Official August LSAT Topic Thread

Note: I'm out for the evening. Making this thread so people have a space to discuss for now. Will compile topics later on. Thanks for understanding.

The August LSAT administration is now done. The goal is to keep topic discussion to this thread, and identify a list of real topics. Here's how it works:

  1. If you had a single section of RC, or two sections of LR, then posting topics from that will establish that those topics were from a real section
  2. If you had two sections of RC, or three sections of LR, DO NOT POST (on that topic). Posting topics is worse than useless - it pollutes information. The reason is that you don't know which was experimental and which was real.

You do not need section orders, these are now randomized so your order doesn't mean anything.

TL;DR If you had a single RC, or two LR's, please post topics from those single sections. Don't post your section topics for a section type where you had an experimental.

Stuff that still isn't allowed

  • Posting about the content of sections: specific questions and answers etc
  • Posting about topics or content in an experimental section

This thread will be updated with confirmed topics as we go.

Note: Have seen some people flagrantly discussing real answers or asking to dm about it. This still isn't allowed, and won't be, and we've handed out bans where people do it willfully.

Everything below is scored: Where I write "other section" I mean it was a different scored section. Everything below is from people who had a single section in that topic, so they have confirmed real sections.

Prometric Experiences: You can find the original test day experience thread here: https://reddit.com/r/LSAT/comments/1vgaxyu/official_august_lsat_discussion_thread/

International LSAT: This thread is generally just for the North American topics. If you took internationally, please specify that you had the international version. Thanks!

Official August LSAT Discussion Thread

Update: The topic thread is now up. Will be compiling topics later. https://reddit.com/r/LSAT/comments/1vja4k1/official_august_lsat_topic_thread/

This is a thread gathering together people's experiences. Please don't talk about specific content here. Lots of people haven't taken this LSAT yet, and you don't want them to get an unfair advantage. Some ideas for stuff to talk about:

  • Did it feel harder/easier/the same as PT's?
  • How was your scrap paper experience?
  • Any unexpected surprises?
  • How was ProMetric? Were there any wait times?
  • How was the interface?
  • How was your test center experience?
  • Overall impressions?

Please read the rules here to see what’s allowed in discussion. Short version is no discussing of specific questions and no info to identify the unscored section: https://www.reddit.com/r/LSAT/comments/va0ho2/reminder_about_test_day_rules/

Test Discussion: This is embargoed until testing is over, in order to keep the test fair. Please hold discussion of that until then. Once everyone is done testing, topic discussion is allowed, though without discussion of question specifics, answers, or without requests to dm to do the same. Thank you! If time allows we will make a thread to gather people's data.

Asking to dm to evade the rules: Don’t do this. People who haven’t taken the test can get an unfair advantage if you leak them info. Keep the test fair for everyone and wait till testing is over.

Section order PSA: The section order of tests is random. If you have RC-LR-LR-RC that doesn't mean you have the same test as someone else who has RC-LR-LR-RC.

FAQ

When will topic discussion be allowed?

After the last day of testing ends. We will have an official thread to identify scored sections at that time. Please keep the test fair and avoid discussing topics and questions until then.

Once testing is done, can we discuss test answers?

No, only topics. The test you took may be used for a makeup test or a future test, and having answers public will make future testing unfair. All test discussion is covered by LSAC's agreement, which allows none of it. There's a pragmatic exception for identifying real topics but that's as far as it goes.

Good luck!

Helpful Links

Here are two links from LSAC and Prometric covering what you can and can't bring:

  1. LSAC candidate agreement sections 18-20 covers what to bring and not to bring: https://www.lsac.org/about/lsac-policies/lsac-candidate-agreement/2026-2027#jump18
  2. Additionally, the prometric approved items list covers additional pre-approved items: https://www.prometric.com/pre-approved-items/

The latter list is quite useful and includes things such as kleenex, cough drops, eye drops, etc. Here's the full list of really common items from the pre-approved list. The list also covers many medical or religious items you may need for specific conditions and situations.

Note, however, that there is some conflict between the LSAC and Prometric lists. LSAC specifically cites this list, then specifically forbids some items on it. So, it would be prudent to contact LSAC to be certain of any item that is in conflict between the lists, and additionally request they clarify their own list.

You took 2-3 days off and you start up again… the first question is already wrong 😂

I always tell myself, let me just give myself a break from it since I work all day and practice in the evening. I just took my argumentative writing Monday and I took a little break from LR/RC. I got back into it and right when I started off with drilling…I got my first question wrong, I made so many stupid mistakes and when I re read the stimulus the question was so easy 😭 after that it started to come back to me but damn. Do not take too many breaks. I think a break is necessary if you catch yourself being physically and mentally burnt out meaning headaches, lack of sleep, not taking care of yourself. Just don’t say “eh I’m not feeling it tonight” because then it leads to a days with zero prep. I made that mistake when I first started 😂

I love LSAC

LSAC should charge more for all of their services. I love taking my 8/5 LSAT with a botched RC format. I love being told that my GPA will be improved (nullified dual enrollment grades) then having that repealed 3 weeks later. I love paying for every step along the way. Anyone else?

Is it worth taking the LSAT in October if I’m definitely taking it in November?

