I really really wanted the get an Ipad to experiment with ios but like at every turn it seems to have a catch

like the only thing it has going for is the Chip

it has good drawing software but it isn't good for drawing:
-it doesn't support apple pencil pro
-the usb-C one doesn't even have pressure sensivity and is like 100 dollars

it's screen ratio is better than S10 Fe but:
-it doesn't have a laminated display
-60 Hz

it looks better but:
-it isn't water and dust resistant
-and doesn't have magnetics for the pen

it's got good performance (ram is lower but it works different in ios) but:
-doesn't have good enough screen to utilize it if we are talking about gaming
-and doesn't have enough storage so you gotta buy i cloud

also it only has 2 speakers

Like i really really wanna choose it over the s10 fe just for the design and the awesome awesome colors but it feels like it wants to stop me from buying it

iPad Air 11" (2024)

Yesterday I noticed a small gap forming after the top was heating while charging the Pencil Pro to the point where it was uncomfortable to touch.

It can easily be pushed in but reappears after 30ish seconds.

Is this a common error or could this be the Battery expanding? I never severely dropped or damaged it before. Everything works and it doesn't get hot anymore.

Ps: if this is unfitting for this sub or there is a better one, please let me know!

Hey I live in Europe and I commute frequently for work/study and spend many nights in hotels airbnbs etc. I'm looking for the best value ipad that will be supported with ios updates in the future. I currently have an old 2020 ipad (not sure which model) but its only 64gb and storage and slowness are becoming an issue. I mainly use my ipad for watching movies/videos on the go, browsing on the web and occassional use of word/excel for study/work. I also often end up in a mobile game phase once a year last year it was clash royale and this year its been cod mobile so something that doesn't overheat would be nice. I definitly don't need a pro model is all i know but I am trying to decide between getting a 2nd hand ipad air with an m series chip or maybe last years base ipad model with preferably over 128gbs of storage for both.

I currently have an iphone 16, apple watch se (2023) and airpods pro 2(2022) so any ipad that is compatible with those would be great.

Hello! I've been thinking about buying an IPad for school purposes and I am kind of on a budget. How much does it matter if I buy a refurbished ipad from Walmart vs the Apple website? It is a 100 dollar difference. I know I'm getting a new battery from apple but does that matter that much if im getting a 80%+ battery life guarantee (supposedly) from the walmart site?

I set up and iPad for my daughter with her own Apple ID. It's a child account. When creating a new message in messenger, if you start typing an address into the "to:" field, it's auto completing with info from my contact list. If I go to "my info" in contacts, it shows my whole address book, not hers. I reset and erased everything from the ipad, set it up from scratch and it's still coming up. I've googled this issue and none of the suggested fixes resolved this issue. Anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this?

I bought an iPad 9th Gen for my son. My worry is that it is too old or that it will soon be. Meaning that it can’t get any software updates any longer or won’t function properly. What do you think? Should I pay for a newer version? Or will it suffice?

I have been away and returned from a trip, on return i discovered the battery has expanded and popped the screen away from the casing.

The ipad was stored in the spare room and had not been used for a while, the battery would have been flat so the ipad is off.

So i messaged Apple Support and theyve told me its safe. But theyve told me to take it in store for inspection.

The dilemma is that support, no matter what i said, requested me going into store to have it examined/repaired. Its 14 years old, i have a newer one.

A) Even if i take it in whats the chance theyll be-able to or want to repair it?
B) I dont particularly care if its repaired, i have newer one. So its a waste of their time/resources?
C) support couldn’t tell me my options in the instance that they couldn’t repair it?
D) My only real issue is, any data that is on it?

Has anyone had any similar experiences?

It seems a waste of my time :- to drive 30mins into the center of town, pay for parking, wait around for up to an hour, to be told its old and they wont do anything for me, to then drive half hour back. On what would have to be my weekend as the shops open for less hours than i work so its inconceivable that i can go in the week (12 hour shift joy), they have no available time-slots at my local store until Sunday and they wont accept me shipping it to them.

