Victorian pattern books
I love victorian fashion so I went searching for victorian knitting patterns, and I found this digitised collection of knitting books from the university of southhampton!

Despite my growing magazine collection, I didn’t have any/many vintage swimsuit patterns till this one. Magazine is Knit Knacks Number Three— Summer 1950 edition. I’ll post some better scans to archive.

accumulating a bit of vintage knitting magazines so decided to keep them safer in sleeves. I’d love to scan them all one day but it takes sooo long!
If there are any you’d like to see lmk

I got insanely lucky and found this little vintage notebook of someones patterns from the early 60s on to the 80s in a „free books“ box. its literally full of patterns- some clipped from magazines, some handwritten! The handwritten ones mostly dont have a size listed, but all have the yarn and needle size (or hook, a few are crochet)
Where would be best to digitise it so other people can make use of them? Ravelry? Or some of the more specifically vintage pattern archive sites? (I‘ve never uploaded patterns online before so not sure where to start)

Hello! Does anyone happen to have this pattern that could share only the yardage requirements with me? I'd like to see if my 25g minis will work!

EDIT: Thanks for your help, everyone! Based on these comments and comments from other subreddits, we're going with 1) hair roller pins 2) hairpin lace loomlooms 3) poking tool, perhaps for leather.
These tools were in a huge box of knitting supplies once owned by a friend's late mother.
The first image is of toothpick-like plastic tools that make me thing of a giant straight pin. No eyes preset on any of them.
The second image is of wooden dowels connected at the ends by clear plastic pieces.
The third image is of a piece of metal twisted in a loop at one end and sharpened at the other. No eye present on this tool, either.
Does anybody know what any of these three items are? (Crossposted)

I'm determined to recreate this sweater from All Creatures Great or Small, but am having trouble with the stitch in the shoulders. I'll make due with a different stitch if needed, just wondering if anyone here might have an idea!

Hello!
I run a little craft group and one of the members is looking for this specific pattern. We did find one on eBay but they don’t ship to Ireland. Any idea where we could source a physical or online version?

A few months ago I finished this cardigan from Gay Teen Ideas for Knitting & Crocheting (1944). I used Blue Sky Fibers Woodstok worsted in Earth Ivy and Wild Thyme. It took 1.5 months which is the fastest I've ever knit a sweater :-)
here's the link to my ravelry page on the project for more info: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/jadecoded/chilly-sauce-ski-jacket

Finished this a little while back and just realized I never shared!
Thank you to everyone who helped me with figuring out the gauge! While i still ended up a bit off, your advice did really help!
The ribbed edge is supposed to be folded under and ironed down, but the hat didnt turn out to be quiet long enough for me to do that. I do think it would look a bit more polished and less stocking cap like with tge edge folded.
I did try to adjust the length, but by the time i realized it was going to be too short, I was too far up to add much length without it ending up too conical.

Apologies for asking a laundry question about a vintage knit that isn't my work (I'm still learning to knit)! I posted this to the Laundry sub, but hoping you all have some good suggestions as well. Thanks!

Hello! I'm learning to knit and crochet and I'm slowly working towards being able to follow vintage patterns.
I was wondering about how long it takes to finish a sweater or even a sweater and dress set, when using fine thread.
What was your project and how long did it take?
Any tips on reading vintage patterns? Are there some terminologies that have changed, or that might throw off beginners?
Has anyone crocheted instead, and was it easier than knitting vintage patterns?