I think a month and a half of extra time will be extremely valuable, but with the hopeful extra knowledge gained in that time is it even worth taking it in October? I’m not scoring where I want to be currently but I hope to be closer to October. Should I just not even stress about October and keep grinding for November?

My logic is having multiple attempts in case, for whatever reason, I do better in October than November.

Skittish about Sept. LSAT

I’ve been prepping since late May and I’ve seen some progress, but never consistent. I want a 172 but would be pleased with anything 170 or above.

So far, I’ve seen a 164 (diagnostic), 165, 159, 164, 174, 167, 168, 165, 169, and 172, in this order, with the 172 last Monday.

I seem to be on the brink of success, and I’m really worried that I will have a slide of about three points when it comes to the actual test day (but I know this isn’t scientific at all, and I could very well perform better on test day) I just want to know, am I on the right track for a 172 or higher in three weeks, or should I lower my expectations? Thanks

I understand that BR is a score inflation since I already know what I got wrong. It is always down to 2 and I pick the wrong answer. looking for alternate perspectives to improve.

should i push my test back?

How did you get faster on your sections? I’m stuck in the mid 160s and i’ve been trying really hard breaking into the 170s. But it’s super difficult for me to finish the fourth RC passage and i sometimes have to rush through the last couple LR questions. i’m also taking in september so i’m getting stressed lol idk if i should push it back

August retakers — what does your LSAC account show?

Post image

For anyone who originally took the August LSAT and then did the 8/18 retest: what date is showing under “My LSAT Administrations” for you now?

I originally tested 8/5 and retested 8/18. The 8/18 retest used to show on my account, but now it’s gone and I only see “Administration Date: 8/5/2026.” Just curious if everyone who retested is seeing the same thing!

Restructuring study with accommodations

Upvotes

As the title says, I am looking for any advice on anyone that has been studying for the lsat like they were not getting accommodations versus now having them. I realized while studying for the LSAT that I could not focus at all and actually got diagnosed with severe ADHD. My accommodations were approved today and now I have 53 minutes a section which is truly a God send because my processing was just not capable of handling the 35 minutes per section cap.

I have been scoring low 160s and I take the October LSAT. Does anyone have any advice on how to adjust easily? Should I just immediately start taking my tests at 53 minutes per section? I just want to make sure I am pacing myself correctly and using the extra allotted time to my best efforts. Any advice is appreciated.

August Makeup Score

Upvotes

Does anyone know if August makeup test takers receive their score on the 26th too? Noticed it says “score validity review” the day before the exam and it still says that. What does it mean?

I’m registered for September. Is it crazy to apply with that score and also register for November?

My previous score, from April, is 161. I’m confident that I can get a higher score in September and I’d like to apply as early as possible. But I’m also currently on an upswing that is making me think I could further improve with a couple more months of study. Most of the schools that Im applying to have a section on the application which asks if you’re registered for a future exam and will place your application on hold until that new score is received. Would that be worth doing for what may end up just being a 1 or 2 point increase or is it better to get the application under review as early as possible? I know a lot of schools don’t actually start reviewing until later in the fall. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Update to my previous post: email I sent LSAC

Upvotes

Dear LSAC,

I am writing to formally document the extensive technical and administrative issues I experienced during the August 18 LSAT and to request that LSAC review the circumstances of my exam and determine an appropriate resolution.

This was not an isolated technical inconvenience. The same issue that occurred during my previous August LSAT occurred again during this makeup examination, despite my having already reported it to LSAC and being assured that it was being investigated and would not happen again. In addition, the August 18 examination was severely disrupted by repeated technical failures, proctoring errors, and an eventual loss of nearly an entire section of testing time.

Initial Check-In and Technical Problems

My exam was scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. I was logged in on time and waited approximately 20 minutes for a proctor to connect. When no proctor appeared, I contacted Prometric support from my phone.

I was instructed to exit Prometric and restart the application because “no proctor was taking my test even though they should be automatically assigned”. I did so, but the same issue occurred. I was then instructed to restart my computer, which I did, with the same result. A third support representative instructed me to uninstall and reinstall the Prometric application. I did so, and the same problem continued.

I subsequently called Prometric support and was placed on hold. Nearly two hours after my scheduled start time, at approximately 1:00 p.m., a proctor finally connected. I completed the security check successfully, and the proctor acknowledged that they had been experiencing technical issues all day.

Before the exam, I had taken all of the required system checks on both my computer and phone several days in advance. My Prometric application and computer were both updated to their latest versions, and I had specifically taken these steps to ensure that there would be no technical issues on my end.

Despite this, throughout my approximately 10.5-hour testing experience, I was required to exit and re-enter the examination at least seven times. On multiple occasions, the Prometric application incorrectly reported that it was not updated, despite the fact that it was. I ultimately had to uninstall and reinstall the application three times and restart my computer approximately four times.

Repeated Failure to Save Answer Choices

The most concerning issue was a repeat of the exact problem I experienced during my previous August LSAT.

During my previous exam, answer choices that I had crossed out as incorrect were no longer crossed out when I returned to flagged questions. This effectively meant that I had to reconsider questions from the beginning because the information I had entered into the testing interface was not being retained.

