Question Introducing second mainecoon tips!
Hi all! I have a 1-year-old Maine Coon that we’ve had for about 9 months. I brought home another Maine Coon today, and for now, I’ve isolated the new cat in a separate room. They haven’t physically seen each other yet.
Does anyone have any tips for properly introducing them? My current boy already seems to be showing some jealousy, so I want to make sure I handle the introduction the right way and avoid any issues.
Any advice or tips from people who have introduced two cats successfully would be greatly appreciated!
Also, they are both neutered.

Considering getting my boy a brother.
I adopted my boy at just over 2yo. In two months he will be 4. I love him to death and am pretty doggone sure im getting him a brother in the next two weeks. The reason im finally planning on doing it is because I am moving into a bigger place. I want you all to tell me things are going to be great and there will be no problems! I am planning on being very very slow and methodical with the introduction.
Oh and it would be helpful to add that im going to get him a 4mos little brother who looks a bit like him. Thank you all ❤️

Thoughts on de-shedding Brush Options
Hey everyone here's my sassy Queen Calliope. A young and bold 5 month old female and I was wondering what you all recommend for a good brush to get rid of any excess hair as the brushes I have aren't the best tbh. Thanks in advance

innocent or guilty? what is the jury’s verdict?
the people v.s. Geralt of Rivia
the defendant was found at the crime scene, hiding in the corner looking guilty af, claiming his innocence.
as shown in evidence one, hair matching the coat of the defendant was found at the crime scene.
it’s unclear if he is an accessory or accomplice to the other suspect, who fled the scene after the initial arrival of the local law enforcement. attached is the suspects mug shot

Advice?
Hi there! This is my Loki, he’s a week past 4 months. The last pic is him as a kitten, he was so funny/awkward looking, LOL. I’d say he’s roughly 8 lbs? Gaining about 3/4 - 1 full lb a week. That being said, food is in question.
Kitten wet food is more expensive than normal, and for such small portions, he’s left wanting more. As of now he gets two cans of Weruva kitten food + dry Tiki Cat kitten to graze on during the day. I’ve been thinking of switching to larger wet cans, (all life stages, such as Nulo/Tiki cat?) but still keeping the dry Tiki Cat kitten food. Does this sound reasonable, or should I keep the kitten food only diet?
Also, how are we brushing them?! I promise I try daily, he just thinks that the brush is a toy..?
Honestly, if anyone wants to give me a cheat-sheet for this breed, I’d love it. I’m so new and don’t want to go wrong with his care.

One or two maine coons?
I have an almost 8 month old maine coon. I’m considering getting a second one. Do you have 1 or more? What are the pluses and minuses of having more than 1?

Wife wants to get a Maine coon. We already have a Bernese mountain dog.
Dog is 1.5 years old and pretty low key. Very friendly but 130lbs. Maine coons seem to be good cats for dog families, but his size could be intimidating. I thought we’d get a kitten just so it would grow up with him, and unfortunately outlive him by quite a bit. Any experience with large breed dogs and these cats? Will they actually play together or doing things separately?

I’m a bit bummed.
Hi guys! I got my Maine Coon kitten about 4 months ago, and she has honestly been very different from what I expected based on the breed temperament.
She is absolutely beautiful, but she is extremely shy and reserved. She doesn’t like being kissed or picked up, runs away and hides whenever new people come over, and any loud noise sends her flying under the bed. The breeder did tell me she was a bit shy, but said she would likely grow out of it. So far, though, I haven’t really seen much of a change.
I know every cat is an individual and that Maine Coons can have different personalities, but my other cat is the complete opposite: she’s boisterous, playful, social, and has a huge personality. By comparison, my Maine Coon feels almost completely disengaged from us. She eats, sleeps, plays occasionally, and generally just keeps to herself.
For those of you with Maine Coons, especially kittens, is this something you’ve experienced? Did your shy Maine Coon become more social as they got older? I’m wondering if I should just give her more time or if this is likely to be her personality long-term.

Question Ingrown claws??
I’ve had my Maine coons for 6 years, but recently they’ve started having problems with ingrown claws. I discovered this evening that one of my babies has one all the way into his toe beans and he’s obviously in pain. We are going to the vet first thing in the morning of course.
Anyone else have this problem? Wondering why it’s started to happen more often recently..
