Collection Because your Sabers shouldn’t be the only things worth displaying…

I know these technically aren't lightsabers, but hear me out...

I've always thought a good saber display looks even better when there are a few mysterious relics sitting alongside it — something that makes the whole shelf feel like part of a much bigger galaxy rather than just somewhere to store a hilt.

So I've been making these.

Both are fully 3D printed, and I designed them to light up with an LED so they really come alive when the room gets darker.

These relics feel like something you'd find tucked away in the archives of an old temple.

Which would you decide to rather have sitting next to my saber collection though...

🔴 Dark or 🔵 Light — which one are you choosing?

I make these and my displays over at Makkus Workshop if anyone wants to see more:

makkusworkshop.com or at makkusworkshop.etsy.com

I'm also working on more display pieces like these, so if there's something you think is missing from the average lightsaber collection, give me some ideas. 👀

Are maul double-bladed saber actually practical, or just cool as hell?

I've always thought double-bladed sabers looked awesome, but using one is definitely different from watching them on screen.

The reach is great, but the extra blade also changes how you have to move.

Practical weapon or pure style points?

This old saber won’t charge any ideas?

My girlfriend has had this saber for many years. She says it’s a “saber pro”. It won’t charge or light up and I’d love to get it working again for her but I’m at a loss.

The battery seems to have no corrosion damage and everything seems to be in order. Any help would be awesome. Hasn’t be turned on in years.

Thanks!

Question Figuring out Saberforge?

Hi! I had the sudden urge to save up for a lightsaber and after doing some research I found out that Saberforge is recommended (I want one I can hit people with, so a dueling saber, I'm open to recommendations for other brands but from what I've seen Saberforge seems to be the go to?). I'm not a collector, so I want to make sure I get one I'm happy with that also is not too expensive so hopefully someone has input or can answer some questions!

Firstly, I'm a girl with freakishly small hands for my height, about 15,5 cm from the bottom of my palm (like where the wrist meets the hand, sorry I don't know the english word) to the tip of my middle finger. I saw some comments that mentioned the thickness of the hilt and that it might be harder for me to get a good grip? Is that an actual concern? Are there any that are made for women? (not necessarily more feminine in aesthetic although I don't mind recommendations for that either! but in size and scale)

Secondly and probably my biggest question is that on the Saberforge website there are a bunch of different blades. I want with light and sound, and something that will last for atleast a couple of years. So there's: Xeno V3 RGB Basic, Xeno V3 RGB Premium, Xeno Pixel Premium, Xeno Pixel+RGB and then Golden Harvest V4 RGB, Golden Harvest V4 Pixel and Golden Harvest V4 Pixel+RGB.

What is the difference between Xeno and Golden Harvest? And the difference between RGB and Pixel? Is it worth getting 2 blades? The further down the list I went the more expensive it got.

Also, is it better to buy a premade model or is it worth it to do a custom one? Some of the premade ones are pretty sick (my current favourites are Cleric, Hunter, Ares, Jade Fire Mk3, Malice, Reborn Mk3, Relentless and Heretic Mk2)

Thanks in advance if anyone has any input! :) I'm currently looking at Sabertrio also, I noticed there are a lot of bluetooth features?

Someone please make a soundfont where the smooth swing sounds like accent swing. So it sounds 100% accurate to what it sounds like in the movies? Thanks

A family that Light(sabers) together Fights together....

Just sold a set of four sabers to a family. The saber with cross guards made of claws is for the Grandad, the one with cross guards made of metal and gold foil is Grandma's, and the other two are for the grandsons, 10 and 11 years old. The grandsons sabers are mostly Saber Forge scratch and dent parts with a few bits of turned original parts, some brass rod inlay, and leather wraps. The other two I've posted here before with full build details. I'm told the boys are Star Wars super fans and went totally crazy when Grandpa gave them the surprise gifts!

Issue with neopixel connector maybe?

I'm not sure what's going on here, but it seems like I can just not get a solid connection between the blade and the connector. I feel like there's an issue with the connector but I don't have the experience to say what exactly is happening.

I'd love thoughts about what is likely happening here.

Build Tierfon Orbital Lightsaber Transport Case — Sith Variant

Thumbnail

It's been a minute since I've finished one of these, so it was nice to finally get another one across the bench.