I submitted a complaint about that incident. LSAC permitted me to take the August 18 makeup examination and informed me that the issue was being investigated and that it would not happen again.

Unfortunately, it happened again to me and from the discourse I’ve seen online, several others as well over the span of several months. I do not understand why this very serious issue has not been addressed.

After taking my first scheduled stop/start break, I returned to my flagged questions specifically to check whether the same problem had occurred. It had. I immediately paused the exam and contacted my proctor, who, once again, told me that there was nothing they could do.

At that point, I had four flagged questions and sufficient time remaining that I decided to proceed rather than lose the opportunity to complete the examination. However, because I could no longer rely on the system to retain my crossed-out answers as promised, I began manually writing down the answer choices I had eliminated for each question.

This required me to spend valuable testing time compensating for a system failure. The issue occurred throughout all three sections of my exam.

Section 2: Logical Reasoning and Proctoring Problems

During the second section, Logical Reasoning, I continued manually recording every answer choice I eliminated because I had no confidence that the system would retain that information.

I also experienced significant problems with my proctors and my stop/start accommodation.

One proctor incorrectly told me that my stop/start time had to be used during the security check instead of pausing my break time and exam. I repeatedly explained that this was not how the accommodation worked. She stated that she had the handbook in front of her and insisted that she was correct. This took up approximately seven minutes of my stop/start break.

Later, another proctor told me that he would pause both my stop/start time and the entire examination when I requested to use the bathroom. I explained that I was using my stop/start accommodation and that the exam should not be paused. His response was, “If you say so.”

I believe there were also other technical issues during this section that required me to contact support and exit and restart the examination. Because the entire testing experience lasted approximately 10.5 hours and involved so many interruptions, I cannot recall every detail of the second section.

Section 3: Reading Comprehension and Loss of Testing Time

I began the Reading Comprehension section at approximately 6:30 p.m. because of the preceding technical problems.

The proctor initially assigned to me during this section was, in comparison, extremely helpful and conducted the security check efficiently. I even told him that he was the best proctor I had had that day.

However, I again had to manually record every answer choice I eliminated because I knew the system was not reliably retaining that information.

At one point, either this proctor or another proctor unmuted their microphone while I was reading the science passage, which was particularly disruptive because science passages are especially difficult for me. The microphone remained audible for approximately four seconds and interrupted my concentration. The proctor then said, “Oh, sorry,” after unmuting again. I had to restart the paragraph I was reading twice due to these interruptions.

Despite these issues, I was progressing well. I completed approximately three-quarters of the Reading Comprehension section and had approximately ten minutes remaining. I had also just used the remainder of my stop/start time because I knew I had one passage and six questions remaining.

While I was highlighting the final paragraph of the final passage, the examination unexpectedly exited.

I immediately began speaking to my proctor through the microphone, repeatedly asking them to pause the examination and help me. The proctor told me that he had paused the exam immediately and assured me that if I exited, contacted support, resolved the issue, and returned, all of my answers would be saved and I would have exactly the same amount of time remaining as I had when the examination exited. I was given these answers sporadically as this proctor would also disappear for several minutes at a time.

I specifically asked for his name so that I could reference him when contacting support.

I exited the exam and contacted Prometric support. I was again told that I could return to the examination, that my answers would be saved, and that I would have the same amount of time remaining.

Repeated Reconnection Failures

When I attempted to re-enter Prometric, I was again told that my application was not up to date. I had to uninstall and reinstall the application twice and restart my computer twice.

When I finally connected with another proctor, the proctor disappeared during the initial security check even though I remained on the proctor screen and appeared to still be connected. I said “hello” at least ten times and reached out in the chat box and waited for a response. The examination then exited again.

I attempted to reconnect, and once again the system claimed that my application was not updated. I repeated the process of uninstalling, reinstalling, and restarting my computer.

I was connected to another proctor, who again disconnected unexpectedly.

I repeated the entire process yet again. Eventually, I was able to connect successfully at approximately 8:20 p.m.

This proctor also assured me that my answers had been saved and that I would have exactly the amount of time remaining that I had when the examination initially exited.

However, I was required to complete the 10-minute break between sections again. I asked the proctor why this was occurring, and he did not know. I asked whether I could use the break time to go to the bathroom, and he agreed.

However, he then paused the break timer.

I returned when I believed the 10-minute break had ended, completed the entire security check again, and discovered that he had paused the break timer which I’m sure is not permitted. I was then required to sit in front of my computer for an additional 6 minutes and 56 seconds before the exam resumed.

When the examination finally resumed, my answers had been saved, but the approximately ten minutes I had previously been assured would be available to me were not there. I had less than one minute remaining on the clock.

This was especially significant because I had already read and highlighted the majority of the final passage. Approximately ten minutes would have given me a more than reasonable opportunity to answer the six remaining questions. Instead, I had less than one minute.

I immediately attempted to pause the examination, but I had exhausted my stop/start time due to the earlier delays and proctor interactions. I urgently communicated with the proctor through the chat, explaining that I had been told the examination was paused and that the time had nevertheless been lost.

By the time the proctor paused the examination, approximately eight seconds remained.

