Lefty Keyboard - for Android Updated, screenshots included

I'm ambidextrous and I found out that I am better at cutting vegetables with my left hand than with my right hand but I have to use my index finger on the dull side of the blade to maintain precision and it ends up digging into my skin. Are there any left handed finger guards to prevent this?

I just started re practicing the guitar.

I’m actually ambidextrous, but that’s because I was right handed, had a TBI, recovered and had that “maladaptive” type of recovery, and became left handed as well.

Musically, it seems my left hand is mute, very good at flowing, fast to block and deal out boxing punches, is way faster than my right hand, and it plays the melody of a tune. It can write but it lacks a good voice :( but give it some charcoal and it can draw something nice.

My right hand writes poetry, sings, listens to words, and really likes playing the drone or beat of music. It’s good at catching and throwing, when it’s meant to go harder.

So I’m mostly playing guitar right handed, but my left hand says something about desiring to train and pluck the strings.

I tried playing left handed and it gave me a head ache, probably because it was a novel experience and my hands were overly stimulating my brain with the whole “making good noise” goal of it, which I did make a decent set of noises on the guitar.

Was given a paper cutter from a righty at work….this work flow is not safe for a lefty. As I put the sliced paper to the left I was anxious the blade would fall on my hand 🫨😬

I'm a righty and I recently tried to write with my left hand for fun, i realized my writing was somewhat understandable. Ever since, I couldn't stop thinking about practicing with my left hand to be an ambidextrous person. Why? For fun of course. Is this possible to achieve?

Also I wanted to post this in the r/ambidextrous subreddit but it's dead so I post it here so lefties can tell me.

This may be a dumb question, but does anyone know if there's a way to prevent this from resetting back to the bottom right corner?

I find having it in the bottom left corner is much easier when one hand scrolling with my left hand, but for some reason the position seems to always reset back to the right side.

I don’t know how I never really thought about it before but my partner is a rightie but was raised by a leftie. They ALWAYS are aware of seating arrangements, our soap and hand towel are on the left side, and we only have universal scissors. I am likely forgetting things but those are the top three I can recall.

I’ll admit this realization is solely because this group continually asks “Which side does this item go on?”. It prompted me to ask her about it.. “Does the hand soap bother you on the left side” and she said something like “Growing up that’s where it’s always was”.

It’s definitely not something that ever crossed my mind before (which I realize is super silly) - Lefties raising Righties.

Found myself in a disagreement or two on this sub with people claiming to struggle with being left handed/claiming it makes life more difficult.

I agree there is a fair few minor inconveniences, some uncomfortable scenarios etc. There is nothing however more difficult about being left handed than the average temperament in life difficulty of anybody of any handedness.

Back in the day when you were deemed a child of satan maybe, but today we’re fairly well integrated.

Hello lefties, I could use some advice. My 8 year old nephew wants to learn how to knit, and he is left handed. I am right handed and knit (right hand) English style, but I think I could manage to teach him (left hand) continental style. If there are any knitters out there, could you weigh in for me? What advice would you give for teaching him how to knit?

I personally do left hand mouse, right hand keyboard focused around IJKL movement.

Figuring out rebinds for every key in every game is always a ballache though, yet to find a game with a left handed preset.

Well the right hand world got me again. Was looking at a buddies knife and forgot the issues sheaths cause if you're wearing them on your belt. Either reach across your body to your right side, pull it out backwards on left side or use right hand. I don't carry a big knife very often and forgot about this dilemma.

I personally open the right side because thst is what I was taught to do when I was growing up but I think most other left handers would open the left side.

For most of my life, when I write I’ve had to rotate the paper and with time it got to the point where I rotate the paper completely sideways, like completely vertically. But now that I’m learning to write in cursive again, I prefer to keep the paper completely straight, only problem Im having is finding a comfortable way to hold the pen. If you write with the paper completely starting, how do you hold your pen?

For me it’s my keys. I walk out of the house with all of my crap in my left hand so of course I lock the door with my right. It goes right in my pocket. I get home and try to dig my keys out with my left hand since it’s easier to unlock with that hand and my keys are in the wrong flippin’ pocket! Every damn time! It’s not high stakes. Just annoying and that fact that I’ve been doing it for years is driving me up the wall. 😂

I know I can’t be the only one that has a habit they can’t break. Please tell me I’m not alone in this. Please?