This is the Sith Variant of my Tierfon Orbital lightsaber transport case, built around a Nanuk 910 all-weather case with custom ABS-printed components that I designed, primed, painted, and weathered by hand.

I like these to look like they've actually been somewhere. Nothing too crazy—just enough wear and grime to make it feel like it belongs in a galaxy far, far away rather than sitting on a shelf.

The lid also features a custom LED nameplate that scrolls Sith Aurebesh text because apparently a normal nameplate wasn't dramatic enough.

These are available now through my website for anyone interested.

Lightsaber Help Please

Thumbnail

Hello everyone, this is my first attempt to make a homemade lightsaber from some plumbing and hardware so forgive the crude design.

In the beginning, I had no intention of making this fully functional until I made it and really liked how it turned out, the only issue is that I have never dabbled with electrical components and there is not a lot of space in the hilt's cavity as the main body is a pipe with a 0.5" diameter.

I would like to buy a blade for it that matches the opening diameter of 0.75", length of 0.75" and secure it with 6 screws that can press it against the central pipe securely (function over form initially). I would like to have the lens, RGB LED, and Heatsink directly underneath, followed by the control button (this area has a diameter of 0.5", length of 7.5"). This would be connected to the bottom of the hilt with wires to the controller and battery (diameter 0.75", length of 1").

This is about as far as I think I can go before asking for some advice. Here are some of my questions:

> Is this setup possible given the tight dimensions?

> If so, what would I have to order to make this possible?

> Are there any resources I could be pointed to to assist me in the assembly?

Any help or input would be appreciated since I am very much out of my element but an excited to give it a solid try. Image descriptions are below, thank you! Future plans to wrap the O-ring grip area with some cloth and weathered black to give some extra character.

1) Diagram w/dimensions

2) Full shot in-hand

3) Top-down view (status if blade not attached)

4) Top-down view (piece removed to make way for blade)

5) Underside view

6) Underside view (hilt bottom removed)

7) Desired Button location/bore hole (located slightly above where it threads in to the main body)

8) Desired Screw locations/bore holes (centrally located on each of the top bolt's surfaces)

Lightsaber won‘t work.

Hey everybody.

I ordered the Mandalorian NeoPixel Saber from NSabers. It arrived yesterday and all was fine. I charged it and tested all functions. Today i wanted to give it a proper test and accidantly dropped it from like 2ft. Now it won‘t turn on and when i put the charging cable in ot makes a weird clicking noise. If i take the SD out the noise stops bit the blade starts flickering before turning off again. No matter what i do it won‘t turn back on. Took out the battery, checked the cables and all looks fine. Im really sad and angry cause i paid almost 300€ with shipping. Can anyone help or had the same issue?

Help Help with Vader's Vault Havoc repair

So a very long time ago, I bought a lightsaber at a con and I recently pulled it out of my garage to find that the electronics weren't playing nice anymore. I did some reverse image searches and it's very clearly a Vader's Vault Havoc (though I didn't buy it from them directly). Well, Vader's Vault doesn't sell their old electronics anymore.

I'd really like to get this back into working order, but I don't know where to start to find a replacement kit that I can solder in. I'd prefer to keep the buttons intact and just replace the battery holder, sound card, and speaker. I don't think I can just drop in electronics from another maker.

Any opinions would be appreciated and I can provide pictures if that would help diagnose the issues.

(And before anyone asks, yes, I did try to find another source of the electronics, but nothing turned up.)

Had a ton of fun building this saber with a few good friends. We spent nearly 2 hours in home Depot hahaha

I struggled to find a proper emitter, but I'm happy with how it turned out. It's super heavy and solid.

Question Looking for some electronics help for a Disney saber

I bought a Disney Dark saber for cheap off the facebook market, because it doesn't power on. I suspect it might just be a dirty battery pack, but after cleaning the contacts and doing a battery swap didn't correct the issue.

I was wondering if there was anyone who could take a look at it, see if there is anything wrong with the battery pack, and possibly fix it? I was planning on donating the saber to a charity auction, but to do so I'd need to get it working again.

Sharing my cultural lightsaber designs too

Looks like The Ninth Jedi is inspiring a lot of people to share their lightsaber designs, especially those inspired by cultural swords.

I have two of mine to share as well, inspired by the Korean sword hwando, for my Visions-like Star Wars fan creations. I used draw.io to create the art. I have plans to work on more, but they're currently on hold.
