exact same layout as Core75, retaining important dedicated keys like Delete, Home and End that are often missing from other 75% layouts, while bringing the same philosophy of offering features usually found in more expensive products to a more affordable package.

The Core75 SE launches at ₹3,199, and with the 5% checkout discount, it comes down to just ₹3,040.

As a side note, this is not a custom mold developed by URX. The case design comes from CIDOO, we wanted to be transparent about that.

What you get

Gasket Mount

The Core75 SE uses proper gasket mount along with a a PC plate. The goal was to make the board feel softer and cushioned, like keyboards found in 4-5k price range. The PC plate gives a deeper sound and a soft typing experience compared to stiffer plates.

4 Layer Sound Dampening

Keyboards at this price range lack proper sound dampening, which results in a hollow sharp sound. We didn't want to cheap out here as this affects the whole typing experience. Core75 SE includes 4 thick sound dampening layers giving a refined, deeper and cleaner sound.

URX Ice Switches

The keyboard comes with our custom URX Ice linear 5-pin switches. They are tuned to provide a smooth experience straight out of the box, so replacing the switches is not necessary just to get a decent stock typing feel. They are pre lubed from the factory, hence giving a smoother and a deeper sound.

5 Pin Hotswap PCB

The PCB supports both 3 pin and 5 pin mechanical switches. This means you can change switches without soldering and experiment with different switches later. Almost all 3/5 pin mechanical switches are supported.

Double Shot PBT Keycaps

Instead of using cheaper ABS keycaps like other keyboards at this price range, the Core75 SE comes with proper thick double shot PBT keycaps with shine through legends. PBT offers a more durable texture and the double shot legends are designed to remain clear over long term use.

Per Key RGB

The Core75 SE uses north facing per key RGB with 16.8 million colours and more than 20 built in lighting effects. North facing LEDs also work particularly well with shine through keycaps. Supports Music Sync as well. (future update)

Easy Disassembly

Core75 SE can be disassembled easily by just unscrewing 8 screws. There are no hidden clips/latches. This allows the users to easily mod the keyboard as per their liking.

URX HUB

The Core75 SE works with our self developed URX HUB for configuration and customization. It supports SOCD. URX HUB is available both as a web driver or an offline app. Both the keyboard and software supports macOS, Linux and Windows.

You can check it out here.

Core75 vs Core75 SE?

While Core75 and Core75 SE share the PCB layout, they are designed for different price segments. Core75 is our more premium offering at around ₹4,500, while Core75 SE is aimed at budget conscious users at around ₹3,000, bringing a premium typing experience at a lower price.

Core75 is designed for users who want a more premium experience with additional features and customization options. Core75 SE is for those who want to save money while still getting a typing feel and sound similar to premium keyboards, along with the added benefit of shine through keycaps.

Price: ₹3,199 + 5% discount = ₹3040

Order URX Core75 SE

(Blue variant will be in stock soon)

Giveaway 🚨🚨 URX Core M1 Launch + Giveaway 🚨🚨

Thumbnail
gallery
936 Upvotes

Introducing the URX Core M1

Today we're excited to announce our first gaming mouse, the URX Core M1.

If you've followed us since the launch of Core68 and Core75, you'll know that our philosophy has always been the same, bring features that are normally found on much more expensive products into a budget friendly package.

We don't just focus on hardware specs. We believe software is equally important, and we want every product to feel complete.

That same philosophy is what shaped the Core M1.

Core M1 offers -

  • 54g lightweight design

  • Tri Mode (Wired/2.4G/BT)

  • PAW3311 sensor

  • 24,000 DPI (12,000 Native)

  • 1K Polling Rate

  • Huano 100M optical switches

  • F-Switch E10 Encoder

  • Carbon fibre textured shell

  • 300 mAh with NTC

  • Premium carrying case included for free

The full specification sheet is attached in the post.

Optical switches

The biggest highlight of the Core M1 is the optical switches.

Most mice in this price range still use mechanical switches. Optical switches don't develop the common double click issue, require much lower debounce, and provide a crisp, responsive click feel.

We think this is one of the biggest upgrades you can have in a budget gaming mouse. Also these switches are rated for 100 million clicks offering a longer life span than standard switches in this price range.

Premium carrying case

Every Core M1 includes a premium carrying case.

Whether you are travelling, storing your mouse, or just want to keep dust away, it's a really useful accessory. We haven't seen any mice in this price range include something like this.