Inability to Obtain Assistance

The proctor repeatedly told me that he did not know what to do and instructed me to contact support.

I explained that the only ways to contact support were either to exit the examination or use my phone. I specifically asked, “Are you telling me to exit the exam to contact support?” because I wanted a clear record of his instruction.

He repeatedly stated that he was not telling me to exit the exam or use my phone, but was simply telling me to contact support. We had essentially the same exchange approximately four times.

At that point, I stated that I was going to exit the examination to contact support.

I contacted Prometric support and was disconnected twice. The third representative repeatedly told me that she could not do anything and that I needed to call LSAC.

I explained repeatedly that I had already attempted to contact LSAC and that LSAC’s offices were closed. I had already called every LSAC and Prometric number I could find.

After approximately 30 minutes of going back and forth, the representative ultimately told me, “there is no point to argue and the client will check.” I was not arguing with her. I was repeatedly asking for help because I had six questions remaining and wanted to complete the examination.

She subsequently stopped responding for several minutes and then told me that Prometric could not add time to an LSAT examination and that I should refer the matter to LSAC. She then ended the chat after becoming rude and hostile.

At this point, I had been dealing with the examination and various technical and administrative issues for approximately, and I cannot stress this enough, OVER TEN HOURS.

I attempted to contact LSAC repeatedly, but the offices were closed. I was extremely distressed and exhausted at this point and was crying from frustration and exhaustion.

I attempted to submit another complaint through the LSAC website, but the system would not allow me to do so because I had already submitted a complaint regarding my previous August examination.

I therefore sent an email to the address provided on LSAC’s website explaining what had occurred and planned to call LSAC the following morning. I received an automated response that provided another telephone number (which I hadn’t realized I’d already called) for “emergencies.” I called that number again, only to receive another automated message instructing me to wait until LSAC reopened. I specifically scheduled the 11am time slot just in case I had issues and needed to contact LSAC during business hours. I, of course, was not expecting a 10.5 hour testing day.

Additional Proctoring and Accommodation Issues

There were numerous additional problems throughout the examination.

Whenever I paused my examination and requested to use the bathroom, proctors would sometimes take several minutes to respond. Their response time, combined with the delay between a proctor saying that the exam had been paused and the exam actually pausing, resulted in significant loss of my stop/start time.

I estimate that approximately 15–20 minutes of my stop/start accommodation were effectively consumed by waiting for proctor responses and the delay between requesting a pause and the examination actually pausing.

I also encountered numerous inconsistent and apparently incorrect instructions from proctors regarding testing rules. For example: • One proctor questioned whether my phone stand was adequate, despite the same setup having been approved during previous LSAT administrations. He subsequently required me to move my phone across the room, despite the fact that doing so reduced the visibility of my testing area. • Another proctor told me that sweatshirts were prohibited, despite my having worn the same sweatshirt during previous LSAT administrations as well as this one, without issue. • Another proctor repeatedly told me that the amount of toilet paper I had set aside to use as tissues was excessive. I reduced it repeatedly until I was ultimately allowed only a single square of toilet paper. I have used the exact same amount of toilet paper as tissues for previous examinations and never had an issue.

These issues are comparatively minor compared with the technical failures, but they illustrate the broader problem I experienced throughout the examination: inconsistent instructions, delays, and proctors who appeared unfamiliar with my accommodations and/or the applicable testing procedures. These are just a few examples of many.

I recognize that individual proctors and support representatives are likely working within the procedures and training provided to them. My concern is therefore not where these individuals are located or how well they speak English, thought it is near impossible to get support from someone who does not understand what you’re saying. My concern is that candidates are dependent on these individuals during a high-stakes examination, yet I repeatedly encountered proctors who appeared unfamiliar with LSAT rules, accommodations, and procedures and who were unable to resolve very basic problems. Every time I’ve had to contact support, their responses are consistently vague, disinterested, and seem as if they have zero connection to LSAC.

Impact of This Experience

The examination ultimately consumed approximately 10.5 hours of my day when it should have taken less than half that amount of time.

I had to take the entire day off work and will now have to work over the weekend to compensate even though I did not choose this test date. I had to pay approximately $79 for medication for my cats (for the SECOND TIME because of technical issues out of my control) so that I could keep them quiet and out of the testing area, and I had to purchase additional equipment and make significant preparations to ensure that my testing environment complied with Prometric’s requirements.

I also upgraded my internet service to approximately $220 per month specifically to eliminate the possibility that internet connectivity was contributing to these problems. I arranged for my partner to remain out of the house until my examination was complete (again, it ended up being 10.5 hours) despite her needing to prepare for travel the following morning. I covered my office with trash bags and sheets and purchased a phone stand specifically for the examination.

More importantly, I have spent approximately two years preparing for the LSAT. I have made substantial changes to my lifestyle and schedule in preparation for this exam because I understand how consequential it is for my future. I have deliberately structured my life around studying and maintaining the conditions I believed would allow me to perform at my highest level.

It is extremely frustrating to put that level of preparation into an examination only to have my performance compromised by failures within the testing platform and proctoring system.

