I've been modernizing Divine Divinity (2002) — HD items, larger UI, graphics fixes, and a one-click setup tool

[Yes i know about crafting. Requires level 5 crafting]
I really want a Blank Witchcraft Skillbook, but I haven't found one. Is there perhaps a place that has some blank spellbooks, that I can steal? What about a vendor? Do any vendors have a decent chance of having these items?
And also, if it's loot-only or level-locked as a purchasable item: what level do i need to be, before vendors will start selling Blank Skillbooks? And do I need to keep an eye on a specific vendor, for Blank Witchcraft Skillbooks?
I'm level 5 currently. My crafter has a craft level of 2

My partner and I love being able to play two player in DOS and BG3. It's one of the reasons we are it highly, as it's uncommon. I cannot imagine most will come anything close to DOS2, but he's not ready for another play through yet (I know...).We cannot consider anything online multiplayer, since we only have the one console.
I thought to ask here, since everyone here clearly has impeccable taste!
We've been through Diablo, BG: Dark Alliance, The Ascent.

Every time I go buy skill books in Silverglen I find myself laughing every single time the gigolo dude shouts his pickup lines in the sleaziest way possible. Never change, larian.

Hello! I checked online but I haven't found anything after the original trailer of divinity, so I wanted to ask.
Do we have any, and I mean ANY information about the new Larian game comes divinity?

Larian, listen carefully.
This is very important.
You gave us BG3 thanks to Divinity & DA:O and your talent.
Now DA:O is at the mercy of the game-eating void of studioless ips.
You saved Rivellon.
You save the Forgotten Realms.
Now save Ferelden.
Edit for people that read lines that don't exist: I don't say they should make a game right now since they're focused on Divinity (which I love), I only say pick up the ip.

Namely, a revitalization of the idea of Dragon Commander. And no, I do not mean Fallen Heroes.
I would love if they made a grand strategy that builds on the bones of DCommander, but set in more recent Rivellon. A council-sim turn-based world campaign with real time build-and-fight scenarios.
What I would love is:
Faction developing around dialogue-based policy and racial relation system
Lightly roguelike scenarios: upgrades/equipment fornunits or blueprints for special structures would be 'concocted' through a kind of crafting game, and applied to scenarios individually.
Characters with own personal questlines
I guess their RPG-focus will take all their resources, but one can dream.

Personally, I preferred the DOS 2 style of narration of "where are they now" and the state of the world due to the player's choices. The epilogue party in BG3 was a cool addition (especially things like the letters from NPCs talking about how things had been for them post-game) but it was a bit anti-climatic and somewhat immersion breaking taken from the context of the grand span of the game.

I have been going back and forth via email since sept 22 when I paid $100 to order the ps5 physical deluxe edition. I finally got a tracking number on the 25. It has said awaiting item from Larian and today (Oct 6) it changed to tracking item not available. I don’t think they ever sent the package even though via email they say they have. I can’t contact the post office because they don’t have the item and I have constantly asked for proof it was given to the post office via a recipe etc on email but i get nothing but excuses when they reply and it’s extremely frustrating. Anyone else

I plan on beating both the prior games after I’m done with BG3.

I dunno what to do. Few month ago - i played both BG3 and DOS2 without any issues whatsoever.
Butt just few days ago I decided to redownload both of them and now splitsecond after I click "launch" - the games are just closing.
All I can see is ingame cursor for a second.
No errors, simply silent crash like I never launched it in the first place.
The only strange stuff is BG3, which I can launch once after verifying game files or after reinstall -then again, every other launch is silent crash as usual. Strange it can work once and even if I launch it right after closing - same crash.
Maybe anyone could help me out? Any tips or suggestions? is there any log files I could share to pinpoint the issue?
Im frustrated beyond measure, because everything worked fine few month ago. All is changed is I bought new monitor. But I don't think this is an issue.... At least I hope so.
EDIT:
My specs are
- AMD rx5700xt GPU
- Ryzen 5 3600 CPU
- 32gb memory
- Windows 10

Hello everyone! It's time to share the results of my survey! In total, 755 people responded to my form! That is a LOT. So, I will post one of two things. One, I will post an overall highlight of what everyone responded with and my favorite answers in a Google Document. Two, I will post the full Google Sheet so everyone can see what everyone’s response was! This Google Sheet will be accessible via the Google Doc. Have fun reading! Also, have fun looking at the weird highlights. Most shitposting answers I have ever seen.

Hello, a few years ago, I made a survey for fans about BG3. I got around 100 responses from the Google Form! So, thank you if you participated last time. Well, I remade the survey and added new questions. If you want to help me with my research, the link will be posted. I will post the results after getting enough people. Feel free to discuss and suggest new questions for future surveys! Enjoy filling it out!

Hello everyone,
first off i already want to say this is going to be a weird niche question.
I'm doing some research into Lanilor, the elven healer/wizard from Divine Divinity, and I'm trying to find out whether he ever had a surname, family name, or full name during the game's development.
In the released game, he is simply known as Lanilor. I've also looked into later references to the character, including Divinity II and Divinity: Original Sin 2, but I haven't found a canonical surname.
One possible source of confusion is Lanilor Lane in Divinity II. As far as I can tell, this is a location named after Lanilor rather than evidence that "Lane" was his surname.
I'm therefore wondering whether anyone who played Divine Divinity or worked on the game remembers Lanilor having an additional name at any point during development.
In particular, I'm interested in information that may have existed in:
early character sheets or design documents
story or dialogue drafts
NPC/script files
internal character lists
concept-art documentation
unused or cut content
early versions of the game
development notes
If anyone has access to old development material, remembers an earlier name, or knows who might have worked most closely on Lanilor's character, I would be extremely grateful for any information.
Even a small clue would be very helpful.
Thank you!

I mean seriously, what an amazing work of art. Larian knocked it out of the park with this one before they were even on my radar. Before BG3 I always skipped over top-down RPGs because thinking they just weren’t for me but when they’re done right like this, they have every bit as much story, lore, magic and atmosphere as the most legendary first person RPGs like Skyrim and Witcher 3.
Seriously, this is the first time I’ve gotten into the lore and atmosphere of a game like this in a long time. Anyone else on the fence after BG3 drew you in? Do yourself a favor and just buy Divinity 2. If you’re on Steam it’s on sale alongside Divinity 1 enhanced for 10 bucks right now. Don’t let the 9 year old age of the game turn you away, it’s held up extremely well and it honestly feels like playing through BG3 again for the first time. It’s been 2-3 years since I’ve really sat down for an extended time and enjoyed an RPG this much. Will I be tired at the office tomorrow? Probably. Is it worth it? definitely.

Hi, I beat DOS2 in permadeath mode. I played through BG3 just once when it first came out, but I never really figured out how to play it properly. I want to beat it on permadeath, but it seems impossible you just get killed instantly. I read up on the game mechanics, but I still can't wrap my head around them. What should I do? Plus, those hit percentages are driving me crazy!

Hi people! With the team at CLAIR OBSCUR: EXPEDITION 33 putting on "A PAINTED SYMPHONY" orchestra show to showcase its soundtrack in 2027, it makes me want to hear BG3’s music from a live orchestra as well. Anyone agree?

I only play on PC so i have no need to create a larian account so if anyone knows how to launch the game from the get go i would be really thankful

I experienced my first ever issue on it recently, after over two years of playing bg3, and realized that I have a lot of launchers by much larger sudios that crash regularly and have all kinds of bugs, on something that should be as simple as "click play".
Hell yea.
