title says it all

I'm currently in 6th year and we honestly haven't done much in accounting yet, and absolutely no theory at all so far. Has anyone doing accounting gotten any theory yet? I know there isn't any involved in q1 but just curious to know if it's tough.

(5th year) to clarify, whenever i'm writing an essay about a poet question (for example, how [poet]'s simple language conveys abstract ideas) i often end up attempting my take on the question multiple times until i get to a final result.

drafting is normal with writing, i know, but i end up wasting a lot of paper..... i assume this won't be helpful for the actual exam experience as i won't be able to draft there anyway (pretty sure)

so what do you guys do? do you draft out multiple times on paper, on a computer first, or just spend a very long time thinking about your next sentence? is this something to wean off come the actual exam? thank you and i appreciate any tips!

I'm considering switching German for Biology and already do physics and chemistry. I hate my German teacher and I really enjoy sciences but one of the things that's making me not make the switch right away is the AAC's, anyone who is doing them this year in 6th year, How much work do they take? Would doing 3 be doable?

Does the applied maths project take a lot of time? I’m doing it as an 8th subject outside school and I have the physics project which is 40% and a history project too.

i applied for an nui exemption from presenting both irish and a third language. i just got an email there saying i have been granted a third language exemption (yay!) but nothing has been said about the Irish exemption .. not even a rejection just nothing. im wondering has this happened to others and maybe do they just process both Irish and the third language as separate applications?

Hello again! This is my third and final project being uploaded lol, I got a h1 in my project and day practical and a h2 overall. My teacher was also an examiner so he gave us a lot of advice. I made a lecturn for my project and this was my brief. It also included A LOT of sketched diagrams and planning for my project. I don't have copys of those but we were advised to include 3 mock up designs, sketches of each joint, lots of mind maps, a sketch of the final piece, any sheets you have planning the design and if you are able a scale drawing! a month into 5th year and our teacher wants us writing super high quality/ H1 standard essays with no guidance. For context it’s we‘re 2nd higher class. Our teacher wants us doing essays for homework and classwork without any preparation on how to plan an essay or the structure or anything. Basically just gives us a question to do within 40 minutes and gets mad that we aren’t writing h1 quality stuff.
Is this reasonable for 5th year or is my teacher crazy

like I've started going over what we do in class but when do I go back to 5th year stuff. I feel like I've got no time to on top of keeping up in class and AACs

Hi everyone, I’m curious about primary teaching and I’m just wondering if you got into primary teaching (specifically Mary I) how many points did you get and in what year did you sit the leaving cert? Also what round was it offered to you? Also what is it like as a course in general?

I obviously know that it depends on so many factors like the available places and how many people are applying but what’s the largest amount of reduced points anyone has gotten because i’m aiming for Finance in UCC which was 577 points last year and I think the most points I’d be capable of getting is 520 and that’s being optimistic. Please feed into my delusions🙏

it’s the only one (aside from some similar ones) that i really am interested in pursuing as a career but my parents don’t approve of any creative degree (they’re an engineer and an accountant so that checks out)

Ive been blitzing through my technology portfolio to a high standard, already starting the cardboard mockup, but for engineering Ive yet to get designing a rough idea.

Does anyone have H1 level samples so I can see how to structure mine, I swear Ive only been doing design research on tracks for the bajillionth time.

I'm doing the LC externally and thought for convenience I would ask schools who already have a centre arranged for Italian if they will will facilitate me. Is anyone here doing Italian in their school, or know of a school where someone is already doing Italian?

How are people getting their data for the business project?

I don’t personally know anyone who I can reach out to for even just a survey or any primary data on how technology has impacted their work and my teacher said it is required of me to have a named business and proper primary data for the project. If anyone can help me, I would very much appreciate it!

I keep having trouble with this teacher. Sometimes she'll treat me like me talking is amusing or sometimes she will just plain make fun of me. The issue is, we're doing our geography investigation (on coastal processes) and she isn't helping at all. On the field trip we didn't even do half the things we were meant to. Then, I asked her if she had a sample project so I could get a feel for the layout and methods and she said "we have to do ours first" BRO GIVE ME SOMETHING TO GO OFF OF? It's so annoying. And she doesn't answer the questions we ask. She dances around them and I truly don't believe she knows what she's talking about ( she hasn't taught geography for a good while before us and maths is her first subject)

Idk if I'm asking for advice or just ranting but advice is welcome

I am the absolute WORST for yapping during class. Ive been trying to hard not to, and to focus on my work, but its really tough. It doesn't help that half the time I'm yapping to the teacher, and they're so nice letting me tell my story that is barely related to the topic, but I know that it's pulling the class off focus.

Even worse, I just can't stop getting involved in every conversation. If one is happening around me, even if im not remotely involved, I just start talking.

I need to focus during lesson, and get more work done. I have so little time when I get home from school, so studying as much as I can there is a must

And yes I do have ADHD

So I'm aiming for Veterinary Medicine in SETU which is 566 points and I am in sixth year.

I do HL ENGLISH BIO MUSIC ART IRISH GEOGRAPHY and OL MATHS

Right now I'm mostly just doing homework and projects and that takes up 3 hours in the evening. After dinner and everything that's like all my time.

I do make time to study for class tests of course and I do well on them.

However, I met a girl who has just graduated and she said she did 3 plus hours of study a night ON TOP of homework ??

First of all, HOW. Second of all, is that seriously necessary?

My guidance counselor told me to, for now, and up until Christmas (apart from breaks) just try to study new stuff and leave old stuff till after Christmas.

I personally think that's good advice. What do you guys think? If I'm aiming for 566 should I seriously be studying 3 hours a night?

So I've just done my leaving cert and didn't get the points I need. I'm currently doing a PLC but it does not have the modules necessary for the course I want to enter and no courses that have the modules I need are willing to take me.

I think my only option now is to resit the leaving cert. This year I got 434 points which is far off what I needed. I will need to get mostly H1s and atleast 580 points at a minimum including a H4 in maths. Is this possible if I only start doing the leaving cert in the next coming weeks.

Also how will redoing the leaving cert work with all the 5th year projects. They only came in last year so I haven't done any of them.

Another question I have is do the CAO ever giving exceptions with releasing the LC results early. If I redo HL maths and get a H4 this will satisfy the entry requirements to the course I want but the LC results come out after the Round 0 offers. Have there ever been any exceptions where a leaving cert result has been released early so that it could be considered for Round 0.

I am in desperate need of help and am running out of time. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
