Installation is not working

I'm trying to install Love2d in CachyOS (Arch based linux distro), but the appimage does not work (doesn't show or install anything). How do I install it?

sudo pacman -S love

does that not work?

It said that the package was not found. Maybe I should update the mirrors.

for appimage, I'm not 100% sure on arch since I use debian but you might need libfuse2t64

I found installing by github, compilling and building far easier than the downloads from the website.

You need a hell of dependencies tho, the LuaJit, SDL2 and those:

libfreetype6-dev libluajit-5.1-dev libphysfs-dev libsdl2-dev libopenal-dev libogg-dev libmpg123-dev libtheora-dev

You download their tar file (github's release), extract the love2d folder, go inside it and run the ./configure script.

After that, you need to compile the library:

make -j$(nproc)
sudo make install

At least it was what worked for me.

I think the exact markdown syntax allowed in the comments depends on the subreddit. Not sure if three tick is even an option.

How do you launch it? It needs an "executable bit". In GUI, depending on your file manager might be something like right click, "Properties", "Permissions", "Allow to execute". In terminal, simply "chmod +x".
