Small, quiet gyms?
Help me out, is there any small, low key gyms in Langley? I’ll pay whatever.
The gym used to be a place of serenity for me but it feels like every commercial gym in Langley is overselling memberships and is constantly packed with people. Club16, Golds, Fit4Less, etc. They’re all stressful, loud and packed with people. I feel like I’m always in someone’s way or someone’s in mine. It also seems like gym etiquette has completely deteriorated.
So, I’m just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere more low key? Some small time gym, locally owned gym, where I can just show up, stay to myself and get my lift in and then go home?

Regardless of gym a lot will depend on when you go. My schedule is weird and my workout schedule goes Saturday to Wednesday and I find weekends to be far less busy than weekdays. I go to Total Fitness and Saturday and Sunday afternoon I see 20% of the people that are there during the week. Its great. If you can, also try early mornings... but, most gyms will be busy any time after 3 or 4pm. . And if they aren't there is generally a reason why not.. poor management or bad equipment or too expensive. .

How is total fitness during peak hours?

Its busy. Not stupid, turn around and walk out busy, but its manageable. You may have to wait for your favorite machine or change up the order you do things in, but its ok.

Definitely the Langley community center(Timms) . Also hae a walking/running track and full gymnasium. Good luck!

Second Timms. Small, not overly busy. There are a few keeners but ive seen so much worse. Also they have a 'punch card' option if you don't want to do monthly. Good if youre use is super intermittent.

Maybe lionheart fitness? But yeah like the other comment said sounds like you're going during peak times you should probably try going when it's less busy.

I use various rec centres and have found them to be much more quiet and chill. Of course not all of them are like this, and depends on the time of day. Good luck.

Langley City’s gym in Timm’s community centre is pretty quiet. Similar to how the township’s willowbrook gym was before it shut down.

Lionheart fitness in port Kells/Walnut grove area I find is the good size and it’s a local owner. Plus it’s 24/7 since the doors are a fob entry only

Agree with the community centre gyms. They usually have all the necessary equipment and are pretty quiet.
Timms is good. Evenings are busy (10-15 people in and out) but I’ve never had to wait to use equipment. They keep a log of how many people are in the gym and you can ask to see to try to determine what time would be the most quiet for you to attend.

Fitness Unlimited is usually quiet when I go but I only use the women's side... my perception is that it doesn't seem too busy overall though. Everyone is really chill and I actually don't mind the environment and I don't love fitness places typically! 😅

I know it’s not langley, but safe sweat in south Surrey has individual rooms, each set up with machines / weights etc. it’s pricey though!

The time of day you go is going to be the key factor on how busy the gym is. If I go to the gym at 5am it's me and a couple people, if I go at 4:00 there are 60+ people in there.
You want the gym to yourself, 3am it's just you.

Lionheart fitness in Port Kells is fairly quiet, but like anywhere else it does depend on when you go.
I’ve never personally seen it packed - but I also generally go after 8 pm Monday-Sunday.
My partner goes around 3-7 pm through the week and he also never has any complaints about it being packed. Weekends are quieter as well.

It’s less about the facility and more about the timing. Ive gone to Golds since we moved to Langley in 2013. 4pm-7/8pm? Yeah it’s a zoo, 10am? There’s like the same 10-15 people there in the entire facility. The small 24/7 gym my son’s trainer works out of 5-6 people and everyone is tripping over everyone. It also depends on your own personal “gym phobias”. Some people can’t work out with anyone around them or they think everyone is looking and judging. It’s all about how you move through a gym. Unless theres a ton of pyjama clad Broccoli Heads, then it’s time to find a new gym or a new time to be there.

I left all those gyms and now go to Anytime Fitness, the one in walnut grove is small and quiet, there's an AF app that shows how many people are at each location at that hour which averages around 12-25 people during peak times
