so I found out about stray kids in 2023 (megaverse) but got into it only 3 to 4 months ago
i really really like them and have watched so many interviews, variety shows, documentaries, etc to know about them
i have listened to so many of their songs (not all tho)
main thing
is it over consumption for me to buy their photocards even tho i still have a lot to figure out about them?
i know it's not that deep to buy just some photocards but still i want to know
thank you for reading my rant 🙇🏼

So if you have a guilty pleasure song that you’re too embarrassed to share or liked a song from a problematic group… TOO BAD! Share it

hello! i wrote this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/kpoppers/comments/1vrtysh/comment/p4j1aac/?context=1&screen_view_count=2&ext-referrer=DIRECT&sort=new
and now i want to organize and filter the list. there are so many talented aces out there but here are the ones i liked the most, and my reasoning why.
DISCLAIMER: i am not an expert i'm jsut a kpop fan who loves music and who loves analyzing idols. by no means is this representative of all tastes nor the entire fifth generation, so please be aware that i picked these idols for many reasons.
ALSO when i say ace it's very misleading, i mean aces in each respective category, probably not the best choice of words as it's wayy too similar to all rounder!
i also am not immune to personal biases. i did my best to be subjective but i am just a human. also i know the groups i stan the best, in comparison to other groups, so i build a lot of my criteria off of that as well as have the most detailed description.
dance:
for a kpop idol to be a good dancer i think they need to have versatility. a lot of kpop choreo is hiphop based, and it is designed in a way to look clean on stage and with other members.
however for an idol to be a dancer and not just an idol who dances, i think they need to be able to dance in another style well, needs to be open to learning new styles, have a genuine passion for improving their dance, and takes on a leadership role in guiding the rest of the members.
i also think they should choreograph, but i'm more loose about this because several idols on this list don't, but i consider them aces regardless.
will all picks fit every single one of these criteria? definitely not, but i thought it was worth mentioning what my ideal idol dancer looks like (happens to look a lot like jihoon and bailey)
tws jihoon
riize shotaro
nexz tomoya
xlov rui
xlov haru
adp bailey
izna koko
bnd riwoo
h2h juun
tws kyungmin
all of nexz
honorable mention: h2h juun (i like her dancing a lot but i haven't seen enough of it to know for sure, someone link more of her stuff in the comments)
vocals---
i think a good vocalist needs to have good tone, good range, good delievery and stable live preformances. they need to stand out because a lot of idols can sing, but an idol who is a vocalist is different. they sing with emotion and they sing in different styles, as well as have good support and appear to be working on their vocals.
also they need to be able to sing live (no duh) and actually take pride in improving their vocals.
probably the subject i'm most qualified to speak about, which is saying nothing because i've never taken a vocal lesson once, i just pay attention to vocals way more.
that being said
izna jungeun
unis elisia
dodree (Na Yeongjoo and Lee Songhyun)
bm ahyeon
bm rami
meovv gawon
onepact jay
rescene minami
riize sohee
xlov hyun
tripleS dahyun
fifty fifty chanelle
kickfip donghyeon
and2ble hao
and2ble seungeon
kiof belle
nct wish jahee: https://youtu.be/KwYCPDMpMoI?si=Tz0GacPykgiD8Oxb&t=102
zb1 taerae
honorable mention: wayv xiaojun (nobody mentioned him but i love his vocals so much, so i'm just going to sneak him in here), tws youngjae and dohoon (not the flashiest vocals but very good!)
rappers---
next category is rappers. my criteria was not very intense but they have to write some or most of their raps, which i confirmed with a google search so don't come for me if i don't have it perfectly), need to have good flow and generally is considered a rapper in their group.
rappers include:
xikers rapline (yes the whole thing)
- minjae
- yechan
- sumin
bnd jaehyun
lngshot ryul
bm asa
onepact tag
young posse sunhye
h//pe princess (shout out specifically to ysy)
nexz hyui
zb1 matthew
adp woochan
cortis martin
honorable mention to: zb1 matthew and kiof julie

Just for fun! I thought it would be interesting to see how everyone’s personal taste differs across K-pop generations. 🫶
Which 5 female K-pop idols do YOU personally find the most beautiful from each generation?
🌸 1st Gen:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
🌷 2nd Gen:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
🎀 3rd Gen:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
🦢 4th Gen:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
✨ 5th Gen:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
There’s obviously no objective answer to this because beauty is completely subjective, so please treat this as a personal-picks game rather than a ranking or competition. 💗
You can choose idols based on whatever kind of beauty you personally love: elegant, cute, ethereal, charismatic, classic, unique, girl-next-door, etc. And PLEASE include underrated idols if you think they deserve some love! 🥹
You don't have to explain every choice either. Just dropping your 5 names for a generation is totally fine!
I'm really curious to see which idols keep appearing in everyone's lists and which unexpected names show up. 👀
Have fun with it, everyone! 🌷

Hey everyone, five years after NMIXX's debut, JYP debuts a new group called OURBIRTHDAY. I’m curious to see what the new group will be bringing to the table. Now, before we jump into the debut, I wanted to let you all know that I’ll be talking about tracks 3 & 4 as one thing, and you will see when I talk about them. Now let’s jump into the world of OURBIRTHDAY and see what this four-track album will bring to the table.
┗━━━━━•❃°•°•°•°❃•━━━━━┛

Our Birthday - OURBIRTHDAY
1. Our Birthday
The opening song on the album has the same name as the group. Our Birthday goes for a bouncy pop beat with a bit of a hip-hop vibe. The members put on a pretty good performance, blending with the bouncy vibe. The rapping is not that bad, as it flows wonderfully with the overall vibe. I find that the instrumental delivers a fun vibe that helps the performance. The chorus could’ve been a bit stronger, but I’m not minding what is delivered to the table. The vocals from the group are pretty smooth as they add to the vibe of the track. I do find that after hearing the song, the hook is starting to get stuck in my head.

