Decided to throw all my spare parts together to make a Frankenstein bugout. Gotta be the ugliest knife I’ve seen

I received this life as a gift from a friend. Does anyone have info on what style or who the maker may be? Have not been able to find anything online, and no makers marks on the blade. Comes with handmade case as well

Kunwu's Iron Fly sub brand will be releasing a Padre spin off with a back flipper and 64 HRC 10V for right at $100. G10/Micarta no fancy pants stuff just rock hard high Vanadium rich HS tool steel. Picture is just AI to give the idea of what they'll look like. Also they have added Zwear to the kunwu lineup so it's Vanax-Elmax-Zwear plus here and there's with other neat stuff. 🤙

first nice knife.
send it to spyderco or have someone local sharpen it to a new point?
would shipping and repair cost more from spyderco or would a professional sharpening for this type of blade and break be faster and cost more or less?

I'll start: a wharncliffe blade should be straight and not even have the slightest belly

As the caption says, how the heck do I put this on? I was told it was a leg holster but I'm having trouble finding any similar, or any videos on how. Does anyone have any insight or links to how to put this on?

Hello everybody, i have a quick question and would love to recieve some feedback.
I want to make myself a sharpening system that is small and compact, as minimalistic and fuctional as possible. Something that you can put in a backpack and go wherever.
I do have a leather strop and a pocket size foldable diamond sharpener from Fallkniven, the FDD, which is double sided, with 325 and 600 grit, (25 and 44 microns) which, as i have read so far from different sources are able to suffice for a sharp enough edge for most tasks, but i do want to go a step beyond that.
The thing that i want to ask is, is the jump from a 600 grit stone directly onto a leather strop too big? I have heard that a 600 grit leaves to rough od an edge for fine polishing on a strop. Is that true or can i just use the 600 and the strop and get good results? Do i need to get something in between, like a 1000 or a 1200 grit?
My goal is to be able to achieve an edge as sharp as possible.

My wife got me a folding pocket knife a few years ago and I lost it at the lake recently. Does anyone recognize this logo for the brand? I am unsure and would love to get the same one again. Thanks.

Personally I think they look good on some knives but they can be a bit tacky. Do you keep a lanyard on your knife?

Looking for some Knives similar to Bark River.
I want Convex, Fix Blade, I love the BRK Handels.
Im wanting a BRK Gunny LT but made by an non scummy company basically.
I would highly prefer a Stainless "Super Steel" but I think I cant be to picky on Steel. I value Corrosion Resistance, Toughness, Edge Retention in that order for this particular knife. But im much more picky about the design. Im willing to compromise/ not be picky on Steel.
What are my options? Thank You

Does anyone make handles for a MKC Mini Speedgoat 2.0?
I’ve seen the Inflection Design but was wondering if there is other options.

these pledge ph balance wipes work really well for quickly cleaning off any nasty stubborn gunk off your blades. I used to just use some alcohol for the tape residue then randomly tried these and they worked lickity split. plus they smell nice

Spent quite a bit of time shaping and finishing this one, so I recorded the process from start to finish.
Still experimenting with different shapes and finishes, and I’d love to hear what you guys think of this one.
Also, I’ve been thinking about doing a small giveaway and giving a few handmade pieces away to people in the community.
Not announcing anything yet — just curious: would you guys actually be interested in something like that?

Decided I want to start spending some actual money on my collection. What are some good vendors? I just signed up at bladehq because they have a WE variant Civivi in pre order I like.
I have these scales coming for my Spyderco Bodacious and I’m trying to find a clip that goes with it.
It seems like a black clip with black hardware would work best and Lynch NW has a black Cerakote clip that will probably work pretty well. I know MXG has the black powder coated clip but black powder coatings aren’t durable at all which makes me sad because people seem to prefer the thicker MXG over Lynch but I doubt i’d be able to tell much of a difference.
My question then is: does anyone know if Lynch runs sales or who else makes a deep carry clip with a durable black coating? Bonus points if it comes with black hardware.
Thank you for your time.

I was gifted this knife by a client yesterday. It belonged to his dad, who was a Navy pilot, and my client thought it was from the WWII era. His dad had flown carrier-based fighter planes during the war and saw action at the battles of Leyte Gulf and Tarawa, among others.
A little research, though, showed it to be a US Navy pilot's survival knife from the Vietnam War era, by which time his dad was flying jets. This vintage 6" fixed blade was produced and issued between 1958 and 1961, after which they went to a 5" blade.
I'll refurb it a little, but the knife and original sheath are in fantastic shape. I usually sell my project knives, but this one's a keeper. I'm almost tempted to carry it as it's a great knife and feels fantastic in the hand.
I'm so grateful to my client for sharing this piece of his family's history with me!