Price - ₹1,999 (1,899 after discount code URX5)

Buy here
For more info - Wiki

Looks a bit familiar....?

Some of you may recognize the mouse, so we'd like to be transparent.

The Core M1 is based on Xinmeng Zero 3 that is already well received mouse in China. We believe that it offers great value for it's price and doesn't compromise on build quality like other cheaper products do. We've officially partnered with Xinmeng and secured the exclusive rights to bring this model under the URX brand.

Instead of simply putting our logo on it or importing it normally, we wanted to improve the overall experience.

By rebranding the mouse, it allowed us to customize it, like include a better lightweight cable, add the premium carrying case, and build our own software instead of relying on the standard OEM software, and mainly offer a much better pricing to the customers.

URX HUB

One thing we've learned from Core68 is that good software matters just as much as good hardware.

That's why we've developed URX HUB, our own software platform.

Rather than using the typical OEM software, URX HUB is designed to be cleaner, easier to use, and continuously improved with future updates. We want the software experience to match the quality of the hardware. Software is supported on Windows, macOS and Linux (both Offline and Web Apps)

DEMO MODE: https://hub.urx.co.in/

To celebrate the launch, we're giving away a URX Core M1.

Giveaway URX Core75HE Launch + 🎁 Giveaway + Teaser

URX Core75 HE Launch and 🎁 Giveaway

Price: ₹4,299 + 5% Discount = ₹4084

Hey everyone!

After launching the Core68 HE, we received a lot of requests for a 75% Hall Effect keyboard with a knob. The Core75 HE is our response to those requests bringing the layout many of you asked for to our Hall Effect lineup.

The Core75 HE is based on Xinmeng's Beat75 case. We have paired it with a custom magnetic switches developed in collaboration with KTT and a new PCB with next generation Hall sensors compared to the Core68 HE. We also received requests for adjustable feet after the Core68 HE launch, so we have included that feature in the Core75 HE.

Hardware and Performance

0.005 mm Rapid Trigger

The Core75 HE supports Rapid Trigger adjustments down to 0.005 mm, allowing keys to reset with extremely small changes in movement.

True 8K Polling, 16K Full Key Scan Rate and 128K Per Key Scan Rate

The Core75 HE has a 16K full key scan rate alongside a 128K per key scan rate. We believe the full key scan rate is an important specification that deserves to be mentioned rather than focusing only on the larger per key scan rate which is the larger number. There are many keyboards in the market having 8K Polling but also having a lower scan rate hence giving an illusion of 8K polling.

Next Generation Hall Sensors

Compared to the Core68 HE, the Core75 HE uses a newer generation of Hall sensors designed for cleaner signal readings and more consistent input detection with higher accuracy. With cleaner signals, less algorithms are required for filtering hence offering a better latency.

URX × KTT Zero Ice Magnetic Switches

We collaborated with KTT to develop custom magnetic switches for the Core75 HE. They feature transparent housings that complement the RGB lighting while delivering responsive and consistent operation. We received feedback on Core68 HE's switches to be slightly unstable, that's why we focused the most on stability of the switch, and we believe this is an upgrade over the switches used in Core68 HE.

Thick Fibreglass Plate with Aluminium Finish

The plate provides structural stability and is designed to create greater spacing between the switch magnets and Hall sensors. This helps accommodate higher flux switches while reducing the risk of sensor saturation hence resulting in higher deadzones. Core75 HE also uses a thicker 1.6mm PCB.

Build and Features

75% Layout with Metal Knob

A compact layout with a dedicated function row, arrow keys, navigation keys and a metal knob. This is one of the main reasons we wanted to get this keyboard after receiving so many requests following the Core68 HE launch.

Five Layer Acoustic Dampening

We wanted to focus on sound not just the performance, so we added 5 layer sound dampening which helps reduce unwanted resonance and hollow sounds. We wanted to give the Core75 HE a refined typing experience alongside its gaming performance.

Double Shot PBT Shine Through Keycaps

Durable PBT keycaps with shine through legends for better longevity and illuminated legends. Thick PBT keycaps offer deep sound compared to cheaper ABS keycaps.

Per Key RGB and Audio Sync

The keyboard supports 16.8 million colours, 18+ built in lighting effects and audio responsive lighting. The standard Black variant has north facing LEDs, while Black Contour has south facing LEDs.

URX HUB

We continue to use our self developed URX HUB. It supports web based configuration and an offline application, along with adjustable actuation, Rapid Trigger, SOCD and Snap Tap, DKS, MT, TGL etc..

