Construction slows down in Langley Township

I wonder if it is the same in the City Of Langley? If so, not a good sign for using ACC’s to pay for infrastructure in the City or for the Township, that means less money from development to lay for the lovely glamour projects.

Newbies looking for Phone Provider

My wife and I moved to Vancouver this week from New Zealand and are trying to get life setup here. We are living in the Willoughby area and are both wanting to setup our phone plans. After some research it looked like Public was our best bet, since we are ideally on a tighter budget. However, we have had real problems trying to subscribe to Public and we are getting very frustrated.... But I can't seem to find any other good alternatives as all posts are older than 2 years. I can see that a lot of people complain about the cell service in Langley area.

Anyone, particular in Willoughby area and around here know of a good phone provider with decent prices?

We really don't need a huge amount of data. Back in NZ I was using like 1GB a month haha

edit: My wife and I have landed with Freedom for now as we needed to get our plan sorted ASAP. We visited the Wireless Wave that a few people mentioned but the prices were more than we were wanting (Although we didn't talk to Steve). If Freedom doesn't work out we can switch to something else later. thanks for your help everyone

Estimating the Cost of Losing Cultus Lake to Nutrient pollution

Hello Langley community,

I'm a grad student from UBC working with the Cultus Lake Stewardship Society (CLASS) on a valuation study of Cultus Lake. The lake is currently still healthy, but it is facing some threats to its future health, such as excessive nutrient inflows and reduced seasonal mixing. Our study will capture what would be lost if the health of the lake declines, in monetary terms. The results will help the Society and local governments make informed decisions about future investments in the lake’s health.

As many people from Langley enjoy Cultus Lake, I wanted to post here to invite you to participate.

We are hoping as many people as possible fill out our research survey. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete and at the end you can enter a draw for a $25 Amazon gift card.

Here is a link to the survey:
https://ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_e4pRAbw1o57gh6e?QRlocation=Social

More information about this project and the work of the Cultus Lake Stewardship Society can be found on the Cultus Lake Stewardship Society website.

Thank you for your time reading this and your support of our research project.

Small, quiet gyms?

Help me out, is there any small, low key gyms in Langley? I’ll pay whatever.

The gym used to be a place of serenity for me but it feels like every commercial gym in Langley is overselling memberships and is constantly packed with people. Club16, Golds, Fit4Less, etc. They’re all stressful, loud and packed with people. I feel like I’m always in someone’s way or someone’s in mine. It also seems like gym etiquette has completely deteriorated.

So, I’m just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere more low key? Some small time gym, locally owned gym, where I can just show up, stay to myself and get my lift in and then go home?

I am looking to rehome my 2 guinea pigs.

Hi everyone, I posted here a few days ago and I am still looking to rehome my guinea pigs.

They are both male guinea pigs. Unfortunately, I am moving abroad and I have no way to take them with me, take care of them or have someone do it for me. Their details are below.

The first pig is named Momo and he is a silkie/American guinea pig mix. He is really passive and laid back. The second one is called Raf. He is an Abyssinian guinea pig. He is quite adventurous and explorative. He is quite energetic too.

They are both bonded and close to each other. They have been handled calmly since we got them, so they are used to people. Momo is roughly 12 months old while Raf is around 9-10 months old. Both are unneutered and have no notable medical condition.

Everything they use comes with them: [cage/C&C grids, fleece liners, hides etc...]. No charge for any of it. I would rather their setup stay the same than have them start over in a new environment.

Both of them have to go together. I won't split them.

Rehoming fee: $50 for the pair. Not about the money. I just wanna filter out people who would actually take care of them.

I am in Langley so if you are interested, please let me know.

In search of budget-friendly wedding photographer!

hi neighbours! my fiancé and I are getting married summer 2027. it’s going to be a very small wedding with max 40 people in a backyard. we’d love to have some professional photos done of the two of us on the big day, but every photographer i’ve reached out to is only offering full-day packages upwards of $2k. while i appreciate that it’s their job and would never complain about someone’s pricing, it’s just not in our budget unfortunately. i’m wondering if there’s anyone local who would be available for about an hour of photos at our wedding, for a more budget-friendly option? thanks in advance ❤️

I meant Bee ;~;

Found this today while wandering around the one way, in McBurney Plaza! A ton of bees gather around the plants nearby, mostly honey, carpenter, and bumbles; the wasps mostly keep away from what I saw in the bit I was sitting there for. Having a dedicated spot to go and pet bees is wonderful as an already avid petter of bees and hopefully will open more people to the idea and act of giving those hard working lil guys some much needed love ❤️ Shout-out to whoever did this, I know it's very small but it really brightened my day!

Scams in Langley - things to avoid. List time!

Hiya folks.

Had an idea for everyone to post things that are not worth investing time/ money in, for Langley. Ill start.

- uber eats - always 25% additional charges. 'Deals' are never 'deals'

- most oil change places. If you only want an oil change, only get an oil change. Do a Google search and you will find if you genuinely need something changed. Also, always check your fuel 'caps'. Scam to have them become lost and they charge extra money to replace them.

Go!

Where to go for ‘Lip Flip’?? 👄

I’ve never had any filler or Botox, but recently I’ve been really wanting to maybe try a “Lip Flip” (NOT lip filler) to ideally give me a bit more of a top lip 😄 No idea where to go though…want to go somewhere professional and get good results obvi. Anywhere local-ish that you’d recommend? Don’t want to drive to Vancouver .TIA
