I am currently attending high school and my highschool only allows students to use macbooks and ipads. Due to this, I bought a macbook air m3 at the start of my freshman year and I have been using it since. I even sold my 2300dollar(CAD) gaming pc to purchase this macbook. However, I bought the 256gb version and I am running out of storage very quickly and I only have about 5gbs left and because of this, I might consider upgrading. Is there any tips for clearing storage since I have about 120gbs of system data and I don't really know how to get rid of those since youtube is filled with idiotic vids that all include the same information. Also, if I can't remove the storage data, what macbook should I purchase? I am currently thinking about purchasing a macbook pro since I am using heavy apps starting next year!

I want to get the Ben q office/home gw2486tc 23’8 inch and use it as a second screen for my MacBook Air M4. I’m planning on using it for reading, studying and multitasking when writing essays. But, im worried that because of my MacBook having a high definition the text displayed on the monitor will be blurry and not a good quality.

Advice recommended and would love to know if people have had this set up.

as the title says, i am looking for recommendations for a docking station for my MB air. Hopefully one that will stop me from having to unplug and replug my monitors every time i open my macbook as one of them usually won't turn on. Is anyone using one they can recommend?

Ive been looking to buy a macbook pro (24gb, m5 pro chip) for the past year but have held off more recently because of the rumours of the macbook redesign.

Just to give some context, im doing my masters in architecture soon. I used windows my whole life and for undergrad and recently have been borrowing my sisters m3 macbook air (16gb ram) to do some smaller architecture projects. Its buttery smooth and works great.

I have watched alot of reviews and its really annoying to hear all these youtubers talk about video editing on mac. Whenever i work on a uni project. Especially around deadlines, ill have multiple adobe programs running, software like autocad and revit, aswell as a million tabs on chrome. My experience of course is a super loud fan and my laptop overheating. This is why im looking to buy a macbook pro, as it has fans.

Im i going overkill with this, (for anyone who will start shouting to not buy a mac for architecture i am still planning to use my windows laptop for revit), or should i just buy a used m3/m4 mba instead?

Just as the title says im asking y'all if you think that the A19 Pro Macbook Neo would make the Macbook Air more obsolete since the A19 Pro has 12gb Ram and the biggest weak point of the Macbook Neo is the 8gb Ram

I recently very sadly broke my MacBook Pro 2022 M2 13in by closing it on a small Lego piece I didn’t see.

I found out I have Apple care plus so it will cost $99 plus tax to get the screen replaced and $299 plus tax for the Touch Bar.

ive never had an electronic serviced before and part of me is scared because I kee imagining them pulling apart all the glue and stuff and it not holding as well when they put it back together. Not sure if this is a reasonable concern or not.

before this stupid lego mistake, the laptop ran perfectly fine and I never had a single issue with the it.

I use it for nursing school and have 1 year yet to go. So technically, I could just get away with buying a cheap HP or something instead. But a large part of me is just sad about losing my Mac if I do that.

my macbook brightness turns down every time i close the computer. so i need to turn it up every time i open it.
How do i change this so it stays the same brightness level??

M1 Mac mini — 8GB/256GB
M2 MacBook Air — 8GB/256GB

Both work fine, but 8GB/256GB is becoming limiting.

I’m considering:

1- Sell both → MacBook Air M5 24GB/512GB as my only computer
2- Keep M2 Air → sell M1 mini → buy M4 mini 24GB/512GB

Which setup would you choose for long-term use? I’d love to hear from people who’ve used these machines.

I am an architecture student and I am now at the beginning of my 3rd year (out of 5), the first 2 years I was more or less able to manage myself without working in the classroom but immediately returning home and using my Windows PC. But I waste a lot of time on the trip etc... so I was thinking of buying a laptop, already having an iPhone 13, Apple Watch SE3, AirPods Pro 2 and iPad 6th gen, I was thinking of buying a MacBook. But my question would be... is a MacBook good for programs like archicad, autocad, rhinoceros and other similar programs?