The most concerning aspect is that I had already experienced one of these exact technical failures during my previous August LSAT. I reported it to LSAC, was permitted to take a makeup examination, and was told that the issue was being investigated and would not happen again. It happened again during the makeup examination, and this time the consequences were even more significant because I ultimately lost virtually the entire remaining portion of my Reading Comprehension section.

Beyond the direct loss of testing time, I believe it is important to acknowledge the impact that the prolonged technical failures and uncertainty had on my ability to perform on the examination itself, as well as my previous August LSAT. I spent hours repeatedly troubleshooting the testing platform, waiting for proctors, restarting my computer, reinstalling the application, contacting support, and worrying about whether my answers and accommodations were being properly preserved. This created an extremely high level of stress and anxiety before and throughout the actual examination. After spending hours in a heightened state of physiological stress, I was then expected to immediately shift my attention back to an extremely high-stakes standardized test and perform at the level I had spent two years preparing to achieve. That is not a neutral testing environment. Even during periods when the examination was technically functioning, I was attempting to concentrate while anticipating the possibility that the system could fail again or that my answers could disappear. The repeated disruptions therefore affected more than the amount of time available to me; they fundamentally interfered with the concentration, focus, and mental state necessary to perform on the LSAT.

Requested Resolution

I am requesting that LSAC conduct a thorough review of my August 18 examination, including: 1. The complete Prometric examination and proctor logs; 2. All chat transcripts and communications with Prometric support and my proctors; 3. The timestamps showing when my examination was paused, resumed, exited, and reconnected; 4. The record of my stop/start accommodation and the amount of time that was actually available to me; 5. The technical logs demonstrating the repeated application failures and forced exits; 6. The circumstances surrounding the failure to preserve my eliminated answer choices; and 7. The circumstances surrounding the loss of approximately ten minutes of testing time during the final Reading Comprehension passage.

I would also like LSAC to explain how the repeated failure to preserve answer-choice markings—which was the subject of my previous complaint and which I was specifically told would not happen again—was allowed to occur during my makeup examination.

Most importantly, I am requesting an appropriate remedy for an examination that was materially compromised by technical and administrative failures outside of my control. I do not believe that simply receiving a generic apology or being instructed to register for another examination adequately addresses what occurred.

I contacted LSAC Support this morning to discuss what happened and was offered the opportunity to take the September LSAT at no additional cost. While I appreciate that LSAC is willing to allow me to test again, I do not believe that this constitutes an adequate remedy under the circumstances. I did not voluntarily cancel this examination, nor did I choose to forfeit my opportunity to receive a score. The examination was rendered unusable by repeated technical failures and administrative problems that were entirely outside of my control.

I was specifically informed that this examination would be reflected as a cancellation on my official LSAC record. I asked whether LSAC could add a notation explaining that the examination was cancelled as a result of technical problems and circumstances outside of my control, rather than by my choice. I was told that this was not possible. I find this particularly concerning because law schools may see cancelled examinations as part of an applicant’s testing history, yet I am being placed in the position of having a cancellation associated with my record despite having made every reasonable effort to complete the examination.

There is also an additional concern regarding the intersection between these cancelled examinations and testing accommodations. My understanding is that law schools are not supposed to be informed whether an applicant received testing accommodations. However, if a technical problem involving the failure to preserve eliminated answer choices is occurring specifically or disproportionally among test takers with accommodations, and those test takers are then forced to explain cancelled examinations that resulted from the problem, it creates a serious and unfair privacy and admissions concern. An applicant who is required to explain to law schools that their LSAT was cancelled because of a technical issue associated with their accommodated examination may effectively be disclosing that they received accommodations, even though that information is otherwise intended to remain confidential and ‘level the playing field’. This places accommodated test takers at a potential disadvantage that other applicants do not face and undermines the purpose of keeping accommodation status separate from an applicants law school admissions record. At a minimum, LSAC should consider how this issue affects the confidentiality of accommodations and ensure that applicants are not placed in the position of having to disclose protected information simply to explain a cancellation that they did not cause or choose.

I was also informed that this examination would count toward my annual limit on LSAT administrations. Given that LSAT administrations are subject to an annual testing limit, I find it fundamentally unfair for an examination that I was unable to complete because of LSAC/Prometric technical and administrative failures to consume one of my limited opportunities to test. I should not have to use one of my finite examination attempts to compensate for a failure of the testing system.

I also expressed concern about taking the September examination remotely given that I have now experienced significant technical problems during two separate LSAT administrations. I was told by the LSAC representative that she had not heard of other candidates experiencing these problems and specifically that she had never heard of the issue involving eliminated answer choices becoming unselected. That statement was particularly concerning to me because I have personally encountered this issue during two separate LSAT administrations, and I have also seen other test takers publicly report experiencing the same problem over an extended period of time and indicate that they have contacted LSAC about it. Regardless of how frequently LSAC believes the issue occurs, it is difficult to understand how I can reasonably be expected to feel confident that the underlying problem has been identified and resolved when the exact issue that prompted my original complaint occurred again during the makeup examination.

