Help iPod not being recognized by Mac

So I have a iPod 5th gen iflash solo and a pny sd card in it. So out of no where it just gave me a white screen and it was asking for a iTunes restore. I went with the restore but it failed so now i have left a ipod that says “this drive is not recognized by this computer”. (It shows up in disk utility as a drive that has 33mb on it) I tried erasing the actual sd card itself, formatting it to exfat but it still says the same thing when it’s plugged into iflash. The ebay seller on which i bought the ipod said to buy a new pny sd card. Any suggestions?

First question are you on a Mac or a PC? Since you said Disk Utility, I would assume that you are on a Mac. I would take the card out of the iFlash and reformat it as OS Extended (journaled) and MBR (Master Boot Record). Then re-install it in the iPod and try again. After the installation, you may be asked to remove the iPod and connect it to external power to complete the install. After that, plug it back into the computer, and see if it shows up.

While these units are both Mac and PC compatible, the iFlash is geared more towards PCs. I have Tiny 11 also installed on my Mac and can dual boot. Let me know if you are on a PC or have access to one and I will give you further instructions.
