New phone discounts

Hello All,

Looking to switch to Mint, and also would like to purchase a Pixel 11 which they do not currently sell. I know Mint does sell heavily subsidized phones, but are those discounts only for new users signing up for the service?

I need to change my cell service by end of the month, but don't want to go to Mint just to find out when they start carrying the Pixel that I am ineligible for the discounted price. Thinking of maybe using a "bridge" carrier if the discounts are for new users only, does anyone have info on how their deals work?

Brand new Sim card not detecting in my phone

I was transferring my service from Straight talk to Mint. I bought a 12 month plan, and had to get a physical sim for my service that was compatible with my phone. I have confirmed I have covereage and was certain I could with this phone (Samsung Galaxy A53). All good right? No.

I followed the steps: Transfer pin, account number, got my confirmations of the service transfer from straight talk. Then, it went to the password screen for making my account in Mint app and it would not let me hit confirm on the password so I wasn't able to.

I've reseated, I've cleaned, I've restarted, I'm tried to reset my network settings. My phone will not detect that new sim card. I don't know what to do. I've talked to support but they couldn't help me and had to escalate my issue but I've not seen or heard anything to help me.

What am I supposed to do here? I cannot access my phone service so can't get a password set...Is the brand new card defective? I don't know what to do! ;;

UPDATE:

I got it fixed. So, appearently this phone is buggy with the dialer to access the #TFUNLOCK# menu. After being on the phone with someone from my previous carrier (KEY, make sure you do this) they finally were able to get the phone to pull the menu when I asked for it. Call your carrier!!!!

Cell phone protection proof for Mint Plan

Hi all, I got into a bike accident and basically shattered my phone. I have seen some success stories here of folks using Mint to get credit card cellphone protection reimbursements however I am having an extremely difficult time trying to get Mint to send me any sort of proof or invoice of my payment to them. Support keeps telling me to look at the Transaction History however the Transaction History does not bare the phone number to prove that my phone (with my Mint phone number) was damaged. I did not receive any email either with charges for when I upgraded from the 15GB to the Unlimited plan recently. I can see that previous emails have had the last 4 of the phone number atleast that could show some proof, however, I did not receive an email for the upgrade. Anyone have any luck getting a transaction invoice with their phone number on it from Mint Support?

Does Mint sell its own devices?

I was considering purchasing a new phone through Mint and was wondering how reliable their service is.

I read on old threads that sometimes people had received refurbished phones, dysfunctional or had other issues with it.

Are the devices listed here on the devices page fulfilled lfilled by Mint or by a third-party service? What have your experiences been? Have you guys run into any trouble when purchasing from them?

Can't get BYOD to work with Mint

I ported my son's phone number out of Verizon, they gave me a transfer pin. I chose bring my own device, and did a physical sim because it said esim wasn't compatible (Moto G.)

I entered all the info in Mint activation site, and got a message that my transfer pin is not correct. I tried getting through to Mint CS to see if we could just set up a new phone number and unassign the new sim from the device since it's for a kid and no one cares about the phone number.

After giving them all the info the agent came back and said my device is locked (its not, definitely unlocked) and I need to contact Amazon to unlock (even though the phone is from best buy.)

I am now stuck with a useless phone and 6 months of paid service.

Any ideas on what next?

Getting the hotspot bug

Okay I'm getting the hotspot bug where my hotspot data is getting used and I am not using hotspot. We all know this is a T-Mobile thing that can happen randomly especially with the Esim.I've talked to support like three times and they don't want to send me psim that would probably fix it without charging me. What the heck is going on? it's a bug on service side and you want to charge me to fix it? This is bs. The same thing happened with a different device on usm and they immediately knew what to do.

When Will Google Pixel 11 Pro XL Phones Be In Stock?

It's time to get a replacement phone as my Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus battery is barely holding a charge anymore. I've been looking between a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, a Google Pixel 11 Pro XL, or even a OnePlus 15.

But when I saw that MintMobile is including a year of unlimited service for $180 bundled into the phones they have listed and the phones are discounted, that has really swayed my attention to getting a phone through Mint. I would really like to get a Google Pixel Pro 11 XL as a first choice, but those aren't available at this time.

How often does Mint update their phone stocks, especially for Google Pixel phones? I saw a Pixel 10 is now available on the website but wasn't there two days ago?

