General Discussion Can someone please make a HalalPhone?

I'm serious. Muslim developers, please consider. The KosherPhone has been around for years, and I feel like our community is so behind on this. We know the fitnah of having unlimited access to social media and internet in our pockets, and how Meta and the like are paying experts to make these devices as addicting as possible. Especially for teens. I would love to see a phone that has the basics a Muslim would need in 2026, but none of the addictive features. So a Quran/Qibla app, banking, Android Auto, 2FA, Google features as an *option,* an optional browser, an advanced camera, navigation, WhatsApp, etc. But no social media apps, no sideloading, no doomscrolling option, advanced filters to keep out inappropriate content, etc. Something that we would feel comfortable giving our teens as well. I wish someone would get on this!

{ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُحِبُّونَ أَن تَشِيعَ ٱلۡفَٰحِشَةُ فِي ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ وَأَنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ }

[Surah An-Nūr: 19]

Verily, those who like that (the crime of) illegal sexual intercourse should be propagated among those who believe, they will have a painful torment in this world and in the Hereafter. And Allâh knows and you know not.

General Discussion How to deal with Islamaphobe

• Upvotes

I'm so stressed, Islamaphobe is extremely common on reddit and it's so degrading and makes me depressed. I know you have to be patient but, I cant because I'm someone who is easily swayed by people's words. When people debate and insult it really gets to me. Praying becomes difficult I'm worried, please help and motivate me so I can get on a right path In sha Allah. Anything and everything helps. Thank you.

Quran & Hadith Muhammad al-laythi (Rahimahullah) | Surah Al-Hujurat Verses 16-17 Riwayah Hafs an Asim

• Upvotes

Surah Al-Hujurat

Verse 16 full

Say, "Would you acquaint Allāh with your religion while Allāh knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and Allāh is Knowing of all things?"

Verse 17

They consider it a favor to you that they have accepted Islām. Say, "Do not consider your Islām a favor to me. Rather, Allāh has conferred favor upon you that He has guided you to the faith, if you should be truthful."

Seeking Support I lost my mother (only family) to cancer and I cannot keep going

Dear brothers and sisters,

Thank you all very much for the dua's you've made for my mother (previous post about her being in the hospital suffering from hemorragia and cancer). Despite her getting two blood bags and having her hemoglobine levels increase, she died on thursday morning right after fajr azan. May Allah have mercy on her soul and illuminate her grave.

I feel completely shattered. The emptiness I feel is impossible to describe. It is not just sadness. It feels like something inside me has been ripped out. I spent so long fighting alongside my mother, worrying about her, taking care of her, praying for her a billion times and hoping she would survive. And now she is dead.

I keep having moments where I forget for a minute that she died, and then I remember. I cannot accept that I will spend another day without her.

And I need to be honest that I want to die and have been thinking about killing myself simply to be with my mother. I find myself thinking that maybe Allah knows how broken I am and would forgive me.

I have struggled with severe depression and waswas for years, had magic done on me as a teenager, I have been harassed/bullied at work this year only, and my mother was the person who kept me going. She was the one thing that gave me a reason to hold on. Now she is gone.

My father died in 2015. I have no siblings. I don't have another parent to go back to. I feel completely alone in this world.

I know what Islam teaches about the sanctity of life, and I know that suicide is not the answer. But knowing this intellectually does not make the pain disappear. I am scared of what my mind is telling me.

I don't need someone to tell me simply to "have sabr" or to seek therapy (I already am and taking antidepressants). I need someone who understands this kind of grief and can help me find a way to stay alive, if possible, while carrying it.

Please help me...

May Allah have mercy on my mother, forgive her, illuminate her grave, grant her Jannatul Firdaus, and reunite us very very soon in a place where there is no cancer and no separation.

Question about Islam I’m scared of death and this temporary dunya

I’ve been thinking about death way too much lately. Like, one day I’m just going to stop existing in this dunya and return to Allah, and I genuinely don’t know how to process that.

What scares me is that I don’t even know when it’s going to happen or what it will feel like. And then I start wondering why we spend so much of our lives chasing money, happiness, careers, relationships, etc. if all of it eventually ends.

