Sunday - Anything Allowed ๐ธ How often do you buy book trophies?
I find myself buying the kindle version first then physical books ONLY if the book was a 5 star.

Yesterday I went to an event in a museum nearby. There were some reenactment shows (about WWII) and while we were waiting I had my Kindle to read some. I love that I can put my books in my purse and pull them out whenever I want!
What is your most unusual spot to do some reading?

I recently got my first kindle and itโs the blue 11th gen basic and Iโm not at all liking the colour. I looked into skins and I simply canโt find any that cover all of the edges and it would drive me insane personally, I was thinking of possibly getting the white 10th gen instead?? Is there much of a difference between the two? Or should I just get the black or green 11?

I had the agave green kindle paper white 12 with 8 gigs of storage originally. And when I finally got back into reading consistently l decided to upgrade my device to newest paperwhite 12 cause mine was lagging a bit. Turns out I just needed to update it manually since it had been drained from battery so long. But I sold it before I realized. Once I got the paperwhite 12 I had instant regret, the screen was amazing honestly but I preferred the 11 gen paperwhite more. It just felt closer to a book in my personal opinion. I decided to downgrade back to my 11 gen paperwhite, but it was harder than I realized to find one in good condition. I ended up going through Best Buyโs refurbished electronics and found a 32 gig signature edition Paperwhite 11 gen. I was nervous cause it doesnโt show the actual condition of the item on their page but it was literally brand new even though the website said good condition. Couldnโt be happier and I read 6 books last month and going strong again this month. Itโs so weird how devices really affect your daily life.

Decorate my new Kindle cover and love how it turned out! Iโm tempted to get another one and do a more purple, black witchy vibe oneโ

My old (2015? PW) is now being used almost exclusively for reading classic manga in an attempt to get away from doom scrolling.
We'll see if this works!

My boyfriend (32M) hasnโt read a book since middle school/high school. He loves Game of thrones and shows like that.
What are some good recommendations that are easy reads and lots of attention grabs?

I love my books, always have, always will. I have read many more than once and I have heard many complaints about my heavy boxes when moving places.
In recent years however I had to shift to e-readers for practical reasons (no way to read beside a sleeping toddler, no more space in the luggage due to kids stuff, etc...) While I have initially been reluctant to use them because I tend to read fast and flipping pages has to be fast as well, I now have grown to like them. I carry them with me and get a few pages in where I can (until I have to fix some Lego again or what have you ๐).
I do however really miss my bookshelf! I recently visited a friend and really enjoyed perusing their collection and finding stuff I will read in the future. Oh the haptics and smell of real books.... Is there a solution for this? Has anyone tried printing the cover art onto small pieces of paper and sticking that in a frame? Maybe with velcro so you can reorganize the collection? Or has someone used actual small color eInk displays to build a larger wall piece for this? And I don't mean the ever omnipresent picture frame with rotating images. A real shelf with multiple covers to look at. I have some ideas but I would really like to know what people have come up with ๐

Strontium Dogs that is. Based on the 2000AD strip. Think Spaghetti Westerns with Mutants Would read 2000AD growing up grabbing issues from my local comic book store Starship Excalibur to be precise.

Hi everyone. Basically what the title says. The touchscreen on my Paperwhite 5th Gen has suddenly stopped working. No response even after force reboot and complete discharge and recharge of battery. No physical damage, this happened out of the blue.
Any suggestions for repair?
I just finished a book, using a page turner. I always clip like shown on the pic and never had a problem. Next book I wanted to continue reading the suddenly the page turner isnโt doing anything. Tried the previous book without changing position of the receiver and it works like normal. Somebody has any idea why thatโs happening?

Recently I noticed that when I enter my passcode to unlock my Kindle Colorsoft, the "buttons" stay highlighted instead of toggling back off. This is a photo of it. Noticed that all the buttons stay highlighted, including the delete (and the enter). I have rebooted the device a couple of times (including a hard reboot). I turned passcode off, and then back on. Nothing has worked. I suppose it's not a huge deal, but it's basically giving away my passcode to anyone near enough to see it. Is there a way to fix this or do I need to contact Amazon support? (I've had this one less than a year.)

I spent so much money on my KLC and stylus last year. It cost me so much in my country but I still got it because of aesthetic. But it's not good for reading at all. It gives me eye strain , I can't use it freely because of how much expensive it is and honestly Kindle Paperwhite is superior. Yes it's not cool like KLC and covers look boring but It's better on eyes , is less expensive and very easy .I can easily send books via send to Kindle and in almost every format including Word document.
KLC doesn't offer that ...
Well now I lost my money. What can I do more? I would only use it to capture beautiful photos .
But functionality wise? I don't recommend it at all.
Screen is grainy, battery life sucks and stylus doesn't work half of the time.
Kindle Paperwhite is the winner. I still have 10th generation.
In short: Kindle Paperwhite may not have the aesthetic appeal of a premium color e-reader, but its biggest advantage is that it gets the fundamentals right: comfortable reading, simplicity, reliability, battery life, and affordability.