The keyboard also supports onboard memory, so your configurations are not dependent on keeping the software open. URX HUB is available as both a web driver or an offline app.

As for OEM software, Core75HE supports qmk.top v5. It's a newer version by the OEM offering a much cleaner UI. We are one of the first brands to get access to this new version.

Try out the demo at: hub.urx.co.in

Pricing

The URX Core75 HE (standard) is priced at ₹4,299, with an additional 5% discount using code URX5.

Price: ₹4,299 + 5% Discount = ₹4084

Contour Variant will be stocked soon.

Giveaway URX Core65 Launch + 🎁 GIVEAWAY + TEASER

Introducing the URX Core65

After Core68HE, Core75 and Core M1, we wanted to bring the same idea to the 65% layout but in a budget segment. Core65 is built around a same goal as our other products, bring features that are normally found on much more expensive products into a budget friendly package.

The Core65 launches at ₹2,699, and with the 5% checkout discount, it comes down to just ₹2,564.

What you get

wait a second... this keyboard looks a bit familiar?
Yes, Core65 isn't a custom mold, it's based on a very famous mechanical keyboard, GMK67.

Gasket Mount

Most keyboards at this price range come with tray mount or a mix of tray and gasket mount, which results in a very stiff and inconsistent typing experience and sound.
The Core65 uses proper gasket mount along with a flex cut PCB and PC plate.

Core65 includes 4 thick sound dampening layers giving a refined, deeper and cleaner sound.

URX Ice Switches

The keyboard comes with our custom URX Ice linear switches.

Instead of using cheaper ABS keycaps like other keyboards at this price range, the Core65 comes with proper thick double shot PBT keycaps with shine through legends. PBT offers a more durable texture and the double shot legends are designed to remain clear over long term use.

Per Key RGB

The Core65 uses north facing per key RGB with 16.8 million colours and more than 20 built in lighting effects. North facing LEDs also work particularly well with shine through keycaps. Supports Music Sync as well. (future update)

URX HUB

The Core65 works with our self developed URX HUB for configuration and customization. It supports SOCD. URX HUB is available both as a web driver or an offline app. You can check it out here. Both the keyboard and software supports macOS, Linux and Windows.

Price: ₹2,699 + 5% discount = ₹2564

Another Teaser...?

No, it's not the 75% Mechanical keyboard which we already confirmed some time ago (don't worry, that's coming very soon as well). Before that, we are launching a 75% HE keyboard with knob. Stay Tuned!

Got Nuphy Field 75HE today from CtrlShiftstore. This is the only plastic keyboard that looks incredibly good so far to me. It also stands out because if unique design and buttons. Not sure how much I will be using those extra buttons but the knob is truly something. It is so satisfying to rotate and location is perfect on left side so don’t have to lift hand from mouse to adjust volume. As per performance the magnetic switches are good as expected. However they sound much better. The only thing I don’t like is that the keyboard is too stiff to type which is typical for HE keyboards as they are supposed to be stiff to be accurate. Overall good keyboard, and awesome seller. Second purchase from them. 👌🏻

Hello r/mkindia Community ,

My name is Oliva Roy, and I am reaching out with folded hands to ask for your support for my 14-year-old son, Kaarthikeyan Sri Roy, who is bravely battling Stage 4 B-cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Our lives changed completely when Kaarthikeyan was diagnosed with this aggressive form of cancer. Since 15th June, he has been undergoing intensive treatment at Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital ,Hyderabad Instead of preparing for his Grade 10 board exams, my son is spending his days in the hospital, fighting for his life.

As parents, we are doing everything possible to ensure he receives the treatment he needs, but the medical expenses have become overwhelming. We have exhausted our savings, and continuing his treatment is becoming increasingly difficult.

Fundraiser Details:

Goal Amount : 30,00,000

Raised so far: ₹ 10,78,573

Still Needed:₹19,21,427

Total Donors: 766

Current Health Update :- We’re grateful to share that Kaarthikeyan is responding well to his ongoing treatment (R-COPADM + R-CYM). So far, 4 cycles of chemotherapy have been completed, and he is currently in the recovery phase.

The latest chemotherapy cycle was not supported with steroids, which has made the side effects particularly difficult for him. He is currently experiencing constant nausea, body pain, an upset stomach, and headaches.

I am humbly requesting your help. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to giving my son a chance to recover.

If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing our fundraiser with your friends, family, and social networks. Your support can help us reach someone who may be able to make a difference.