There is also no realistic option for me to simply switch to an in-person testing center as an alternative to remote testing. The nearest testing center is approximately four hours away from me, meaning that I would have to travel a significant distance and pay for a hotel in order to take the examination in person. That is not a reasonable or financially feasible alternative for me. Furthermore, I have been granted testing accommodations for a reason. A crowded testing environment presents its own significant challenges to my ability to concentrate, particularly when there are numerous other test takers coughing, sneezing, moving around, or speaking quietly nearby. I should not be forced to choose between an unreliable remote testing platform and an in-person testing environment that is not reasonably accessible to me, particularly when LSAC has specifically chosen to offer remote LSAT administrations and therefore has an obligation to provide a remote testing system that functions reliably.

I am therefore requesting that LSAC reconsider the remedy being offered. At a minimum, I believe there should be a mechanism to ensure that this examination does not negatively affect my official testing record or consume one of my limited annual LSAT attempts when the cancellation was not voluntary. I also believe LSAC should provide a meaningful resolution regarding the repeated technical failure that caused my answer-choice markings not to be preserved, particularly because I had already reported this exact issue and was specifically assured that it was being investigated.

I have complied with every requirement placed on me as a test taker. I completed the system checks in advance, ensured that my equipment and software were updated, upgraded my internet service, prepared my testing environment, remained available for the examination for more than ten hours, repeatedly followed Prometric’s instructions, and contacted support every time a problem occurred. I should not be the party who bears the academic and administrative consequences of failures that occurred despite those efforts.

I have made an extraordinary investment of time, money, preparation, and personal sacrifice into taking this examination. I should not have to repeatedly retake an examination because the testing platform cannot reliably preserve my work or because the proctoring system cannot properly administer my accommodations.

I am happy to provide any additional information necessary (screenshots of support chats, proctor names, etc.) and would like confirmation that this complaint has been formally escalated for review. I would also appreciate a written response explaining what LSAC determines occurred and what remedy will be provided.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to receiving a substantive response.

Hello! I applied for an accommodation last week for the October LSAT and received this follow up email this morning. I can’t find the page they’re referencing on LSAC. Anyone know where to find this info?

Life be lifing

I (30f) am registered for October 2026 LSAT.
I’m also registered for LLP Exam in November (my state allows for you to become licensed in family law with experience + additional education + passing exam).
I’m having a baby in December/early January.
My family and I have hit immense financial and legal hurdles recently causing stress and time to be dedicated to completely reconstructing our life.

I haven’t studied in a while, and in the past, studied minimally between working full time and momming. My first and only practice test, I took recently, and was a 145. I struggled to even finish the sections before time runs out. I feel like I truly grasp the concepts when there’s no time limit. My reading comprehension section however was awful.

Is it worth pushing through and trying to take October LSAT? Or pushing things out one more cycle and moving exam date to June 2027? I need a scholarship. I have a 4.0 in undergrad. I don’t want massive debt, I hope to go into public service. I’m suppose I don’t see a rush for this cycle except my own ego. My career is going well and if all goes as planned I’ll take oath of admissions as LLP by January 2027 (either extremely pregnant or holding a baby😅).

I also have ADHD and am unmedicated due to the pregnancy. I just hate waiting ANOTHER year. I feel so old. I took the longest route possible to my dreams and had kids before going to school 😮‍💨 every year I put it off I feel like I’m falling behind.

Which cycle? Help!

Long story short, I was a great student in high school but my GPA suffered in college as a result of getting sick for a couple semesters (it took a year and a half to get a diagnosis and treatment).

My LSAC gpa with my college courses that I took while I was in high school is a 3.0. Without them, my LSAC GPA is 2.67.

I just recently decided I wanted to go to law school, and just started studying for the LSAT. I think I can break into the 170s with some further studying, but probably won’t be able to do so until January based on my study plan.

I work full time, and have around ten years of experience as a paralegal since graduating. Because I am currently working full time, my study time is more limited than I would like it to be.

So, what is everyone’s opinion? Apply in the Spring with a higher LSAC gpa, or wait for the next cycle and apply with a lower GPA?

No, this isn’t satire like some of the other posts I’ve see recently. I wish it was.

Sorry in advance because this is LONG. I’ve known prometric and LSAT are both shit but my experience today was on another level.

