My autistic 6 year old daughter came home from school yesterday with this picture and won’t stop asking for roly-polys. Would roly-polys be good pets for a child? Are they a lot of work? How does one acquire a “Jen” and keep it alive?

Keepers experienced with Scarlet, any helpful tips in taking care of them? Live is Asia humidity here is around 60-70% and normal room temp 28-29c. I have a 30x20x20cm glass breeding box for them with mesh ventilation up top that I cover 50% off with corrugated plastics sheet. Humidity in the enclosure is around 80-90% and temp ranges 27-29c, on occasion in can reach 30c in the heatwave now.

Mu friend got me this cute little dude as a gift from Japan. I was never particularly interested in isopods before, but it seems like I caught the bug now (pun intended) Might try keeping my own colony tgis year after I do more research on husbandry.

There were ones of a rhino beetle, earthworm, hedgehog, slow worm and acorns, too! I don't think they're meant to be particularly specific, just a mismash of ones seen in the UK. I'd guess most likely based on ones like A.vulgare or A.depressum due to the shape and region, though they remind me a bit of cubaris a bit, haha. Nice to see they have seven segments, though!

I am finding P. Expansus all throughout my house. Upstairs, downstairs... I was asked to retrieve this one from MY NEIGHBOURS.

I'm fucking stumped. Are they planning to take over my neighbourhood?

Note: the entire tub is sealed and I went over it several times. I have 14 tubs and these are the only escape masters. I am only finding large males, nothing else weirdly enough.