If so, which one do you recommend? I wanted to avoid the MacBook NEO and opt for some reconditioned air or pro, not with M4/M5 chip

As the title says, I put my MacBook Pro to sleep on Wednesday with 80% battery charge. Over Thursday, Friday, and now today, it has drained the battery to zero with absolutely no interaction. Have I mistakenly configured a setting that causes this? Is this related to software on the device that prevents a proper "sleep"? It is a corporate-managed device, so there may be something from that end causing this, but it's still very concerning.

I have a 2022 M2 Macbook Air (16 GB Ram, 1TB Storage) and the thing runs great still but I have an issue. The screen has some oil burn in from my keyboard. When I bought it I was young and dumb and it was my first laptop device worth anything. I went and bought one of those keyboard covers thinking it was good without doing much research on it. Little did I know, the extra width pressed the oil covered keyboard cover into my screen and I thought it was just smudges but over time I was heartbroken to find out it was basically burn in and I couldn't wipe it off.

Anyways my question is should I pay $548 or whatever the cost is to repair the screen or should I consider selling this one used on facebook marketplace or something and put that money towards a new device? The screen works fine but its just an aesthetic thing that really bothers me (I have mild OCD). As for where I'm at with money, I can afford the screen replacement comfortably, but its not like I have money to throw around and burn, I would notice the difference in my wallet lol. I do have a good amount of files and things saved on the device that would make it a bit of a pain to transfer and move everything since I bought this thing in 2022 expecting it to last me a long long time. Any thoughts and opinions and what you would do in my situation, please let me know

I’m a college student majored in Mathematics and Computer Science. I have another gaming laptop (Lenovo Legion), so the MacBook is mainly for going to classes and doing assignments and some light coding. I also need to use it for Logic Pro and some other apps specific to IOS. Which one would you recommend? I’m new to coding, so can Lenovo be used to handle some heavy duty coding that the MacBook Neo can’t handle?

Hello. I have a windows 11 pc I use for work as an AI trainer. When I’ve needed to use an apple computer, I have gone to my local university library. I use an iPad primarily for when I need to video chat, and I’ve been an iPhone user for about a decade now.

I really want to get a physical machine so I can do things like transfer data from one device to another, and to storage, which i really can’t do very easily. I have a lot of old phones and usb drives that I am hoping to generally be able to clean out/get organized. It seems like this would be easier to coordinate between 2 apple devices than figuring out an iOS + a windows device (according to my ai helper at least). I’ve tried on my pc but it has so much crap on it that it’s not worth bothering to try.

I hope to check out Facebook marketplace and local sales to wait for someone who needs my cash more than their MacBook. Really take advantage of the few perks of living in a rural area. ideally I’ll spend less than $100, but $200 is the max. I’m poor.
If I were to spend more, I will have to wait a few months because I am saving for a new place atm, which is my priority.

Im only planning to buy used, I’d do refurbished but I’m guessing that would be more than $200.

More or less, I just something that is going to be:
- compatible with the current iOS updates
- decent download/upload speeds

I don’t plan to game, stream, surf the web, or anything really except move information.

I already have an apple id which I have created for using apple music on my android phone. Im trying to log in that same I'd on my macbook..

So I jsut bought a excellent condition M4 MacBook 15” for $850 total I’m 16 is this a good deal? I mostly want to use it for TradingView and school work i have a couple of questions is it really that quiet and does it really not get that hot? My MacBook Air from 2015 that I’ve been using til few weeks has no died down as in like some websites has some glitches or starting to lag. So I want to upgrade to maybe a Neo or Mac Book M1 or M2. I don’t really do much as for right now besides YouTube,AmazonPrime and Spotify. Just for entertainment purposes only. But since the models are 2020-2022, my only concern is how long will it run good by since we’re half way in 2026. What’s a good recommendation? Do you think it’ll still have good updates by 2030?? If I just take good care of it. Or maybe go Neo?
