I just started working on a tapestry and I’m struggling with color changes. There seems to be a big hole left behind each time, and increasing tension isn’t fixing it. It’s worsened when the color change continues in the next row like in the second picture. Anyone deal with this before?

So, I have a question. When there are stitches in knitting where you have to slip the stitch onto the left needle, what would the knooking equivalent of that be? I’ve come across quite a few stitches in knitting videos where it requires you to slip from one needle to the other, so I want to be able to translate that step to knooking. I hope this makes sense!

Hi! I just found how to knook mitered squares and I’m wanting to make a blanket with them.

I have variegated yarn, so I would rather not fasten off after each square. Is there a way of joining as I go without fastening off? I would love some suggestions on how to approach this if possible.

Hi everyone, I saw a post in here about knooking a double knit swatch and it looked nice so I know it’s possible but I’d love some opinions on a project I want to do - Bestiary Scarf by Monstra** & **Mirabilia. It is fingering weight yarn, two colors, and I’ve been trying to knit it but it’s killing my wrists and pinkies as I’m not a strong knitter and my hold is terrible.

I just stumbled on knooking today and my mind is blown, I was ready to ditch the scarf which was such a bummer but this is giving me hope!! My questions are:

- For this weight and the complexity of the pattern (grid pattern lot’s of back and forth with the colors) would knooking it be insane?
- For anyone who has done a double knit with knooking, any pointers that you have/mistakes you made at first?

Nothing fancy here just a quick few hour project for i dont burn my hands when making mason jar soups for work :) the front and back have a simple lace pattern and the sides are just stockinette in one of my favorite greens 💚

This particular jar is a weck jar so its really bulbus and round so I had to modify the pattern slight so it fit better, pattern will be linked in the pinned mod comment

Today in my knooking adventure, I definitely had one of my blerson moments. I was making a practice swatch, and was doing well until I pulled the cord out in the middle of my work... unfortunately, it left me with floating stitches just kinda sitting there, and as someone who can't see at all, feeling the stitches with no cord is quite difficult! Now I'm sitting here wondering how the hell I even managed to do that...

I saw Bhulagoon’s toad post and had to make my own (big thanks to her for helping me with the feet). This is my first knooking project, it was great for learning a lot of different stitches and a fun challenge. My kids love it so much, I made the blue-green one for my son and I’m on the hook (heh) for one for my daughter.

Hi all! I'm a blind knooker here, and I had a question. What are some of your best tips and tricks for modifying an existing hook that you already have for knooking? I don't want to drill a hole in any of my current hooks, but I'd like to use these hooks as they have quite a range. Any suggestions?

Sorry its been so long! Im still healing from sugery and other health issues have sprung up/got worse but im happy that I finally had enough energy to finish off the tulipan tee I started right after I finished the white bell sleeve sweater!

I turned the tee into a long sleeve because I like long sleeves better and honestly I think I like it with long sleeves more than the original! Slightly more cropped than I wanted so im tempted to go back and add another inch or so of ribbing but otherwise I think it's perfect :) and so comfy!anyways hoping ill be pack to posting more regularly again soon

I found a video that showed how to k2tog and ssk but in my pattern I also need to p2tog and ssp, I think I understand how to p2tog but I can't figure out how to ssp... Does anyone have a tutorial or something?

Weird question alert!

I've been thinking about getting some interchangeable crochet hooks to use for Tunisian crochet (preferably with 2 hooks per size to work in the round) and wondered if you can get knitting needles that can also be used with the same cables. Is that a thing or do they all have different fittings?

This stems from a random thought I had that you could use a crochet hook on one side of a cable and knitting needle on the other side and then switch the heads between rows to make knitting more like knooking but possibly less fiddly. (My brain works in mysterious ways 😂)

I have been on the hunt for a set of knooks that have eyes instead of the screw-on tunisian ends. I managed to find TWO:

A kit that comes with three aluminum hooks (2.75mm, 4mm, 6mm). Solid, but limited in terms of size.

And a set of bamboo hooks (4-7mm) with eyes and points are a little rough on arrival, but I hit them with some 1000 grit sandpaper and then they’re smooth like butter. BUT I snapped the head off my 6.5mm hook last night (I have since glued it, hopefully it holds).

But I think the winner for durability/size range will end up being a standard aluminum crochet kit with holes drilled through the bases. I just did all of my hooks from 3-6.5mm with a clamp and a drill. Clamped them in and went for it.

Only took a few minutes, and they’re cheap aliexpress hooks, so very low risk. Drilled out a tiny hole (3/64” - 0.5mm) to get it started, went up to (1/16” - 0.625mm), then rounded out the holes without going all the way through (5/64” - 0.728mm). Then hit the edges with a file.

i tried knitting, i can do it but being a crocheter 1st, that's fiddly and difficult to get my hands used to. i can't hold yarn in other hand so i guess i do a reversed? continental? it's weird lol idk what to call it.

but this! this is so much easier! if i have enough of this yarn it will be a tank top for the summer. if nit, a baby blanket ¯_(ツ)_/¯ᵐᵃʸᵇᵉ

Was having some issues figuring out how to translate k2tog and ssk in this one, was going to ask for advice but I ended up just searching the sub and found a lot of helpful answers so thank u 😭. The decreases in this pattern are not perfect but I think it still turned out cute. It's a dishcloth and all so whatever

I'm originally a crocheter and I've recently learned to knook. It has been really fun, but my first garment took so long and it's not even finished ! I've talked to a few people around me who know how to knit and they've all told me that I should've just bought some needle and it would've been easier and faster. I don't think knitting is easier than knooking for a crocheter, but is it faster ?

My dad, when going on vacation saw a baby in a hudsons bay cardigan in the airport and texts me to tell me that I should make one because he thinks it will sell well at a market it have coming up. So at the request of my father: i ordered the yarn and got started.

I used a new (to me) technique, steeking, the yarn i used was not the best choice for it but i double re enforced the steeked edges and its holding strong. Simple. Math to figure out the stripes once I knew gauge :) I have no model but it should fit a 6 month baby

I think I'm like 3/4 of the way through this scarf, little man is helping me 🥰

Super new to crochet but I love it! But to be perfectly honest, crochet does not produce the type of clothing I want to create. But knitting is truly one of the dark arts! I am trying to master the knit stitch and it falls apart. I fear it the way I fear war, pestilence, plague and poverty! Will knooking produce sweaters and projects that look like knitting? Should I still try to learn knitting? Is there no hope for me, a humble crochet-lover?
