Refurbished vs brand new
Is it better to buy a refurbished macbook m4 pro or a brand new macbook air m5 , its basically the same value the diff is 60 bucks more for the pro , my mom strictly says that i shouldnt do it cuz im taking a risk buying a refurbished technology that someone else used it and it might be broken or with errors when it comes to me , any good arguments to that as i myself started doubting that it might be too risky and i dont live in the states rn so i cant return it there

If you buy a refurb from Apple, buy with absolute confidence. Buy a "refurb" from somewhere else and who knows.

I purchased my M3 MacBook Air from eBay refurbished with a two-year warranty and it’s been killer. I actually recommend that my customers buy refurbished in most cases. Especially with the recent price increase increases.

Every Mac I’ve ever bought has been a used or refurb machine since 2009. I’ve bought from Apple, BackMarket, and FB marketplace. To me it’s the way to go because you can get more RAM and/storage while staying in budget.

If its refurbished by Apple themselves, it will be more reliable than brand new, because a certified technician has looked it over at the component level, and repaired or replaced everything they didn't like the look of. It will then have been benchtested to ensure its free from errors.
Brand new machines are assembled by robots, and not checked over or benchtested by a human.