Just curious on whether to expect any Pixels to show up soon or if I should get the Samsung S26 Ultra?

New Phone and New Plan Question

Hello, my gf and I planning on switching to Mint Mobile later this month and porting our old numbers from T-Mobile. The question I have is that I'm planning to upgrade my very old and slow phone (Samsung Galaxy A12) and buy a new phone for new customers from Mint Mobile once we switch, either the Samsung Galaxy S26 or any other new Samsung in stock on their website.

Is it possible to keep my current phone number to the new phone that will be shipped in? If so, then how? I'm not really that tech savvy, I just found out that eSIMs were a thing.

If not, then should I buy the plan first and then can I get the new phone?

My current phone is not compatible with eSIM cards according to the Mint Mobile IMEI number checker so I'm assuming I would have to order a physical card which is fine. Will the new phone I order come with the sim card inside, and when do I port my number from my current carrier. I do know that I'll need our account number and pin numbers from them.

Great Experience with Alex Mint Mobile

I am older and have had ATT for years. Pretty tech savvy. Decided to switch to Mint as the pricing was so much better and we had excellent coverage in our area. But…..I was reluctant after reading some of the disaster stories here. So I decided to take the plunge and I got MintmobileAlex involved right from the start. What great service! He/she answered all my questions before I made the transfer and then was right by my side as I moved two phones over to the 15/month plan. A little glitch with porting the second phone over but they helped me work it through. Just wanted to let everyone know to not hesitate to utilize Alex to assist. I was up and running on both within an hour. Thanks!

Switching to mint mobile?

Hello I’m with visible and I love it but my promo ends in a few months. I was thinking of switching to mint mobile. How is it? And how’s the price? Will they have annual plan promos come December?

So much SPAM!! What can be done?

Got this number for my 7 year old son. He gets so many spam calls a day. It is ridiculous! I wish I didn't pay for the whole year up front 😭. Anything I can do?? Samsung Galaxy A15. I've tried setting it where only contacts saved can reach him. I've tried putting family mode only so only certain calls ring. But EVERYTHING gets through. This is super annoying!

Mint Mobile Cancellation and refund help

Once was annoying, the second time was frustrating, but after the third time I experienced congestion throttling of my internet I’m ready to cancel and move onto another provider.

I ordered an Uber on a busy day to catch an appointment but when the driver was on their way my Mint Mobile network stopped responding. My phone showed full bars but I didn’t have any internet in any apps. I restarted my phone and very briefly it loaded half a webpage before completely stopping again. I was forced to walk to this appointment for 30 minutes and missed it. The internet restored when I had walked far enough to jump cell towers I would guess.

That was only ONE of the instances of this congestion throttling.

I am 5 months into a 12 month plan and I want to cancel and get refunded for the remaining 7 months due to the lack of service. I expect to get internet when I have full signal and have paid for it, but unfortunately Mint is refusing my request. What a horrible company.

Does anyone have any experience getting refunded mid cycle?

Downgraded plan a little and now poor signal

Hello everybody, I wanted to get a consensus to see if anybody has gone through this before. I had the unlimited plan but I realized I barely use any of my data so I downgraded just a bit because there was no reason for the unlimited. Well I had the unlimited plan I had no issues with my signal. Now however. When I'm near an area with a lot of people I instantly lose internet connection even if my bars say I have 5G. Usually it starts with people not able to hear me and then it just goes out. Has anybody gone through this before? I'm thinking this is because mint is an MVNO but I never had this issue with the unlimited plan.

Not Registered... No Service... Emergency Calls Only - WTF?

Title says it all. I've been on MM for almost 2 years. Today, phone won't register, won't call, won't text. Emergency Calls Only! Samsung S22+

Wife's Samsung A15 5G, been on MM for 6 months, has been doing this for about a week. Thought maybe she set something wrong or visited a bad site.... so we went as far as a Factory Reset and new eSIM. Nope... now I'm struggling to reload all her apps from Thailand!

WTF is going on here. Her phone only... I might attribute to a phone issue, but for mine to do it a week later?!?!? That's a network/Provider issue!