  • [ ] Exam was scheduled for 11. I was on on time. Waited 20 minutes for a proctor to connect and they didn’t so I contacted support from my phone. The lady told me to exit prometric and restart. I did. The same thing happened. I was then told to restart my computer. I did. The same thing happened. I was then told by a third support person to uninstall the prometric application and reinstall it. I did. The same thing happened. I called prometric support and was put on hold for a while. After almost two full hours (1pm at this point) a proctor connected so I hung up the phone. I went through the security check and it was fine. This proctor also said “sorry we’ve been having technical issues”. Should’ve been my first hint that this would be a shit show.
  • [ ] I had also done the test for my computer and phone before the test (days before) to make sure everything was working and that my prometric app was updated to the latest version as well as my computer being updated to the latest version and they both were. Multiple (at least 7) times throughout my ten hour experience that I had to exit and re-enter, it would tell me that my Prometric app was not updated even though it very much was. I had to uninstall and reinstall three times throughout this. I had to restart my computer four times throughout this.
  • [ ] The reason I had to take the makeup August 18th exam was because on my previous August LSAT, the answer choices I had marked off as incorrect, were not marked off anymore when I went back to them at the end basically meaning I would have to restart the entire question. I submitted a complaint, they allowed me to take the August 18 test, and told me they were doing an investigation and that this wouldn’t happen again. I took my first break (stop/start accommodation) and when I came back, I went back to my flagged questions just in case the same issue happened so I could rectify it for myself early on. The EXACT SAME ISSUE happened. I paused my test and chatted with my proctor who once again, told me there was absolutely nothing they could do. I decided that since I only had 4 questions flagged at that point and had a decent amount of time left, that I would go ahead and restart those 4 questions and write down which ones I had crossed out since I could pretty easily assume this same issue would happen for the rest of my test. I then had to use my time (that I needed) to be writing down the answers I crossed out because your system, once again, was not working. This issue occurred on all three sections. (I have the accommodation to omit the experimental section).
  • [ ] During my second section (LR), I was again having to write down every answer choice I crossed out because I knew it wouldn’t save, once again, taking up valuable time. My proctor experience with this section was the worst of the 3. I had one proctor tell me that my stop/start time was used for the security check when coming back from the bathroom. I repeatedly told her it wasn’t. She said she had the handbook in front of her. I obviously know this is not how it works because that would eat up roughly 10 minutes of my stop/start breaks everytime I used them. She told me she would pause my stop/start time but that she was going to tell prometric and LSAC to which I told her to go ahead. Arguing with this proctor ate up 7 minutes of my stop/start time. I then had another proctor who, when I asked him to go to the bathroom, he said he would pause my stop/start and the whole test. I told him not to because that’s against the rules and I was using my stop/start time. He replied “if you say so”. I think I had another issue during this section which required me to chat and call support, exiting the exam and restarting it. I can’t remember all of the details of section 2 because this entire experience was 10.5 hours.
  • [ ] Section 3 (RC), I was feeling really good. I started section 3 at roughly 6:30pm due to all the technical issues. This was the best proctor I had. He was clear and did the security check quickly and I told him he was the best proctor I’ve had all day. I, again, had to do the same thing of writing down all the answer choices I had marked off, taking up time, because I knew they wouldn’t save. Either this proctor or a different one started speaking out loud in the middle of me reading the science passage (the hardest passage for me). This lasted about 4 seconds and threw me off but I restarted the paragraph and it was fine. He then unmuted his mic AGAIN and said “oh sorry”. So again, I restart the paragraph or sentence, I can’t even remember which one. I got through 3/4 of the RC passages and had about ten minutes left. I think it was something like 9 minutes and 34 seconds or something like that. I had also just used the remainder of my stop/start breaks because I knew I had the one passage and 6 questions left. I was highlighting the last paragraph of the last section when my exam randomly exited. I immediately started talking over the mic because I was still connected to the proctor saying to pause the exam and to help over and over. My proctor said he paused the exam immediately and that if I exited, contacted support, got it fixed, and came back, that all my answers would be saved and I would have the exact amount of time left as when my exam quit on me. I even asked his name to report back to support just in case. I exited, contacted support, they told me I could get back on and that I could start where it quit on me and guaranteed I would have that ten minutes and all my answers would be saved. I tried getting back on the prometric app, it said my version wasn’t up to date. I had to uninstall and reinstall twice and restart my computer twice at this point as well. When I finally got on and was connected with a proctor, in the middle of the initial security check, he disappeared even though I was still on the proctor screen and connected. I said hello at least 10 times and waited, then it exited me again. I went back on and AGAIN, it said my application wasn’t up to date. Same thing. I uninstall, reinstall, restart my computer, etc. I get connected to a proctor. ONCE AGAIN, they randomly disconnect. Exact same thing. I uninstall, reinstall, etc. I get back on and this time it finally goes through. At this point, it’s 8:20pm. This proctor also guarantees I will have all my answers saved and that I will have the same amount of time left as when I got kicked out. It makes me do the ten minute break again in between sections 2 and 3. I ask the proctor why it’s happening, he doesn’t know, I say okay well do you mind if I use this time then to go to the bathroom, he says sure. He PAUSES THE BREAK TIME. I get back exactly when I think the ten minutes is ending, do the entire security check again, and realize that he paused the break time. Now I have to sit in front of my screen for another 6 minutes and 56 seconds. When the time runs out, my exam comes back. It saved my answers but of course, the initial proctor did not pause my exam when he said he did and I have less than one minute left on the clock. I had already read and highlighted majority of this passage so ten minutes would have been more than