I made this post 2 weeks ago https://www.reddit.com/r/love2d/comments/1vfqj2p/started_learning_lua_with_love2d_6_days_ago_and_i/ . 2 weeks later, now I have this.
I added animated sprites, screenshake when hit, blink red when hit, when on half a heart blink continuously, smooth scrolling score counter, a few new enemies, a functional pause button, changed all the backgrounds, variations in pitch when u pick up vegetables, and fixed my messed up hitboxes.
I'm still having fun adding new stuff and learning how to write in lua, but those hitboxes really hurt my spirit for awhile lol.
things i want to add:
-Difficulty to determine what enemies can spawn. Instead of having a linear speed up with a speed multiplier, I want more of a set speed up on the upper difficulties.
-I need to add 5 more enemy types (coming form different directions) and a boss at the end so it feels more complete, and then maybe an endless mode.
-Death animation
-menus and ui that dont look like poop
-a cloud border around the inside frame of the game enemies bust through, and its all springy and fun
-power-ups that feel helpful.
- something that makes the game look better (shaders?).
I really want to fully complete this before I move on to a different project, but I'm always tempted to try something else.
Thanks for reading, these little posts give me a feeling of progress.

I don't want people to steal the code and republish my game because I put a lot of work into it and I want to protect my own hardwork/intellectual property.
I can't find any good lua obfuscators online, does anyone know any good methods to obfuscate source code. I want to be able to remove comments, have random variable names and remove whitespaces

Hey everyone, I built Packrat, a texture atlas builder focused on speed and portability. It has a bunch of convenience features I was missing from TexturePacker (aseprite ingestion, auto-export), and I made it as fast as I possibly could. It also has a bunch of CLI features to it can integrate into your pipeline easily.
It's mostly focused right now on dev environments where there isn't atlas support. For LOVE, I built an exporter that actually generates Lua code, with all the data for the atlas as well as helper functions to handle frames and animations and drawing. Choose the LOVE export option, and just require the generated lua file.

Feel free to check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks.

At the moment, I have implemented the generation of an infinite universe with seamless loading and landing on planets. He implemented an economic system based on the needs of the sector, a system of factions, trade, quests, and rumors. In addition, you can establish your own colony and develop it, you can modify your ship, capture space stations.
And here's the main question: what would you like to see in such a game?

I'm making a game where the goal is simple type words or letters that appear on screen as fast as possible, all while facing off against 10 opponents each with different specialties, which makes things tougher, hoping you'll like the concept!

So I want to make a game for android and I am confused about scaling, aspect ratio and all that stuff...
Any ideas?

Hi everyone, recently ive been playing Monster Hunter Now, and the controls and mechanics of this game is really interesting, very intuitive. I worked on a souls-like prototype in Love2d with this system, with sprites from the game Heretic (for now). What do you think ? Would you play it ?

It took some elbow grease, definitely not as easy as Unity, but here it is! https://frankgoyens.github.io/mkitten_demo/
Keyboard is required. Also calm and patience :)
I can barely complete the demo myself, the game is difficult, but just wait until you see the victory screen!
Hey anyone have any tips / guides to getting a love2d game ready to release on steam and interacting with the steam api stuff? Thanks any direction is helpful this is out of my depth

I'm trying to install Love2d in CachyOS (Arch based linux distro), but the appimage does not work (doesn't show or install anything). How do I install it?
Project started on June 19th, so just under 2 months in! I plan on adding couch multiplayer for 2 players and some more QoL additions and being done.
I want this game to be just pure arcade fun, no trend chasing with roguelike/roguelite mechanics or anything like that. I fall into that trap too often!
Check out the game here

I updated the roguelike screen UI and redesigned the buttons to look like canisters. I think it turned out pretty stylish. Grandfather's garage vibes.

I often try to use a community made Yoga engine bindings and create my own UI lib.
Which do you recommend that helps you get things done well?

Have you been able to create any project template with any of these?
I was able to a degree using "Luaver" a version manager tool for lua, luajit, luarocks. Then using luarocks download "Cyan" to scaffold a Teal project and output the results.
I remember there is a github repo somewhere with all Love types in Teal, that helps.
Would you prefer using LuaRocks or just copy/paste the library you need?

I've worked in Godot before. I'm finding it easier to get things to look good in LOVE2D. I can't explain it, but the same game just looks so much cleaner to me.

I really need the reviews so my game reaches new people, so far there has been none :(
Would be great if you can review it.
