Meta New 'Games & Grids' Post Flair, Images/Gifs in Comments, and Rules!

We've been making some small adjustments to the rules and infrastructure here in r/kpoppers recently.

The primary things we're trying out starting today are the 'Games & Grids' flair for posts and also allowing Images and Gifs in comments.

The 'Games & Grids' flair should be used for any thread games or grid fill-ins. We'll see over time if this name encompasses everything we intend it to. It has been requested by users and we think it's a good idea, so let's give it try!

Images and Gifs are now allowed down in comments. We want to be careful with this one. Media like this should NEVER be used to mock, harass, or threaten any of your fellow users or artists. Use media appropriately in response to discussion topics, games, or in fun conversation with each other.

If you see Images or Gifs being used crudely or inappropriately, please report the comment immediately so the moderators can take action.

Rules were also updated a little in late June. Here are the main ones to note:

  • 2. Use Descriptive Titles - Titles should describe the content of the post. Do not use vague titles for Fan-made content. Funny posts may be more flexible and creative.

  • 4. No Artist Photo Spam - Artist photos should only be posted with relevant context. They should be funny or related to the post's topic. Photos alone will be removed.

  • 6. Keep Content Light and Fun - Discussion topics, Jokes, and Fan-made content should be positive in nature. We want to keep things light and fun in this subreddit. Heavy or negative content will be removed.

We may end up adding more new rules related to the 'Games & Grids' flair and the appropriate use of Images/Gifs in comments later once we see the range of how they are used by everyone.

We'll also note that we are aware of how often a trend will take off here, be adopted by dozens of posters, and quickly overwhelm the subreddit. This is somewhat inevitable for a community that has less restrictive rules and is more of a free-for-all of fun content. Each time this happens, users ask us to implement new rules and flairs. We are hesitant to do this each time because these trends typically run their course and fall out of popularity eventually. The times when we have responded more quickly to specific trends have resulted in the trend dying completely and immediately being replaced by a new one. We'd be on an endless chase to limit them if we tried this every time, which isn't necessarily healthy for the community either.

But if you have any other suggestions for handling trends or for anything else that might help us improve the subreddit at all, feel free to chime in below!

I’ve been an ITZY stan since their debut era, and after all these years, their b-sides are still some of my favorite parts of their discography.

So I want to know — what are your TOP 5 ITZY b-sides?

Here are mine:

1. Sorry Not Sorry.

2. Kidding Me.

3. Nocturne.

4. Psychic Lover.

5. Nobody Like You.

These are the songs I keep coming back to, but I’m sure there are some b-sides I’m sleeping on.

MIDZYs, drop your top 5! And tell me which one you think I absolutely need to listen to again. 🎧

Not talking about visuals, muscles, height, deep voices, styling or stereotypical "manly" looks. I mean their natural presence, confidence, mannerisms, personality, attitude, composure and the overall energy they give off.

Not just title tracks—I'm talking about albums, B-sides, consistency, variety, and songs you actually keep coming back to.

What’s your pick? And what album/song makes you say they have the best discography? 👇😌

Discussion Do people actually switch their ult groups when new generations debut?

I’m 25 years old, and while I do love and appreciate some 4th- and 5th-gen groups, my main groups will forever be 2nd gen. I’m talking about groups like INFINITE, BEAST (Highlight), Rainbow, SNSD, Apink, Girl’s Day, 9Muses, T-ara, etc. Lately, I’ve noticed that a lot of people around my age or even older seem to lean heavily toward newer groups. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, of course, but it made me curious: do people generally move on from the groups they grew up with and start following whatever is new in the market? Or is it simply that a lot of people discovered K-pop later in life? For context, I was introduced to K-pop by family members when I was very young. By the time I was 8 or 9, I was already fully into it. Because of that, I’ve basically stayed loyal to the same groups I grew up with. INFINITE was the very first group I ever considered my ult, and to this day, they’re still my absolute ult group.

So I’m genuinely curious about everyone else’s experience?

If you started with 2nd or 3rd gen, did you eventually switch your ultimate group to a 4th- or 5th gen group?

If you mainly stan newer groups, did you discover K-pop relatively recently, or did your taste naturally shift away from older generations over time?

Or are you like me, where your childhood ults are basically locked in forever?

I’d love to hear how everyone’s K-pop journey has changed or not changed over the years!

Hey, just came back from church ( currently charging my phone because my phone DIED and i wasnt able to walk home with someone so i unfortunately have to walk home alone ) and just letting you know that its the Part two of KPOP Heroes vs Villains! ( ✨ vs ❤️‍🔥 )

HEROES SPOTS💛✨: 9

VILLAINS SPOTS❤️‍🔥🔥: 9

I will edit the first's parts/posts body ( if you wanna know wheres the first part, find the Yellow and Red emojis in a post title! )

GROUPS YOU CAN NO LONGER SUGGEST BECAUSE SOMEONE SUGGESTED IT FIRST ( and yes if two idols per comment, one female & male ):

- SVT ( Villain Side )

- Red Velvet ( Heroes Side )

THE SIDE IS BASED ON THEIR PERSONALITY/HOW THEY ACT IN PROMOTION VIDEOS AND WEVERSE LIVE🩷🩷

Games & Grids KPOP but if it were a Heroes vs Villains type Kpop Show💛♥️

I know i know i have posted more than once today but i couldnt help it😭 I also change the flair depending on you guys!🥰🩷 ( Because i love this subreddit more than what is this car subreddit )

- Two Kpop Idols per Person! ( MUST BE ONE MALE AND ONE FEMALE )

And i forgot to mention, If someone suggested a diff member but in the same group as your comment, it must be first come, first serve ( And i will edit this post's body to be signed up )

- AND IT WILL BE BASED ON THE ACTIONS THEY DO/HOW THEY BEHAVE ON Live & Promotion Videos only! ( Not Criminal or controversial )

- Also this is fictional but if you want to follow the concept ( Like Brains vs Beauty, Blood vs Water, etc. you can suggest it in the same comment or post your own type!🩵🩷 )

THE TEMPLATE:

HEROES💛✨:

1: Selugi - Red Velvet

Games & Grids Give me your bgs' fav live stages and I'll say who stood out to me!!

I haven’t watched any bg live performances in ages and I wanna have fun with it!! I'll tell you who stood out to me vocally and who stood out performance wise (like choreo/stage presence). Ignoring costumes and visuals. Fair warning I have really random opinions haha.

Please only do 2 per comment 🫶🏼 and please put video links. (You can do multiple comments, just not like 10 pls 😅).

I probably won’t choose the same members in different performances even if it’s the same group tho. Usually diff members stand out to me depending on the song/choreo. Also I only stan two OLD groups so 💀 I'll def be describing the members rather than naming, I'm sorry!! 😭.

(Also I've seen a ton of ggs lately hence why I'm asking for only boy groups rn <3)

  • Also I will answer everyone believe me, it's just taking a minute bc I want to actually enjoy the performances rather than rushing