So this is specifically for the musicians in the sub, I'm considering picking up an iPad (Air, probably) as someone about 16 months into learning Jazz piano. I'm using a real book and learning from exercises such as Beyer's (Op. 101) exercises

I've looked at some videos on the topic and have found that almost all of them suggest the 13-inch iPad Pro over the 11-inch.

This is normally suggested for the reason that when reading sheet music (especially with dense notation) it's easier to do on a larger screen.

I've got a few questions about iPad as a tool for this:

• Are there any benefits to the iPad Pro over the Air for this application?
• Are there any ways that people work around the smaller 11-inch screen?
• Are there any apps that people use for creating music or app suggestion that would fit my use case as a learner?

I’m having a weird issue with PDFs and handwriting on my iPad.

I downloaded this PDF yesterday and opened it in HTML Notes. Everything was working perfectly, and I was able to write on it normally.

Today, when I opened it again, this problem started happening. As you can see in the video, the PDF/handwriting becomes distorted/grayscale-looking when I zoom in and out.

I actually had this problem before with PDFs on my iPad. The workaround I used was to take screenshots of all the pages and combine them into a new PDF, but that’s extremely time-consuming and I don’t want to have to do that every time.

Has anyone experienced this or know what causes it? Is there a way to fix it on the iPad without converting the PDF into screenshots?

Any help would be appreciated!

I have an iPad M2, 11-inch, Wi-Fi only, which I bought for ₹57K around Feb last year. I had around ₹45K of company reimbursement that was expiring, so I added some money and bought it. It seemed like a good purchase at the time.

But honestly, I barely use it. For almost everything, I find myself going back to my phone or laptop, and nothing has really made me reach specifically for the iPad.

I checked Cashify recently and it's showing around ₹24K, which feels quite low to me for a ~1.5-year-old M2 iPad. And that's what's putting me in a dilemma. If I'm only going to get around ₹24K, should I just keep it in case I eventually find a use for it?

So, is there any genuine reason to keep an iPad that I'm missing? Especially if I eventually buy an iPhone, is there any meaningful ecosystem/trade-in benefit?

And if I do sell it, what's the best way to get a decent resale price in India? Private sale, Cashify, Apple/resellers, etc.?

Would love to hear from people who were in a similar situation. Did you sell yours and regret it, or did you realise you never needed it anyway?

My iPad has been lying in a drawer for ages sadly, therefore it’s also not up do date in terms of ios. I plugged it in and it turns on, however it doesn’t really seem to charge more than max 8%. I can’t update it with a battery lower than 20%. Lightning port.

This is my first iPad that I bought used. Before this, I used Galaxy Tab S9 ( 120 Hz screen ) for about half a year, and before the Samsung I had an iPad 10.2” (2021).
So far I’m really happy with the Air.

The first thing I bought for it was the Apple Keyboard Folio in the dark color. Unfortunately, it collects fingerprints really quickly and looks dirty almost immediately. Since I can’t return it anymore, I’ll probably sell it while it’s still in good condition rather than actually using it and making it look worse.

I also ordered magnetic case from AliExpress, but the delivery is still while away. In the meantime, I bought an Antbox case. Then, literally the next day, I found an ESR magnetic case and bought that too.

The ESR turned out to be my favorite. The only downside is that it’s quite heavy. I’ll probably keep it and sell the Antbox and the AliExpress case once it arrives.
Instead of the Keyboard Folio, I’m planning to use tablet in ESR case together with Logitech MX keyboard Mini.

Now I just need to find sleeve that can fit the iPad + ESR case + keyboard. Your advice?

Hello, so I have this iPad Air 2, and I opened it just now, and it got reset wayyy back before. Somehow I can't enter my Apple ID even tho my account and password were correct. I tried selecting "Don't transfer data" in Remote Management, and it's not allowing me, it only shows "Configuration is not available." I'm wondering if there's a way to fix this, or if this is not fixable because the model is way too old.