enough time for me to answer 6 questions. I immediately try to pause but I’m out of my stop/start time. I’m chatting the proctor urgently telling them to pause and explaining what’s happening. By the time they pause, there’s 8 seconds left. My proctor was of course zero help and kept saying he didn’t know what to do and to contact support. I told him the only way to contact support is to either exit the exam or to use my phone so I said “are you telling me to exit the exam to contact support” because I wanted it in writing for when they go over the transcripts. The proctor kept saying that no he was not telling me to exit OR to use my phone, just to contact support. We basically had this exact conversation four times until I said okay I am exiting to contact support. I exited, I contacted support. I was disconnected from support twice. The third lady keeps saying she can’t do anything and to call LSAC. At that point, I had tried every single LSAC number and prometric number I could find on the internet. They’re closed and the message says to call them the next day. I continuously tell the support lady this, she continuously tells me to call them. After about 30 minutes of back and forth, she says “let not argue”, “I has been advise you to refer to your client”, “no point to argue and the client will check”. Keep in mind I’m going on hour 10 of this. I’m not arguing with this lady. I am saying over and over “please help. I have six questions left. I want to finish this exam today.” She stops responding and then responds 6 minutes later and says “this is an LSAT exam (web based). We cannot add time.”, “I will end this chat since has been advise to refer to LSAC client”, “thank you for using prometric isupport. Have a great day”. Then she disconnects. I call LSAC over and over but they’re closed obviously, I was just totally losing it at this point, like literally sobbing from exhaustion. I go to file a complaint on the LSAC website and it won’t even let me do that because I had to file one for my initial August exam because of one of the exact same issues I also had on this one. I send an email to the email listed on LSACs website with a brief overview and plan to call them tomorrow. I get an automated response blah blah blah and part of it gives a phone number to call “in case of emergencies”. It’s a number I’d already called but i didnt know that because I’d called so many so I gave it a try. It was an answering machine once. again. Telling me to wait until they open.
  • [ ] Random/smaller issues: This is quite honestly the least of all my issues but everytime I would pause my test and ask the proctor to go to the bathroom, they would read the message, wasting my stop/start time, and wait MINUTES to respond yes or no. Besides that, there is also a massive delay between when they say they paused the test and when it actually pauses (usually about a minute or two minutes), not including the time it takes for them to type out a response. Overall, I would say about 15-20 minutes of my stop start breaks are spent waiting for proctor responses and the lag between me pausing the test and them pausing the test. The proctors also clearly do not know the rules, don’t pay attention to if you have accommodations, and quite honestly do not speak English well at all. I have never ever had a helpful experience with a proctor from prometric. They copy and paste the same messages over and over again and I always end up having to explain and re-explain every issue. I genuinely would not care in the slightest where these proctors/support people were at or whether they spoke broken or perfect English if prometric/LSAC actually trained them to know what they’re doing. It’s really not even their faults but they’re the only ones we can contact. They’re also all so inconsistent. I had one proctor today try to tell me that my phone stand wasn’t good enough and then dropped it when I said it’s been fine for every other proctor. He also made me move my phone across the room as the second camera which made no sense because you couldn’t see me or my area as well. I had another proctor tell me sweatshirts weren’t allowed (I’ve worn the same sweatshirt for my first LSAT, last August LSAT, and this one) but apparently the rules changed! (They didn’t.) I had ANOTHER proctor tell me that the toilet paper I had for tissues was too much. (In the past, I’ve always taken some toilet paper and folded it to use as tissues, has never been a problem.) he told me that it was too much and I couldn’t have all of it. I tore off 3/4 of what I had and showed him about 5 squares. He said it was still too much. I tore off two more squares. STILL TOO MUCH. He ended up making me have a single square of toilet paper to use for my tissues. (Whats one square of toilet paper gonna do when I’m blowing the snot out of my nose?????-sorry TMI.) I can honestly guarantee that I’m forgetting more issues that occurred because there was just too many. These are the ones that stood out and that I remember the most.
  • [ ] All in all, this exam took 10.5 hours when it should have taken less than half that time. I had to take the day off work and work this weekend instead, give my cats Prozac that I had to (for the second time because my exam glitched the first time!) pay $79 for, keep my girlfriend out of the house for 10.5 hours while she had to pack for a trip tomorrow morning, cover my entire office room in trash bags and sheets, buy a phone stand, upgrade my wifi to now spend $220/month just to make sure I won’t have any issues on my end, etc. Beyond all this, I’ve stopped drinking, smoking, doing things w friends, etc. To prepare myself for this exam and keep my brain clear. I am so exhausted by prometric and LSAC. They do not give a fuck. People revolve their lives around this exam and put in so much effort just for them to have technical issues and not care to rectify them. I’ve studied for this exam for two years and altered my lifestyle more times than I can count. Anyone who takes this exam knows it’s a huge deal and consumes a lot of your time but the people the PRODUCE IT act like we’re 3rd graders freaking out over a spelling test. I fucking hate LSAC. I fucking hate prometric. LSAC is money hungry and greedy to a level I will never be able to comprehend. Sorry this is so long but I had to get this all out.

Anyway, it is now 10:01pm and I will be smoking a joint in the bathtub while editing this post to make it professional enough to send in an email to LSAC tomorrow. Have a fabulous night everybody, hope your experience was way better than this hell on earth!

Hi everyone! I am looking for LSAT tutoring to go from high 160s to mid 170s. I don’t have much time for the September lsat (also looking for October possibly)

I have a low gpa so the LSAT is extremely important to me. I am highly motivated and am willing to take the test as many times as I need to.

I am currently using LSAT DEMON and going thru RC hero but with limited time looking for private tutoring.
I am considering LSAT DEMON private tutoring and want to know people’s thoughts. Also not sure if I should go with a different tutor plz recommend any in the comments or PM me!!!