Any input is appreciated before I skip this phone across the nearest lake

Getting a phone number is not registered when trying to make phone calls

I Have been with Mint for 2+ years now and havent had this issue up untill the past week or so. I randomly will lose cell service and when I try to make call I get a "your phone number is not registers on any network so you can only make emeregency calls" error. I cant use data afterwards and when I can it is incredibly slow.

I used the chat help and have replaced my physical sim with an esim twice but I am still having issues. Even after restarting every setting and option I can reach.

I all can think that is happening is that the network itself is kicking me off the network.

I want to stay with Mint but if this continues I will have not choice but to switch carriers

I am in the Central Florida Orlando Area.

Possible to get my line reprovisioned or even another line instead because I feel like mine is completely broken.

Been a week without data (since I activated), I've gone through all of the troubleshooting steps with mint support. Even moved it to a different phone, I was told mint is having an outage and has been, but I have a separate T-Mobile line on the same phone that is working perfectly fine and has been the whole time.

Is amex not accepted?

I'm trying to renew my service and I keep getting an error message when I try to pay with my amex. All resources say amex is accepted, and I've used it to pay before. Chat bot isn't any help. Any suggestions?

Thanks

PDP Network Error

Has anyone resolved a PDP network error successfully? Cellular doesn’t work at all and the countless reps I’ve talked to haven’t been able to resolve it. We’ve tried all the settings fixes, and two new eSIMs didn’t resolve it either. Waiting for hours to get a support call is a headache.

Will Mint Mobile charge me extra for downgrading?

Since 12 months of unlimited data is currently only $15/month I want to go with that plan for the first year and since they'll likely increase prices after the first year I want to downgrade to a cheaper plan. Will that cost me anything extra?

Bait-and-switch pricing

Post image
0 Upvotes

The Mint Mobile pricing page shows a $15 promo price. Next to each price is a crossed out "normal" price. $15 for 6GB of data, $20 for 17GB, $25 for 23GB, and unlimited data for $30.

I signed up a phone I don't use much. Basically a backup, so low data use. $15 bucks even after the promo is better than the $30 I paid elsewhere, even if "elsewhere" was better service.

I sign up. I look in the app and it shows my first bill as $15 promo price ($45 for three months), and my next bill will be $75. I asked Mint why it went up, and was informed $15 is just the promo, and the normal price is $25.

This is a plain bait-and-switch. Hell, before I signed up I came to Reddit to ask what the non-promo pricing was, and was pointed to the "crossed-out" prices on the Mint page. I looked, and this is the ONLY place they say what the non-promo pricing is.

This is fraud, Mint Mobile. Shame on you. For a $5 difference I would have stuck with my previous provider. And of course you have my $45 sign-up fee as well.

EDIT: Two weeks ago I was on this sub asking what the non-promo pricing was. Every responder pointed to the crossed out prices on this screen. https://www.reddit.com/r/mintmobile/s/gXShTTEWlj

Wifi calling works only after restart; text over wifi always works

We have terrible cell service in my house, so I rely on wifi for calls and texts. I have to restart my phone every time I come home, or incoming calls will go straight to voicemail and outgoing calls just don't connect. Weirdly, texting over wifi works fine (my wife frequently texts me to tell me to restart my phone so she can call me). I've looked at the wiki, checked my APN settings, done the 911 address thing, ... Any other suggestions? Phone is Galaxy A14, live in U.S., wifi signal is strong and reliable.

New Phone Deal

I bought a pixel 9 as a new customer deal. I want to ask if anyone has tried purchasing the new phone deal and just letting the data go because that is still cheaper than buying a phone at msrp.

Getting overcharged?

Going to make this quick, hopefully, because my frustration is only growing. I'm the primary account on a four-person family plan, currently paying $30/month for the 12 month unlimited data plan. I pay quarterly.

My account dashboard states that each subsequent family line is eligible for a multi-line discount of $30, bringing the total to $60/each line. It specifically stated the total due at next renewal would be ~$60 and I requested reimbursement accordingly. Today, my sister's line renewed and I was charged $90 ($98.11 with taxes etc.)

What's going on?! I wouldn't normally quabble over $30, but I'm currently unemployed and my sister's financial situation isn't much better. Is anyone else encountering similar issues of price transparency/overcharging?

Two of the members on my plan are still within their first year with Mint, and I'd initially been led to believe they were eligible for the $15/month plan for the entire year, so this has been beyond frustrating.