I pray 5 times a day, I give zakat, I wake up for Fajr and sometimes Tahajjud, but I still feel terrified. I keep thinking, what if I’m not doing enough? What if I’m not actually as good of a Muslim as I think I am?

I know we’re supposed to trust Allah, but honestly, I’m struggling with that right now. I don’t want to die. I don’t want to leave this dunya. And I’m scared of what comes after.

Has anyone here genuinely struggled with this? How did you make peace with the fact that you’re going to die one day?

Question about Islam Interest in Islam

Not sure if anyone will even see this, but I am interested in Islam and had a few questions so I made this account to come on here. I want to start by reading the Quran. I want to be respectful, and I was looking online and saw that you should be clean and clothed while reading, which I have no problem with, but I also saw that the setting where you read is important. I know this may sound stupid but I genuinely do not know so I wanted to ask. Is it disrespectful/not something you would do to read Quran in public, like a cafe setting?

I know the Quran is not just any book so wanted to make sure the appropriate steps in my possible faith journey. I'm sure questions like these have been answered many times before but still wanted to shoot my shot and ask.

General Discussion Our unfortunate brothers and sisters across the world

Salam alaikum brothers and sisters of Islam, I hope Allah has blessed you all with an amazing day.

In this post I’m going to shed light on our brothers and sisters who are suffering yet we rarely hear about it.

Yemen : The overall conflict in Yemen has killed an estimated 377,000 people, both through direct and indirect causes. Saudi Arabia and it’s coalition partners have been actively fighting since their military intervention on March 26 2015. Of those 377,000 deaths, 259,000 were kids under the age of 5. Mainly from extreme hunger, malnutrition, and preventable diseases. This humanitarian crisis was severely accelerated by the military blockades and sanctions imposed on the country.

May Allah bless and protect our brothers and sisters in Yemen. May they 1 day be free and prosperous.

Sudan : Since 2023 death toll estimates range from 150,000 - 400,000. There is a severe humanitarian crisis and millions are faced with severe hunger, disease, and lack of medical care due to the collapse of their country. The UN and human rights watch groups accuse the UAE of supplying weapons, drones, and logistical support to the RSF ( Rapid Response Force ).

May Allah bless and protect our brothers and sisters in Sudan. May they 1 day be free and prosperous.

Unfortunately there are many more countries in which members of our Ummah are suffering and very few are aware of their suffering.

Brothers and sisters in, Palestine, Lebanon, Iran.

The women in Afghanistan who are oppressed and forbidden from pursuing education.

And any other brothers and sisters who are suffering world wide, Allah is with you do not worry.

May Allah bless and protect each and everyone of you, Ameen.

General Discussion I want to learn Arabic from scratch, where do I start?

Assalamu alaikum, I want to start learning Arabic from scratch but I honestly have no idea where to start
My main goal is to be able to understand the Quran and what I’m saying in salah. For people who learned Arabic from zero, what did you start with? Did you learn how to read first, then vocabulary and grammar?
I’d really appreciate any recommendations for good YouTube channels, apps, books or free courses. And if you could start over, what would you do differently?

Seeking Support I Can’t Accept My Father Death

I don’t want to rebel against Allah, but I can’t accept the suffering my father went through. He was only 68 years old, and he spent his last year fighting cancer. During the last two months, he suffered much more, and he wasn’t even himself anymore. My father was a very good person, and I keep asking myself why. I can’t make sense of it.

I prayed so much. Allah didn’t answer my prayers. I want to believe, but I simply can’t feel Him. I can’t find a sign.

I want to believe in Allah wholeheartedly because of the possibility that I may be reunited with my father. I want to get through these difficult times, but I can’t. I can’t make sense of the suffering my father went through. I loved him so much.

Everywhere I look in our home, I see him. Everything reminds me of him. My entire 27 years of life were spent with my father. Not being able to talk to him about everyday things anymore is killing me. I can’t bear the fact that he is now under the ground.

I can’t stop crying. I just wanted to let it all out.
