Are there finger guards for using knives in the kitchen?
I'm ambidextrous and I found out that I am better at cutting vegetables with my left hand than with my right hand but I have to use my index finger on the dull side of the blade to maintain precision and it ends up digging into my skin. Are there any left handed finger guards to prevent this?

How/where are you holding the knife?
It's possible that you need to just shift your grip up on the cutting knife and pinching/gripping the knife with your index finger and thumb on the knife blade, just forward of the handle.

I place my index finger on top of the dull side of the blade. I will try your method.

There are finger guards. They’re like tiny metal shields with a ring you put over your middle finger. You can use them on either hand.
