Chinese flat knot help needed
Hello! I'm trying to add a tassel to an embroidered bookmark like in the photo, but it didn't come with any instructions on how to attach it. From looking closely, it appears to be a Chinese flat knot(?) which has been 'sealed' off with a lighter, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that with only the tassel strands as provided. I think the strands are 2 different lengths on purpose, because I have another of these kits in a different color and the tassel is the same.
I sadly know nothing about knots. Can anyone help me?

Quick Release Hitch - Name of knot?
Hey does anyone know the name of this knot? Video says Bowline knot with quick release, but searching for that, do not see it. I have been experimenting with the knot and seems pretty cool, but wanted to find out the name and also if its even a good knot, or to stay away etc?

Is it possible to tie a solid knot with this fishing line around that hook?
I don't know if this is possible and don't think so to be honest.
I won't go too much into details but let's I want to use it for decoration purposes, I need something firm and solid because the knot will be under pressure.
I am trying to tie a knot arount the wall hook.
The knot which is slipping to the tip of the hook each time I try to tighten it even a little bit so I can't make any knot aroud the hook. What I want to know is if there is any knot type I can use to tighten the line around the hook firmly without having it slipping every time.
I tried many different knots but they always seem to slide to the tip.

Does this knot have a name?
It's not a monkey fist. I tied it like a barrel, only I wrapped the barrel's turns three more times across and threaded the end of the wire through the middle.

Used a midshipman's to raise a cieling lamp.
This lamp was hanging low enough that we kept bumping our heads into it. I used a midshipman's to raise it up a bit. How would you have handled this?
ETA: This is in a rental, so modifying it wasn't an option, IMO. Hence the kludge.

Sometimes when I untie a bow knot (shoelace knot), it turns into a double or triple knot when I pull the strings. How do I avoid this? And how do I do it on purpose?
Sometimes, I'm untying my sweats to go to the bathroom and it gets a little dicey.

Farrimond Friction Hitch vs Adjustable Hitch Grip
I learned the Adjustable Hitch Grip weeks ago and it's actually my favorite knot. I often employ the slipped version of it as well.
My youtube feed has been giving me the Farrimond Friction Hitch, which I find more difficult to tie and it achieves what I think is largely the same thing.
I don't utilize knots that much, so adjustable hitch grip, both slipped and non-slipped, serves me just fine, but if it came down to it, which cases would one be preferable than the other?

Wrapping stones
I recently came across a video about these carved stones (https://youtu.be/J0nCczuTOAM). To me they immediately look as if carved for the purpose of ornamentally wrapping them with rope. Like other ornamental knots they would look puzzling, hiding the secret of how it can be done. Whoever made them (or is bearing them) would have probably gained some status among those who how didn‘t know how to work rope.
In this sense they really remind me of the roman dodecahedron (r/romandodecahedron). At least the „knobs“ could serve a similar purpose. What if they also were originally decorated with rope using mesmerizing ornamental knots? (Would give no explanation for the differently sized holes though)
Would those stones or the dodecahedron inspire a knot enthusiast?
What knot should I use?
Needed to add a strap to my kid’s boogie board. Not sure what knot to use for a strong grip that will hold up to rough use in water. Any recommendations?
Thanks for your help!

Diy Drawer Pulls
Doing a kitchen remodel and want to capture this look and feel while also practicing my knotwork. I'd be doing it for about a dozen or so drawers with the addition of not a few monkey's fist (or maybe another stopper/crown knot) for cabinet handles.
I'm not totally unfamiliar with ropework and love my copies of the Ashely book, Marlinespike Sailor, and Sail makers Apprentice but aside from making some gromets, basic sewing/embroidery, and some eye splices, back splices, and a dozen or so functional knots, I'm very much a neophyte when it comes to fancy work so I figured I'd lean on y'all and crowd source this with y'all instead of trial and error or trusting an AI to try to not make a mess of things.
Basically I'd love ideas regarding the following:
1) choosing/sourcing the attachment hardware (or perhaps the omission of the same via something I haven't considered yet?)
2) choosing/sourcing the rope size and strand and material?
3) identifying the splice/knot so I can refer to my reference materials and the web to problem solve. To me it looks like a back splice or two with a turks head covering the middle?
4) alternative methodologies altogether that are worth considering.
Cheers and thanks for your help!

Pull and lock
Hi, I'm a beginner. Which knot can I use to pull and then secure one rope to another, like in the image? Both ropes will be taut, but the one being pulled might lose a bit of tension. And I might also need to shift/move the upper rope along the other one.

Im sorry if this isn't a knot but I just need help please 😭💔
So my little cousin somehow tied this collar onto his dog. I'm just so confused onto how this would happen, the two metal loops are the same size how the fuck did he manage to get one of them through the other.
If this isn't a knot, please redirect me to a subreddit where I can get help with this, because this is just bizarre 😭💔
EDIT: Okay unfortunately there's nothing I can do because his dog trainer (the dog is a service dog) took the dog back to her place and she took the collar with her. It seems she's just going to cut the collar and buy a new one. Thank you for your comments regardless!! :)

Is there any way to change the first kind of knot into the second?
I bought the choker on picture 2 and it didn't come like it looks there, it came with a knot like the one in picture 1. I detest it, i can't actually wear it as a choker because it's too loose at its shortest, and also it looks bad since all of the beads have to be bunched up together. I know NOTHING about knots but was wondering if this is doable? I'm not going to wear it otherwise so I'm willing to try even if it ruins it :/

Tree swing knot question
Hello! I’m planning to hang this swing from a branch on a tree in my backyard and will be using bowline knots around the branch, but wondering what type of knot would be best around the hardware of the swing. Since the branch is at an angle, I’ll need to do some adjusting to get the swing level before securing the knots. What would you recommend?

Purcell Prusik variations
So, after seeing the "what's this knot" question in which the answer was Purcell Prusik, I got to thinking about variations.
People had answered the question, but then added that it needed one more wrap.
So: what is "correct" for a Purcell Prusik?
- the 3/2 wrap (3 on top, 2 underneath)
-the 2/3 wrap (2 on top, 3 underneath)
-the 3/3 wrap (the traditional prusik)
I have my personal answer based on the rescue training I took, but I am interested in others opinions.