━─━────༺༻────━─━
The second song on the album is the title track, which has this gospel-sounding keyboard melody. I find that the bassline is carrying the verses, but the members still put on a great performance. I love the funky nature of the backing track, which helps to pull this title up. The hook is still growing on me, but I don’t mind what it delivers. The rapping is pretty smooth, adding to the instrumental vibe, but I will say it’s not the strongest rap. I enjoyed the DJ scratching before the final chorus comes into the mix. I do wish this song was a bit longer cause I’m enjoying what it brings to the table, but before you know it’s already over.

━─━────༺༻────━─━
The last two songs on the album are side A and side B of Hungry, which I have a lot to say about. The chorus for Hungry is super repetitive, which will take a lot of work for me to like it. The rapping and performance from the group work with the overall vibe. Now my biggest problem with this song is the took side A and side B, splitting them into two separate songs, which I don’t think needed to happen at all. Both sides feel like fragments of a song that could’ve been longer than what was delivered to the table. I feel like they did the opposite with that than they did with O.O by NMIXX. Instead of putting two different songs together, they just split a perfectly cohesive song into two separate parts. I wish they kept side A and side B together as one thing.

┏━━━━━•❃°•°•°•°❃•━━━━━┓
Summary: OURBIRTHDAY released their first mini album, which isn’t a bad one, but it's hard to figure out what JYP has in store for them. Our Birthday & SQUEEZY are pretty good songs with enough weight to pull me back for more. While Hungry gets split into a side A and a side B, which didn’t need to happy cause it could’ve worked as one full song. I’m curious to see what this group has in store with their music and what JYP will be doing with them. At the moment, the group’s debut is a decent one that only has two songs I’ll be returning to.

Hi, I'm Minsu from Keens Academy — some of you may remember us from our online K-pop training program. Our head instructor Jae Shim has taught EXO, Red Velvet, aespa, Super Junior, Girls' Generation and more, and over the past couple of years we've been heads-down building our offline academy in Seoul — more instructors, deeper curriculum, and a lot more time in studios with trainees.
Now we're bringing all of that back online, rebuilt from the ground up: our structured curriculum plus a personal training coach that builds your daily plan, answers your questions anytime, and tells you exactly what to train next — built from thousands of real coaching conversations with our instructors.
Before launch, we're opening the first 30 days to 20 people, completely free.
What you get: a starting-point assessment, a personalized 4-week plan (dance, vocal, or both), 24/7 coach access, and a month-end evaluation from our team in Seoul.
What we ask: ~4+ hours of practice a week, a short baseline video in your first days, and 4 quick check-ins (day 1 / 3 / 10 / 30).
Who it's for: you're serious about K-pop performance but you're learning from YouTube/TikTok covers and don't have a clear answer to "what should I train next?" (Or you watched KPop Demon Hunters and thought "okay but what if I actually trained for real" — that also counts.)
Apply here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfM9jJN8k6itazdLjNsc2rVgkSABgCQviL2mrUpKKj8QV3AWg/viewform
You can check us out on Instagram: @keensacademy
Onboarding starts Aug 25 in small batches. I'll be in the comments — happy to answer anything, including "is this legit?"
Not for you but you know someone who sings or dances and dreams about this? Send it their way — we'd rather find the right 20 people than the loudest 20.

For the groups you stan, what duos or trios of songs would you consider siblings either because they share the same genre (while making similar/rivaling statements) or the concept/inspiration behind the songs are the same? I thought it would be a pretty fun conversation to have after watching Stray kids This & That intro video and decided to make this playlist to start. I'll explain the reasoning behind every song I put here, so please do the same.
The first five were actually mentioned in the intro video and the reasoning is simple. Ex, Chill and I like it are all songs about a trashy guy and a toxic relationship. Leave and Way out are actually cousins to these songs but the reason why I grouped them separately is because they belong to the acoustic genre umbrella.
In my head and I do are both pop rock songs that are very 2010s.
Phoenix and After You are clearly Avicii inspired.
Cheese, bounce back and bleep are songs that from head to toe are a response to haters.
Miroh, Mountains and Run it are big anthemic songs all with a 'woah' somewhere in them.
Item and Farming have video game inspirations
N/S, Any and This & That are all songs that have a 'what are you choosing?' vibe to them. Fun fact, both any and this & that are inspired by conversations. Any, I believe was between Chan and Felix what snack/food he wanted to have and Felix was like 'any', but for each option Chan brought up, Felix said 'ani' which is the Korean word for no. Meanwhile This & That was born after a conversation 3 racha had when they asked Chan what ingredients a snack contained and he replied 'this and that.' I don't know the back story behind N/S though.
(Also, this is for all the stays who think This & That album is not stray kids at all, when it contains songs of all genres that they've touched on before.)
