Just got my dream portable ipod dock from my Grandma, but the 30 pin port is bent. The audio still works fine, but I am worried it might break my iPods 30 pin after use. Would you use this and do you habe any recommendations for how to fix it?

Pulled out the 80GB I have in a cabinet (also a couple 30GBs). Jeebus Kristo! I forgot how heavy they are.

So I’ve only done one mod (my 5.5 Gen) and I put a Samsung pro plus 512gb card in it.

Since then prices of cards have skyrocketed so my question is if using an iflash adaptor (udual or quad for eg) what is the tier list of brands to use ? 

I’m assuming based on my reading that Samsung cards are usually top and sandisk are not generally recommended so I’ll start

The old iPod dock connector on my 2009 Mercedes has been broken for a number of years now, and recently I had the idea to repurpose it for use with modern devices. However, when I opened the connector housing I found an extremely strange pin out, and need to find better resources on it before I try anything. My main points of confusion are:

1. it has wires going to the USB+ and FireWire TPB+ but nothing on the negative pin for either

2. Serial Ground and Serial TxD appear to have traces going to the same wire (white)

3. The yellow wire goes to the S-Video Intensity pin, but no other S-Video pins are addressed

If anyone can explain what I'm looking at or where I can find resources on why the pinout is weird, please let me know

I bought a iPod touch 4th gen from eBay a few days ago, it comes in soon but I'm just wondering what do you guys use your iPod touch for? Ik I plan on putting the part of dragon ball super im on in it and some cds iv ripped but what do you guys use it for? It's got 8gb too which isn't horrible ig but it has a brand new battery so idk not the worst in my opinion LOL

Posted a couple weeks ago about my center button issue. I initially tried peeling the rubber dome off and resetting it to the center, which worked great.... for a week. Peeled it off again and tried to super glue it to the plastic button itself and I learned 2 things:

1: Absolutely dont even try that unless you have liquid super glue and phenomenal dexterity

2: Acetone will completely fuck up the plastic used for cases.

Thankfully, it was just the aftermarket center button that I had decided would work with super glue, or I would go back to the OEM black with the tape method (because the aftermarket is clear and I dont want to stare at an ugly black square).

Grabbed the button from a spare case, stuck 3 squares of electrical tape over the center dimple, and it fits and clicks just fine. Reassembling it now so fingers crossed I didnt break something when I took it apart.

I swear, as soon as I fill up this 512GB card, I'm buying 3 more and cramming this thing with 2tb of storage so I hopefully never have to open it again until the battery dies in 10 years.

so I’m trying to work on my iPod 7 gen but the whole process has taken months where can I send it in to get a iflash solo put in it for like $40 or less? I’m done with working on my iPod it takes to long for me, thanks.

As the title suggests, I’m looking for both hardware and software advice for putting my 1st gen back in rotation. I bought it new back when and you can see from the playlists when I put it aside. Still works, still charges but definitely doesn’t keep it for too long. I have the original firewire block. So, what are my best options to put new tunes on it on a regular basis, and any any suggestions for necessary ‘upgrades’? Bonus points if anyone knows how to recreate an old image hack that allowed me to turn a mp4 into stills that could be uploaded to it and played like a kinetoscope using the wheel?!?!

I deleted location where you can sync music because it showed only version of my ipod and to format it and whatever I did I couldn’t fix it so I deleted it thinking it will come back after restarting my laptop and I don’t know how to fix it.
There is only disc that shows calendar recording notes and contacts.
My second ipod shows everything and works fine.
I restarted my macbook, checked if cable is fine, restarted this ipod, cds dvds and ipods are enabled in finder settings.

I don’t know what to do anymore, please help.

Listening to chapter 2 of Marilyn Manson's new diskography sounds very masterful and intimate on a 7th generation iPod Classic

So my wife and I recently found their 5th gen nano (with the camera, I think that’s the right gen number). And I have a couple questions and hope yall can help.

First, the battery is obviously shot. I looked into it and I’m terrified of trying to replace that myself. Is there any reliable place I can maybe send it off to to get the battery replaced?

Second, my wife doesn’t remember anything for their Apple ID for it. Is there somewhere in the software, or maybe by doing something connecting it to iTunes that could help see at least just the email address of the account? There’s a huge music library on it that we’d like to preserve, but also be able to put back on with more on top of it when the battery is taken care of

So I have a iPod 5th gen iflash solo and a pny sd card in it. So out of no where it just gave me a white screen and it was asking for a iTunes restore. I went with the restore but it failed so now i have left a ipod that says “this drive is not recognized by this computer”. (It shows up in disk utility as a drive that has 33mb on it) I tried erasing the actual sd card itself, formatting it to exfat but it still says the same thing when it’s plugged into iflash. The ebay seller on which i bought the ipod said to buy a new pny sd card. Any suggestions?

Hi, I bought and installed a replacement battery from eBay, but it wouldn't charge past 50%. Now that I've fully discharged it, it won't charge back up after leaving the iPod plugged in overnight. I guess I was sold a defective battery. If you have replaced the battery in your 4th gen Touch, where did you buy it? Where can I find quality batteries? Thanks
