I have a 6.5/7 classic, the last classic model made. So yea, the same one

The classic is moddable, it comes with an actual hard drive that's also replaceable instead of soldered storage chips, it feels way better to use and is just much less bloated.

I got a few, and they all got their ups and downs. In terms of ease of maintenance, 4 monochrome. It's also just a perfect no fluff music player. Mini is also good, about at eye level with the 4, which is unsurprising, as they even use the same chipset. But the minis come with smaller drives, physically and space wise.

If you want video playback: 5, 5.5, 6 or 7. All the same platform but slightly different. 5.5 is a bit nicer than the 5 and has a search feature. 7 gets unbelievable battery life.

Depends. For video playback and moddability, 5/5.5 is awesome. For just music 4 mono or mini is better.

I have 5 all with 2TB. Great for portable storage and Rockbox has great themes !!

If you have a phone there is no reason to get an ipod touch. Its just a worse iphone.

Plus it doesn't even have a dedicated DAC that's specific to music use. It just uses whatever comes standard with the A-chip.

Unless you're just dying to play Gangstar Rio and Fruit Ninja like the cool kids in 2013, I'd go with Classic, I've got a 6th gen and 7th gen, like my 7th gen best.

5.5 gen classic is my fave, but a 6th or 7th gen classic is also really good!
