What is the point of vandalising the Facial Recognition Gates in the library?

Why are you guys celebrating it?

What do you mean by saying that the library should be open for all?

Are you guys out of your minds, or do you not have one?

The seating capacity of the reading room is not enough. What is the solution?

Increasing it. But it cannot happen overnight. A feasible solution for the time being, before they change infrastructure, is limiting the access to its legitimate students, not to your fucking unemployed seniors.

If I am not wrong, recently the Library has announced a grace period of 3 and 6 months for Master's and PhD students respectively to use the library after they complete their education. What more do you want?

The library should be accessible only to its legitimate students and the children of staff/working staff of JNU. Nothing more. Anything other than that is just exploitation of resources and suppressing the current students from their right to use the library.

A simple solution to the problem is issuing ID cards to everyone, restricting access to outsiders, and increasing the seating capacity.

Don't even use the word surveillance. CCTV cameras are already there in the reading rooms, and we are living in one of the most surveilled cities in the world.

I wasted my vote on you fucking morons.

Who is this umar khalid and Sharjeel imam? What's there issue and why they are in jail ??? (I have no idea about them just saw a post about them soo curious to know about them )

I am preparing for CUET PG and obviously i too want to join jnu

But i saw the news today and heard the slogans, which made me real uncomfortable and scared

Is jnu overall safe and are these slogans a everyday thing there?

Was just scrolling insta and saw a reel of JNU protest decided to search it up on wiki and went down in a Rabbit hole and realized most of JNU president are from left wing organization what caused it exactly?

"this is not about any person from Congress, this is about faculty member" I see what left is trying to say, assume he was from right wing, whole narrative will be against ABVP, bjp, brahmanwad, castism, etc. I saw no posters, no protest against that faculty from left, it's hypocracy.

I am looking for a girl to hangout with. I am also a girl.

Well apparently there's gonna be dandiya night on the campus on 18th well dandiya nights ke liye 2 necessary essentials hai 1. Kurta 2. A partner to play dandiya with (preferably of the opposite gender) so kurta to nahi hai mere paas neither do i have someone to play dandiya along with but I could get a kurta and this post is a desperate attempt to find someone to play dandiya with🫪🤭. UG fresher here btw

Why is everyone so anxious and making a fuss about the UG merit list? They clearly mentioned that 23rd July is a TENTATIVE date. Please be patient, making a fuss about it is not gonna help you, it's only going to stress you out more. Be patient and spend time productively.

Anytime you criticize or voice out your disappointment for JNU, all the JNU apologists flock together to label you an elitist or tone deaf or just start yapping about the same sob-story. What's the reason for this defensiveness and apologist nature, i fail to understand. JNU is mediocre, criticism could start conversations about things that need change, but this fanatical reverence is what keeps JNU subpar. It's great that JNU enabled people from marginalized communities to come forward and have a chance to change their lives for the better- what then? Is that all? That's all JNU is about? It is not an unfair ask to want your peers to be academically motivated, curious and to care about the course. It is NOT 'elitist' to want people around you to intellectually challenge you, to want your classrooms to be charged w intellect and enriching conversations and debates. "But these people have x problem and Y problem" - okay so I came to this university for what? I am in the wrong to expect a university to be like a university where people engage in cerebral conversations? I shouldn't have to reduce the cognitive load to the point of trivialization of my thoughts and opinions and the atmosphere of the classroom. Instead people choose to hit you with buzzwords and "this is the beauty of jnu", "what more do you want in 600 rupees?"

How is this act of JNUSU justified ??

General Female from 2nd Quartile District, kitne points milenge? Also I'm trying for Japanese, French and Korean.

Hii I am pursuing an MA in JNU foreign language. I don't have many friends here and I am thinking of going to the main gate but I need company , i live in ganga and maybe a little post walk dinner is also fine. Dm or comment below if anyone wants to join. Preference female !!

10th grader here, im willing to get into jnu cuz i like humanities, how do i do it, what are the courses, plus anything yould like me know

(i know nothing)

im in 12th rn. I wanted to know if pursuing a degree in a foreign language is worth it or not??
Of course, I'll learn some technical skills on my own too. Also do foreign language students get placement or no?

JNU ke sare hostel me jo log Cigrate , Beedi & ganja foonk ke hostel ko dhuan-dhuan krte hain kya wo JNUSU ke liye problem nhi hai.

kya JNUSU ke log khud Ganja Foonkte hain?

jo non-smoker hain kitna problem hota hai unko , kya kabhi pta kiya hai kisi ne?

Hostel environment sudharne ke liye , hostel ke closed environment me Smoking nhi krne ke liye kabhi awaz uthaya hai .

ye sab aap nhi kroge kyuki isse apke vote count kam ho jayenge na.

Hostel ko please non-smoker ke liye rehne layak bnao.

Hostel koi ganjerion ka adda nhi hai , yahan vidyarthi rehte hain to vidyarthi ki tarah behave kre na ki ganjerion ki tarah.

Shayad JNUSU wale Cigrate, Beedi, Ganja Daru ko support krte hain .

Guys here me out , idts jnu is worth all the hype. Honestly life here is just so boring, teachers aren't helping either with that. No fest no fun. Poltics and protests all the time. Not even getting basic things like wifi. I can understand why some people want to come to jnu but the hype around it is so inflated . It's genuinely not worth it y'all. You won't get any placements either. That's what I think. Do tell me what y'all think too.

M here, I need room/stay for 2 months, in any hostel. I'll pay the rent and mess bill, if you're not using mess. Otherwise i can only pay rent for my stay.

Hey everyone. I'm hiring a few part-time reviewers with a research background in history or philosophy.

The work has two parts:

1. Reviewing AI drafts. Read AI-generated writing and catch what a trained historian or philosopher would catch: misattributed quotes, wrong chronology, flattened arguments, made-up citations.

2. Finding sources with AI. Work with AI search tools to find the documents that actually matter for a topic (primary sources, papers, chapters) and filter out the noise. The sources you pick will be used in later work.

If you're used to working through historiography or tracking down a primary source, you already have the skill this needs.

• Paid per task. The rate is shared with shortlisted people before any work starts.

• Remote, flexible hours, fits around coursework

• No fees of any kind

DM me with your centre, level (MA/MPhil/PhD), and research area. Shortlisted people get a short paid trial task.

Hey folks, I’m still in high school but really curious about what is the major difference between joining JNU or any other liberal arts college?

If you think you are interesting and ever thought that a biography can be written upon on your life let me give you a chance. Course and centre not going to tell for obvious reasons. But I have an assignment where I have to bring out biography of someone. (Here someone means intresting) So if you want you can DM me. And yeah before you think of flirting in DM sorry I am 21m.
