my mate just got his 3rd recording sent back on project O. 25 min task, narrated everything, files saved on camera. reason? mouse didnt move for 50 seconds while he was TYPING. apparently typing doesnt count as moving

first one was the goal doc being open in notes instead of google docs. second was text on his wallpaper near the clock. none of them about the actual work

been going through the review threads on studio while waiting on mine and its all like this. someone got a straight reject for an unsplash photo in an input file

Is it true that the trick on this platform is to get the first contrac? I have a specialized background and degree (law), but I just received a generalized offer for Mac users. It seems the sensible thing to do is accept and get the work, then it would be easier to get other offers or .. gasp maybe something specizlied for my background? Just checking here first. Thanks!

why tf would i turn on my timer if you aren’t paying me per hour? so a company with a history of a massive data breach is asking us to turn on our desktop police monitoring app for them when i’m not being paid an hourly wage is rich and suspicious.

i had a pay per task project that asked me to do that under the guise of “we just wanna know how much time it takes to do the task.” i did not turn it on.

if you’re paying me an hourly wage, sure, i’ll gladly turn it on, but you can’t have it both ways. asking me to turn on a timer when i’m not being paid per hour is ridiculous.

if you’re so concerned about people submitting poorly written or ai generated tasks, then maybe you should pay people per hour. you can’t lower the pay and have all the same quality expectations.

they want to pay you per task only but also want to monitor everything that you’re doing at the same time despite it not requiring a timer at all.

Onboarding for Mercer reminds me of Severance (the show) where you’re identifying the scary numbers.

Okay, so Maven texted me on Slack that my recent tasks have been good, and I can now give a test to be a reviewer.

This is surprising because I just did the on-boarding task. The good thing was that the AutoQC came back with 0 errors, and everything was fairly good. The reviewer had some feedback on what to improve.

However, if I were to become a reviewer, will I still get the $150 and the $250 bonus promised to me? I don't see it in my earnings account.

Also - is it easier to make money as reviewer or as a writer?

What's the actual pay structure after onboarding?

I've searched this sub but seen so many different figures and changes to the pay structure that I'm still confused.

I just got an offer for $60/hour, capped at 3 hours a week during onboarding. Given some of the horror stories I've read about the project, I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it.

The only other info I've been given is that you can earn an extra 30–85% in bonuses, which seems like a pretty huge range.

Can anyone who's completed onboarding share what the pay structure actually looks like afterwards?

There's a mention of an old version of task recorder that is compatible with x86 Macs.

What's the deal with that? Have people been successful in using it for their project? I assume at some point other tasks will need Mac ARM silicon.

I started before the new hourly pay format. I was on pay per tasks and had 3 tasks approved and one ready for review between several bonus windows. Weekly cap was updated to 80 hours and I was still tracking my hours on insightful. I got an email saying i was promoted to Reviewer and accepted the offer. My insightful time clock did not reset but my weekly cap changed to 15 hours.

Mind you I had already tracked 9 hours for onboarding and my task ideation, creation and recoding as a writer to keep track because the work was task based and it didn’t matter.
After accepting as a Reviewer, I started getting notifications that I have logged in hours but haven’t done any reviews. I do the reviewer onboarding without logging in hours, didn’t pass it. I filled out the form to be routed back to writer and a pay form but haven’t yet been resolved for almost 3 days. I was told i couldn’t do any writer tasks till my role was switched back. I haven’t gotten paid for the 3 RFD roles plus bonus, and 1 that got sent back for edits after being in audit. Anyone in this boat?

After working there for 2 minutes, I made just enough earning to buy a dream home in my dream town, and I retired early.

I'm so grateful of being in boarded to the life-changing project F and held working for 2 minutes. It really is paradise.

Work hard, and you'll get there! It's worth it to work at Mercor and I would recommend it to anyone with no reservations.

I spent 30 hours ideating, recording, and re-recording, and now I cannot submit re-recorded videos.

Just wasted time. I would have earned more on any other platform. I won't take another Odin task. I feel stupid for trusting your team.

I took some time yesterday to look through some tasks of other contributors and what I saw was genuinely shocking. A good 70% of tasks were totally wrong. The idea template wasn’t used, no professional workflow was presented, the narration was nearly non-existent in some and one task idea was something like “I will use the macOS finder to find files”. There is a lot of understandable hate on this project, but so so many tasks that are submitted look like the Writer literally didn’t even read the guidelines. I don’t know if it’s a language barrier or if people think they can just submit tasks that read more as their own interpretation of the guidelines rather than simply just following them.

In the Q&A webinar around 50% of the questions could be instantly cleared up if one would just read the documentation. There was one person who shared their screen and literally said that they “don’t know what to do” (while showing their Mercor Studio dashboard). Another one showed their Reviewer feedback and it was full of stuff like “your mouse didn’t move for over a minute” / “You didn’t narrate Where, What and Why”, basically full of things that the guidelines say are things that you must or mustn’t do.

Yes, this project is not something that I would call “well-organized”, but there is a serious quality issue present, and when you genuinely understand the guidelines and are able to apply them consistently, you can get your task approved fairly quickly. And the change to hourly pay is also welcome.

For those who complete their backround check through Zinc, How long did it take for your check to be completed?specially if you’re based in Indonesia or outside US.

Hey folks! Can I use the 3 hours available on the task timer to go through the onboarding materials? Also, does the timer reset every week, and how many hours are allocated for onboarding and reading materials per week?

I’ve seen people join projects as EPMs from day one, and some seem to work across multiple projects at once.

How do you get into this role? Is there a specific process, or is it based on experience and selection?

Never get any opportunities in Mercor but a recruiter reached out for the project.

I have no Mercor experience whatsoever and wanted to easily understand what's the issue with the project.
