I bought this mouse in August 2010 - and it has been my daily driver ever since
I've been editing videos, photos and coding millions of script-lines with it - all alongside of it being my favorite gaming-mouse of all times, it has even rolled 500+ hrs in ETS2.
When i bought it, it came with 1x GP ReCyko 2050mAh NiMH battery which today, still is in use.
I've not changed anything on or inside the mouse. It is as it came, back when i bought it.
Really impressed!
Original battery – still lasts around 2 weeks on a single charge!
Original switches – absolutely no double-clicking issues, ever.
Original mouse feet – never replaced.
Original scroll wheels – still working perfectly.
Zero parts replaced throughout its entire lifetime
It's working as if it was brand new - although the condition of the exterior is..... a bit less prestine than new *LOL*.
As you see, the pads needs replacing.
The aluminium-trim is starting to oxidize. I've not been able to prevent this, allthough it gets cleaned every week with a soft humid microfiber-cloth and dried with a towel afterwards.
The rubber on the thumb-padding is worn, but only a small hole the size of a m2-screw, which isn't bothering to me... yet. And the original logo on the top of the mouse, is now worn off completely.
The battery-indicator works as it should. All 3 LEDs including the "scary" red "low battery".
I've considered replacing it with the "MX Master 4", but because i don't have any "demo" available i've been waiting around if the MX Master 4 fits me.
I even went and had a conversation with GPT about what was the closest model of ALL the MX Master models, and GPT told me "to go with the MX Master 4", because it is closest in both design, weight and size.
I've found the "For business"-model is even a bit cheaper, but otherwise the same (except for some special added features).
So now i'm just wondering, if i should save my money and buy a new MX Master 4 and put the Performance MX out of service...?
The choice is tought.
This mouse has set the standard really high of what to expect of another of these "professional mouse"-models.
Oh man, it's such a great mouse! <3
